FYI, I was on the 04 Whitewater team and Beaver played 8 games!!! he simply did not start because Burns was better than him.

Beaver only carried the ball 50 times that entire season.   He suffered from a torn hammie most of the year, I believe.

Any comments on the new video scoreboard at Whitewater?  Maybe now they can really get high tech and give us live stats on their website for those of us in far off lands and not able to get to the games in person!!

he had a pulled hammy, IT was NOT that severe, he only got 50 carries because he was not as good as Burns.. Quit making excuses!! I played with both of them, I know the truth

Bobhawk, out of curiosity, how many usernames do you need?

Congrats to WARHAWK receiver/returner Neil Mrkvicka who set a new WIAC record for punt returns with three yesterday giving him a total of 110 in his career.  The previous record was 108.  Mrkvicka is also fourth in conference history with 1,010 career return yards.

Eau Claire's defense isn't half bad.  I think we just wore them out in the second half.  Their offense just wasn't really that much of a threat.   I thought the second QB they used  was the better of the two though the majority of his playing time was against our back ups.   But if you can't pass the ball effectively against WW you're likely in for a long day.

BoBo, in a word the new scoreboard was stupendous.  And we haven't hardly begun to tap the things we'll be able to do with it.

The point that was made was that Beaver's numbers have been helped by his playing 10 extra games as a result of the play-off runs the last two seasons.  But only getting 50 carries in 04, (FOR WHATEVER REASON,) and missing 5 games in 06  seems to negate any advantage to me, IMHO.

So I've been able to get WIAC Games of the Week (delayed) on my cable here on the East Coast and was wondering about the broadcast team. Bill Brophy on the broadcast team is pretty solid.

Is he the same Brophy who used to be the sports editor at the Madison State Journal?

I saw the video board and it was SWEET!!! I especially like the fact that it keeps live track of stats. I didn't realize how massive it was. I do have to break the habit of looking left though for the score.

Video board was very nice, but they need to get some stuff on that thing.  Cycling white names on a black background, give me a break lets see highlights of something.  Highlights from past games and seasons should be being played during any extened break not the stupid stuff they had up there.

Also, all black is awesome

I'm sure you are only posting to be a crank, but on the off chance you are actually being serious, I'm sure that once they break it in they'll do more with it.

Kinda thought that's what badgerwarhawk said a few posts back, too.

First off bobhawk lets be honest you never played football at UWW.  And playing in 8 games doesnt mean you played in them it just means you were dressed for them, you idiot. In 2004 he had 50 carries cause he was hurt.  By the way he avg. 7 yards a carry.
Colin Burns was not better than him ask anybody and they will say the same. I would take Coling Burns on my team anyday but not over Beaver.
And playing in the NFL means nothing to how good of a D3 football player you are.  Look at your two boys from Stout, they didnt have great careers in college but had the body types for the NFL so they got looks.
Another dumb comment by bobhawk.  And yes everyone has there own opinion but that definitely does mean they have to be good ones.
Go Hawks big win at the perk and heading up to Lax for another one.

Pat Coleman

Actually, the stats are supposed to represent games that a player actually played in. Doesn't mean he was on the field for more than one snap, though.

Thanks, BoBo . . .

So you guys let a Tommie call your games? I'm guessing in the 30-plus years since leaving then-CST he's been able to learn something about football. :)

Really, though, he did a solid job on the couple of broadcasts I heard. Hopefully, I'll get to hear him call WW-LAX.
