has anyone heard any news out of UW-River Falls now that Stan left?  I'd assume they need a coach to replace him right now

Pat,
My bad all I remeber is him making the Warhawk defense look silly, the play where he dived into the end zone was one of the greatest plays I have seen a college athlwete make.
Anyways. How Larry Kehres and MU got him to come to Alliance is still a mystery to me. He was the best player on the field in the stagg bowl, and was bvoious ahead of the rest of the players who suited up that day.
Simply put HE WAS A MAN AMONG VERY SMALL CHILDREN
Gotta beat the best to be the best otherwise your just one of the rest

It's a shame they didn't tell the Web site folks.

They may not have had a choice; it's possible a different school beat them to this address.

Yes, I'd have to acknowledge that it is a tough break for River Falls.    But the two men have such a close relationship that I'm sure they've talked this thing out.

I wasn't worried about the game.  Though I was looking forward to the reaction in the chancellor's box with Stan directing RF's offense from the room next door.  I think that would have been interesting.  :D :D  ;)

At the risk of having all of you Z worshipers climb all over me, I will suggest (having had a personal experience) that anytime you are next booth over from Stan it is interesting.

He's on the front page if you need a refresher as to his uniform number.

Pat, I already have that as my background on my computer. Like I said that was one of the greatest runs I have ever een in a college game.
I am not even sure if Derek Stanley could have stopped him on that one.

D O.C.

I, for one, would like to see MTU play MUC for the first pick on desired initials.

Kudos to LAX for having a stellar schedule again this year.  May their performance in that schedule get them to the play-offs.

BoBo

I'm sure Tech would prefer to play Mount in Ice Hockey or Nordic Skiing - you want to see a football game I think.

BoBo, thanks for the correction on our schedule.

From the Ram's website about yesterdays practice.

RAM BITS: The play of the day goes to rookie receiver Derek Stanley, who made an adjustment on a deep pass and outjumped cornerback Darius Vinnett for a circus catch that also drew the loudest applause of the day from the fans in attendance...

Way to go, Derek!  Could usually count on seeing atleast one of those jaw dropping catches a game!!

Let's hope that Derek realizes it's only the first day of training camp and no 7th round selection ever made a regular season roster with a first day, up-in-the-air, acrobatic catch.  Sure, the fans sitting on their lawn chairs around the practice field like to see that stuff, but the coaches have been there, done that far too often to get overly excited.  He needs to "keep grounded," so to speak and play each rep as if it's the last one he'll ever play - make the easy catches, too, run good routes, make a key block to spring Steven Jackson or one of the other running backs on a big gainer and throw in a special teams hit consistently for good measure.  That first day catch is already history and won't even be remembered unless he makes this team.  I'm sure even raiderguy, in his own grandiloquent way, wishes Derek the best of luck in making the Rams roster as much as any D3 fan does.  I think it must be hard for him to put that into words Whitewater fans can appreciate.

I'm hearing RF has hired a replacement for Z. A high school head coach and former player at RF. If true, they got a good one!
