JimmyI7,

Talk about pointless comments....I think the Osh running back is pretty happy there (like other many good football players thru out the WIAC)  and transfering to WW to try to "beat out" Beaver is a dumb statement!!  Not taking anything away form the Beav, but I say he does run behind the WIAC's best line.

Also getting back to WW losing to St Cloud,  it shows how good and how much respect there is for WW when this was consider a PRETTY BIG UPSET!

Goo 62

It shocks me to still see people questioning Justin Beaver.  How can you argue with 2420 as a junior in 14 games and 1369 in 10 games as a senior, by the way his senior year he came back from a broken collarbone in 4 weeks, to rush for 227 yards against the second best team in our conference.  The RB from osh kosh and Beaver arent in the same ball park.  Smell that
Do you smart guys ever come to think that maybe the OLine from UWW looks as good as the do or did because of Beaver? Its not hard to block for a guy like Beaver trust ME on that one, he makes anybody look good not the other way around.  So J44 buy a clue and go watch a game.

Was it and upset?  I haven't heard that.

In regards to the Moriarty/Beaver on-going debate, I just wanted to put my 2 cents in the cup.  Moriarty is a nice player for his team and does a lot for them.  However, with that said, for me, I think Genslinger from UW-P is a better all-around player to me and the 2nd best back in the league.  Moriarty is not the big game back I would want carrying my team.  A lot of his stats get padded during the non-conference part of the schedule and he shows a lot of inconsistancy or up and down play during the conference portion of the schedule.  For instance, he has 7 TD's so far this year which looks pretty good for only 3 games.  But, when you realize the less than stellar opponents (Ripon, Huntingdon, Lakeland) and the fact that 4 of the TD's have come late in the 3rd quarter (:35 left) or in the 4th quarter of games that were already routs, it's not that impressive. Plus in big in-conference games (WW & LC) his rushing stats, again, are pretty ordinary overall - vs LC 19-51 in 2006 and 37-147 (3.97 avg); vs WW 13-7 in 2006 and 22-80 in 2005.  At the same time, Beaver was rolling up these rushing totals vs Osh and vs LC - 34-162 in 2006 & 43-218 in 2005 vs Osh and 39-286 & 36-227 in 2006 & 49-273 in 2005 vs LC. It's quite possible, like Goo 62 said, that Beaver is a kind of back that makes the others around him better, not just the other way around. It's not all his o-line doing it for him.  As I said before, Moriarty is a nice back, but he doesn't really strike a lot of fear in me.  Beaver on the other hand...

ozzie, go over to the DII message board and see all the DII "experts" that picked the Warhawks over the Huskies, including the NCC columnist.  I think it might be considered a mild upset.  It sure was upsetting to some of those guys having some of their own go with the DIII against their beloved DII team!!  Also, look at the WIAC pick-em thread, it would be considered an upset looking at that, too.

Because there's an unbiased source.  ::)

Just because a number of people gave the Warhawks a reasonable chance to win doesn't make it an upset.  I think the game was predicted to be close enough that I wouldn't call it an upset either way.

On the NCC pick-em thread they voted in favor of SCSU 16-7.  With my very limited knowledge of WW and knowing allot about SJU, I didn't consider it an "upset".  But it was a win over an incredible program.  Reading about the WW 06 team, we were fortunate to get them in 07.

I see Might Max is back on here!! We have all missed your knowledge!!! haha, Having played at WW for four years myself, and have attended numerous games the past three seasons, I do agree Beaver is a very solid back, but NO WAY better than Wurth, Bundgaurd, or a few others that have played in the WIAC!! He has holes you even you GOO62 could run through, and we both know you aren't the quickest guy out there ;)   I rest my case for now, a couple more quick question for GOO, do you own Justin Beaver bed sheets? And if so did you go the extra dollar for the matching pillow cases?  I bet you even brush your teeth with Justin "Big Pride" Beaver toothpaste.. Let us know where you get such items, I definitely want in!!

warhawkclownshow

Those backs aren't even in beavers class get a clue.

Goo 62

Oh bobhawk you are so funny, I get the joke because I back Beaver I am obessed with him, your almost as funny as the show Full House.  To say that Chad Wurth is better than Beaver I just laugh.  Chad Wurth is a great back and I had the priviledge of blocking for him for one year but C'mon.  And as for Bundagard, never saw him play but I know he doesnt have the record anymore and Beaver is going to shatter it.  He is the best running back in the WIAC and at UWW ever, no contest.

ummalum

All those backs are or were outstanding. but do not forget one of the best ever SPENCER JOHNSON. When Nelly and Z talk his name always comes up. The first of the zone running backs

I think what people are trying to say is Beaver has had the benefit of playing behind one of the better O-Lines in the country and one of the better offensives the past two years.  I went and looked at the Stats from the games Beaver sat out and except the Mary-Hardin game WW didn't miss a beat in the rushing game.  It also looked like to me the average yds. per carry by the leading rusher was actually higher than Beavers previous games.

Warhawk 96

All of this talk about Beaver is Hilarious. I don't know anything about Spencer Johnson but I have played against, with, or seen most of the other players.

Let's get real, you sit here and act like just because Beav went down and we never missed a beat with our #2 that Beaver isn't as good as all of these other backs you are talking about. No one wants to mention the fact that outside of the MHB game we did well but the conference teams that we beat (Stout, River Falls) had a combined record of 6-14. We also know that St. Norberts was the worst team we played in that span even though their record was the best. I'm not saying that Pitz is a bad player or anything because he's not, but you can't act like rushing for 200 yards against Lacrosse and rushing for 200 yards against Stout is the same thing.

You know what they call all of this banter? "Player Hating" To tell you the truth, Beaver is bigger, stronger, faster, quicker, and just better than Wurth. We can argue football stats all day but the afforementioned are documented and measureable athletic abilities. Even with statistics I can say that it took Beaver 2 years and some change to pass what took Wurth four years of starting to do. When it comes to Bundgard and Moriarty, why don't you try to act like they're on the level of Andrew Moccadlo or Cody Childs before you think they're in Beaver's league.

99, usually I agree with you but not this time but I can see both sides of the argument except "not losing a beat when the backups were in".....that is a little far fetched. I don't care what the stats are ....Brady Pittz is a wonderful back and would start on most teams but he is no Beaver. The argument between Beaver and previous backs is a tough one, like taking Payton over Sanders or Brown, but I will go with Goo on this one.....sure they were a real good offensive line but Beaver had as much to do about them being good as they did. No one would have heard of the Warhawk offensive line if thousands of yards weren't gained and they needed Beaver for that not just any backup.....
