Johnny Red--just got off the phone with Rick Bowen, Falcon A.D. I asked him what would be a good location for the Stiftungsfestivities tailgate operation. He said if you were going to SELL concessions, he would not allow it-- competition for the local effort. But I don't think your operation is a money raiser--more a social with contriibutions appreciated. Is that correct? At any rate, he said you should contact him. That may not be necessary if your operation is really just a tailgate party. If that's the case, I will get back to him and assure him that you are not "competing."

Well geeezuzzkeeristt, what's up with this Bowen dude? If he was at all in touch with d3 sports, he would KNOW that the stiftungsfestivities is the finest gathering of the finest fans in all of college sports enjoying the fellowship of friends and foes alike.
He's charging us all an extra dollar to get in on Saturday so, Mr. Bowen, relax, give us a spot, come and have a (FREE) burger, then go back and count your dough.  ;)

Well said Mr. Finsleft.  This Bowen guy is already trying to squeeze the Johnnies fans (what a coincidence the admission goes up when the Big Red Machine rolls into town...).  Clearly he is only concerned with the mighty dollar and has NO idea about the Stiftungsfestivities.  I would love to see him attempt to shut down the "For Profit"  ::)  ::) operation.

Hey Fred,

Are there other UWRF fans on Post Patterns?  Be sure to stop by and say hello at the Stiftungsfestivities...

My recollection is that there is plenty of parking at and around the RF stadium.  It is certainly as big, maybe bigger, as the Perks main parking lot and that held the very large Johnny contingent and their, "award winning tailgate," just fine.   The only drawback is the long walk to get to the bathrooms from the parking lot.  A trek you boys will be making quite often, I suspect!   ;D  Might want to push for some porta-potties.  Oh, and the long walk that the visiting players must make to get to the field from their locker room.

413- fredfalcon said the parking lot was torn up due to construction so better get there early.
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Oh, damn.............how did I miss that!   ???  Now I get it.  Couldn't figure out what the big deal was regarding parking. The UWRF staduim has one of the biggest lots in the WIAC.  Sorry.  Never mind..........................

After having left the OAC board a pathetic, tangled mess of in-fighting following the Johnnie/Marietta game, I'm a little disappointed in this week's banter on the WIAC board.  Is everyone convinced the Johnnies are going to roll this weekend or what?

Who will score more points against the Falcons this month, the Johnnies this week against UW-River Falls or the Gophers (against Bowling Green last week) and the Vikings (against Atlanta this week) combined?

TC,

There's just no RF fans except FredFalcon, and he's too nice to get into it.  I can't wait to see the MonkeyStomp get dropped on the Falcons!!!

Associated Press has announced that it will allow lower division schools to be included in the Top 25 College Football poll.  Yesterday, it's doors were only open to D1 schools.  Thank you App. State for shaking up tradition  8).  I guess that means MUC might show up in the poll, too, next week???

Johnnie Red

fredfalcon, we do not charge anyone anything to attend the Stiftungsfestivities. Hopefully Mr. Bowen will be fine with us hosting the tailgate party.

Hey Johnnie fans--I'm sure there will be no problem in setting up your not-for-profit operation. I would suggest you put it at the southeast corner of the p. lot, near a kiosk you will see there. That means you will  probably need to get there early enuf to occupy that space. It will allow the shortest walk to the ticket booth. Our parking space will be as large or a bit larger than last year even though the Kwik Trip facility is in mid-construction. We've added more space on the north side of the lot.

Here's a little perspective on the relative income provided by ticket purchases to football gamess at Collegeville and at Ramer Field: Rick Bowen was told by a Johnnie alum on our faculty, who attends games in Collegeville, and who will be sitting on the Johnnie side Saturday, that an average attendance at Johnnie games is approx. 7500 or so. Bowen then said that a one game intake in Collegeville is MORE than the entire take at ALL athletic contests held in River Falls for the entire year! I'll clue him in on the S-fest.

Yes, there are other Falcon posters, but, though you guys are not aware of it, losing has its effect on enthusiasm/smack talk. I'm capable of it, have done it several years ago re Johnnie fans when the debate about relative stregths of the WIAC and MIAC raged. Your scheduling of Eau Claire and the recent competition between WW and SJU have tamped that discussion down, a good thing in my estimation.

I'll definitely be at the S-fest, as I was last year. I felt a lot better there than I did in the stadium after the first ten minutes of last year's game. Thanks for the invitation.

Sakman--my plan is to be at the Perk. Hope to see you.
