UWW over EC 31-10.  You can beat the Warhawks if you cant pass and thats a fact.  From what it sounds like EC has no passing game.

Oh, and......................

GO WARHAWKS!        GO WARHAWKS!         GO WARHAWKS!
Just a quick note to say I'm rooting for you guys as always!!  413, were you ever right about the people out at Linfield!!  I had the most fantastic time!  They took me all around the area.  the beach, the Columbia R. Gorge and Mt. Hood and, of course, the CatDome.  Enjoyed the tailgating as well!!  Fun!!  Fun!!  BC went to Lagrange this am.  I couldn't go--I had 4 classes today and someone breathed on me and I have tracheo-bronchitis.  Coughing my head off.  So communion for me will be my cough medecine.  I think that qualifies!  And for the record, my favorite  WW RB is Justin Beaver, just because . . ., just as my favorite TE was Pete!!!!!  I have enjoyed making the young men of WW their brownies and hope I get another chance to do it this year, say sometime late in the season????;D ;D ;D
Brownies for Film Day--Now there's a Slogan I can live with!!!:)  Go EAGLES!

This is a bit confusing - are you trying to say you can't beat the warhawks if you can't pass against them?  Is that what you meant to say?

Football is a team sport.  QB's rely on their WR's and RB's rely on their O-lines and visa versa.  Records are an inexact science.  It is comparing apples and oranges but it is the only adequate measuring stick we have.  Justin Beaver earned the right to be the starting RB on the Warhawks two-time National Runner-Up teams and holds the record for most yards run in a single season in NCAA history at any level!!!!!   He now has broken the UWW and WIAC career rushing records and did it with missing one season and 5 games in another because of injury and still has most of his senior season to go!  I don't care how good his o-line has been, (and yes, they were and are good,) those are amazing accomplishments!
Now don't jump all over me for bringing this up but Beaver has had two years of playoff games that pretty much adds up to an additional season.
Not jumping, 99.   Ten extra games makes up for the 04 season missed because of a torn hammie.  That means he did all this missing 5 games one season and still having most of his senior year left.  Doesn't change the amazing part much for me!

Yup, if you add the playoffs it adds up to 30 games the last two years but with the broken collar bone its 25 games. This is actually Beav's 28th game as a starter this week. GO HAWKS!!!  I can't wait to finally se them play with my own eyes.

I dont know who the best running back for whitewater is/was or dont really care.  All I know is the best player to ever play for whitewater is Matt Turk.  No one can argue against that because I think he is the only player from Whitewater to play in the NFL.  Atleast for a long period of time.

???  ???

Rather outlandish statement, I would say.  I think you put yourself directly in the crosshairs of longtime WW fans.  No disrespect for Matt Turk, as he has had a long and fruitful NFL career with multiple teams.  But, just playing in the NFL as a punter (no disrespect to any and all punters, too!) doesn't or shouldn't qualify him in my view to be the best WW player ever.  I doubt he would be considered in the top 10, in my view.

It really depends on your criteria.  If it's who's played in the NFL the longest regardless of position then Matt has it hands down.   He's been an elite NFL punter and even today is good enough to win a roster spot.  If it's a broader interpetation and incorporates more variables than those two then he's down the list a ways.  Don't mean to take anything away from Matt.  He was a great player and when I see him punting on Sunday I get a sense of pride in knowing he was once one of us.

FYI, I was on the 04 Whitewater team and Beaver played 8 games!!! he simply did not start because Burns was better than him.  If you guys at all know Coach Brez, he playes the best players regardless of how old they are.  So to do the math this will be Beaver's 35th game as a Warhawk, which is just 5 short of a normal 4 year career already.  yes his numbers are amazing, and he is a great back, but definitely not a better player than a handful of guys that I have seen play.  Yes MAX, i'm sure you will have something to say about this since you blocked for him, and everyone is entitiled to their opinion.  BUT, just remember you and ur boys up front were probably the best o-line the wiac has ever seen, not too mention you had a D-fense that got him the ball every 3 plays.      If he is hands down better than any other WIAC running back in history, then he should def. have a great opportunity of playing in the NFL, we'll have to wait and see.

Watched a replay of the UW-Lax/APU game and have a question.  DO all the schools that play of grass keep it that long?  It looks like they have not mowed that stuff in weeks!!
Another thing I noticed is the line from LAX was HUGE!

My criteria is what the guy did as a college player.  What he did after college is another matter.  If he was an everydown player and having the NFL career that is continuing like it is would make a big difference in my opinion. But, he's not, so that is why I said what I did.

I see that the Warhawks are rolling. Just for your info, St John's just completed a 52 - 21 Monkey Stomp of Concordia - Moorhead. Two of Concordia's TD's were on a 90 yard KO return, and an 88 yard run from scrimmage.

Final WW 27, EC zeeeeeeeeeeeeeeero. First quarter was a liitle slow. Jones showed that SCSU was a fluke. Both O and D line were flat out dominate in the 2nd half. All in All looks like the lads and coaches have their game legs underneath them. WW has about 30 minutes to enjoy this one cause it's all about next week. Anybody out there have tips for staying and playing in LC ?

It was pretty shaggy at River Falls for the St. John's game as well ... but SJU sees that a lot.

I thought LAX looked very, very good -- and would be on any surface.

Jones did complete passes for a higher percentage and his receivers didn't have the drops like at SCSU.  Beaver ran hard, but the EC defense seemed much improved.  Offensively, is where they had considerable trouble.  But the WW defense had a lot to do with that.  They are a strong unit.  Good adjustments made at half by WW.  They came out in the 2nd half and put together 2 or 3 possessions that were impressive.  The key to next weeks game at LC is to get that offensive clicking from the start of the game.  The turnovers in the first half made the game sloppy, but WW cleaned up their game.  EC who came in with a +13 in turnover margin, had a lot of trouble with turnovers.  Their most productive play was the fake punt run. I guess a lot of positives to build on for WW next week.  EC needs to re-group and somehow find some consistant offense.  Looks like they might be down to their 3 QB, too, which won't bode well for them.

??? ??? ???   ::) ::)  NOW he has to make it to the NFL?  Breaking the WIAC records isn't enough to determine who is the best back in the WIAC???  Who makes it to the next level usually has a lot more to do with being bigger, stronger and faster than it does with a players resume.
