Maybe it's just me, but I think Z really dumped on O'Grady and RF. Nothing like leaving them high and dry just a couple weeks before camp starts.

His lack of clear direction makes the WWW administration's selection of someone else for the head job look more and more logical all the time.

Oh, maybe, but as someone who recently also did a short stint at a job 300 miles from home, I can understand why he'd jump at a better job closer to home.

I just did the same.

Good luck to Z at Beloit Memorial. I also am glad that he won't be coaching against the Warhawks in the WIAC....Also, High school coach what you surmised is simply ridiculous.....

Knowing how much family means to him I can't say that I'm totally surprised by his change of heart.   Having spent some time separated from my family earlier in my working life I know first hand how much it weighs on you.

HS coach, I can understand how you've surmised and it does seem logical to those who have no knowledge of what went down but you're about 10,000 miles off base.    Stan put 15 years into the WHITEWATER program which would hardly suggest to those hiring that he lacked a "clear sense of direction."  No offense intended but that's just plain silly.

Sak and bw, you may be right, but this is going to make at least some people wonder.  It may have crimped some of the second-guessing potential if UWW doesn't win the league or go deep into the playoffs.   (Sak - You're definitely right about the coaching against UWW - I thought Oct 6 was shaping up as a huge grudge match)

It may very well be only what is publicized - there's plenty of logic to the story.  But you have to acknowledge that UWRF has been hung out to dry by the circumstances.

Could this mean Z regrets leaving UWW in the first place?  Maybe just a teeeeeeny bit ... ?
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

razor_ramone

Wow seven months ago people were talking about how coach Zweifel got "screwed" by WW. Know in a way but not so much UWRF has the same thing happen to them. Okay not really.
Maybe this is the best thing for him.
I know coach Lance asked him to stay numerous times, and even told the players that he wanted him to stay at his first meeting as head coach.
I guess you could say that it is a step up as it is in administration, and being an administrator at any level is a step up on being a coach.
Oh well best of luck to him,in his knew job. I know one thing that beign AD he will have to be at all the sporting events and everything else. Whcih willd efinitely be interesting for him, as he has been football, football, football for over thrity years.
Gotta beat the best to be the best otherwise your just one of the rest

Let's hope it happens as somethign like this will bring all the hawks back to UW-W

Yes, I'd have to acknowledge that it is a tough break for River Falls.    But the two men have such a close relationship that I'm sure they've talked this thing out.

I wasn't worried about the game.  Though I was looking forward to the reaction in the chancellor's box with Stan directing RF's offense from the room next door.  I think that would have been interesting.  :D :D  ;)

With Zweifel going to RF I thought they had a great chance at moving up in the WIAC, without it will be tough.  I wonder how many of the new players would have committed to RF's if they knew Zweifel was not going to be the offensive coordinator.  Anybody have an inside track to some of RF's players?  Also who will they get this late in the year to replace him?

As reported in today's Eau Claire Leader-Telegram - two fomer Blue Devil football players both pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor count of possession of cocaine and were each sentenced to one year's probation...

Lack of clear direction? How about when you're wandering around the wilderness and someone breaks your compass it might be interesting where you end up. BTW please, UWW, or WW would even sufice but WWW really gets annoying. Whitewater is ONE word.

Sorry to get your panties in a wad, but in my part of the woods they are usually referred to as "Wisconsin Whitewater".  Hence the WWW.
