Has the 2nd half started in the Black Hills?  Can't pick up that broadcast outside the US borders.  Black Hills was the pre-season #10 in NAIA.  They were also shut out 17-0 last week by Carroll College in Montana (#4 in NAIA).  Didn't the Blugolds shut them out last year, too?  Seems to be a common theme with BHSU.

UWEC underway again -

First half scores were on a seven-yard TD pass, Kyle Paulson to Nils Dillion; drive set up by a blocked punt...
Cory Sartorelli scores on a one-yard run, after the Blugolds go on a 40-yard drive after recovering a BHS fumble...

QB Paulson not likely to return to action this game. Starting center Matt Day was also injured on the same play, and he's out as well. Not sure what happened, but the field is wet, which plays into what occurred, I guess...

Oshkosh is the first final of the day in the WIAC.  The Titans rip Huntingdon College in Alabama 34-3.  Unofficially, UWO piled up 515 total yards, including 335 yards rushing in 50 attempts to only 209 total yards by HC.  The Titan D forced 9 punts and 3-16 on third down attempts.

BoBo - Yep; the Blugolds shut out Black Hills State last year, 20-0. So they've now shut them out for six quarters. We'll see how soon my jinxing the 'Golds takes effect... ;)

The Yellow Jackets have a freshman QB, Drew Hodgs, who started. He was pulled for a few series today, though, after throwing a two consecutive picks... He's back in again, though, as they are into Blugold territory in the 3rd quarter, inside the 30...

Are those two attached at the hip or something???

Seriously, it's shaping up to be another great day for the conference.  Hope EC and RF can maintain their efforts in the second half fo their respective games.  Platteville is leading 16-6 at half, too.

Yellow Jackets break the shutout with a 30-yard field goal...

BHS had a 4th and 8 at the UWEC 23 and went for it. Completed a pass to the 9 for first and goal. Then went backwards on a penalty, and finally forward again, to where they had 3rd and goal from the 3... Blugold defense had a sack back to the 14, so BHS kicks the field goal...

UWEC 14, BHS 3... just under three minutes in the third q... Yellow Jackets D is stepping up...

BoBo

Platteville and St. Ambrose enter the 4th after a scoreless 3rd quarter. UWP lead is 16-6.

SJU taking control in River Falls with 3, third quarter TD's.  The latest scored by the D - int for TD.  SJU 21-10.  RF hasn't been able to do anything they did in the first half, while SJU appears to have made some necessary adjustments.  RF needs to score to get back into this one.

SAU had a first and goal at the UWP 7 - but a couple backward rushes and 2 incomplete passes and Platteville takes over on downs.  They are trying to run out the clock with just under 5 minutes left, leading 16-6.

They just punted to the SAU 12.  Two plays and -5 yards later, a Platteville int may just kill any chance SAU had for a comback.  UWP will takes over at the SAU 47 with 4:37 remaining.

After BHS field goal = teams exchange possessions thereafter, until the 'Golds get it with about 6 minutes left, intending to milk the clock...

Yellow Jackets make a play on third and 10 that results in a loss on the play, appearing to stop the 'Golds and force a punt. But a personal foul is called on the play, and the BHS player gets ejected, giving the Golds a 1st and 10 at the BHS 36-yard line, with three minutes left...

Blugolds maintain the ball and keep on moving the sticks, are inside the 25, and are able to run out the clock for a W... 14-3...

Workmanlike job by the offense, which did what it had to do, missing four starters - RB Scotty Osborne (before the season), and today's losses of QB Paulson and Center Day, plus WR Tony Hull, who got hurt in practice this week...

Sophomore QB Nikolay goes 4-6 for 30 yards in relief appearance, keeps the clock moving, and RB Sartorelli 33 carries for about 60 tough yards and a TD... They didn't score much today, but were able to manage the clock, make few mistakes, and let the D do its job...

Wasn't pretty, but it will make the 10-hour bus ride back home a lot nicer...
