Menlo scores 12 late 4th quarter points, but UW-Stout hangs on to win 24-19.  Statistically, total yards about even 368-342 Menlo.  But, Stout held a wide ball possession edge 37:03  to 22:57.  Both teams had 1 turn-over.  Menlo  8-70 in penalties, Stout 4-40.

The win ups the WIAC non-conference record to 2-0 for the 2 day old season.

EXBADGER:  Uncalled for speculation.

I suggest you delete the post.

Deleted! However...  Regardless if he is healthy or not, he won't be seeing the field until after week three.  Fact.

Thank you.

UW-Stout has taken a 3-0 1st quarter lead against Menlo on a Marty Platek 35-yard FG following a nine play, 45 yard drive.

They are driving again at the Menlo 12, 1st and 10.

BoBo - the kicker for Stout is So. Kyle Martin.  He handles punts, KO and FG's.

Stout started pulling  many of their defensive starters in the the third quarter.  I don't think Menlo would have scored late if they had left them in.

Then their live stats were wrong because that's the name listed on the scoring sheet.

River Falls now leads Hope 40-10 with 2 minutes remaining in 3rd quarter.  RF QB Harmon has 4 TD passes.

Last score from Lakeland has WW leading the Muskies 10-0 with 9 min. remaining before half-time.  I got that from a different missage board as I can't get a connection to the WW radio broadcast.  So, I can't verify it.

Hope just scored making it 40-17 early in the 4th.

In news from the NFL, the Rams trimmed their roster to 64, making 11 cuts on Fri.  Including their 6th round pick, former Badger TE Mark Anelli, and 2 WR.  Derek Stanley remains on the roster.  However, the Rams will have to make 11 more cuts on Sat. to get to the manditated 53 man roster. Good luck to Derek.

WW 41-7, 5 minutes left in the game/  Lakeland has the ball/  Whitewater playing reserves.  Lakeland TD on kickoff return.

Lakeland has only 2 total first downs - all coming on their first drive. No running game at all for Lakeland. Defense had a few injuries.

WARHAWKS control time of possession with nearly 37 minutes and run up 510 balanced yards of total offense (255 rushing, 258 passing) while the defense only allowed 110 total yards.  Beaver carries 26 times for 133 yards, two touchdowns and Jones goes 17 of 27 (three drops) for 200+ yards.  Jones threw for one touchdown though he had one dropped and another in which the receiver was ruled out of bounds.  Neil Mrvicka led our receivers (sorry, missed the numbers).   Schebler is perfect kicking two field goals (28, 35) and four extra points.   Lakeland's score came on a 71 yard punt return and their first two possessions were extended though both ended without points.  One with an interception on the WW1 yard line and the other on downs.  But once the WARHAWKS got going the writing was on the wall.
