Perhaps because UWW took them from them by bouncing back from their loss.

You explained it yourself if you actually read your post.

St. John Fisher, who gains 7 votes, moves to 5th from 6th for beating Ithaca 37-16

Where do you think those seven votes come from?

Of course, Mr. Coleman, I'm aware of that...that's the reason why I wrote what I did...but what's the possible explanations for an idle La Crosse even losing 7 votes in this situation while an idle Linfield gains 12.  That's not strange voting?

No. Linfield was not in a position to be passed by St. John Fisher. They were behind St. John Fisher on every ballot.

How does Wheaton gain so many votes and moves up 2 places for beating an 0-3 team?

Because they did it with their backup quarterback after their starter was lost for the season the previous week with a serious head injury. The dominant win for Wheaton shows that they can still put points on the board without their starter at QB and restored a fair amount of confidence in them. This was in conjunction with another lackluster win by Central, which was immediately above Wheaton.

And BTW, not that I'm too concerned about fortunes of Wesley, but they lost on the field by 1 and lose over 200 votes in the poll? Rather severe punishment for a 1 point loss, don't you think?

At home to a lower ranked team. Wouldn't you say, then, that Montclair winning at Wesley should be ranked ahead of Wesley now? How else to do that but to take a lot of points away from Wesley and give a lot to Montclair State?

I've read many sarcastic or downright negative comments made by you and others about other polls, but for some reason no one has the balls to question what goes on with this one.

You should get out to the other boards. They happen all the time.  But a lot of people don't question the poll because they can look and see many of those factors which I just described to you. They know they cannot look at just one piece (UW-L dropping a spot) and complain about it -- you have to look at the whole picture.

Boy, no smart reply from me this time...you got an answer for everything...well done!
In fact, my concerns/complaint is withdrawn due to badgerwarhawk advice and my acceptance earlier.

I guess there's a domino effect at work here.  I get it...

Thanks. I can't always answer everything (last week W&J dropped a spot and there wasn't any obvious reason why) but often there is a logical reason.

The Warhawk O looked good over the weekend just starting to get the timing down great run to pass ratio. I can say this is only the start of the steam roller.....GO HAWKS....!

I hope you are correct Hurricane. Their big test will come Saturday.....they need to eliminate the turnovers and Pound the Rock.....

I agree TC.. Mount and UWW have to be 1-2 until somebody proves otherwise.  This weekend in LaCrosse should be a good one, but still have to believe the Hawks win by +7.   any thoughts?

LaCrosse was extremely impressive vs. Azusa -- they looked complete all around. And lookwhat  Azusa did last weekend... losing to a 3-1 I-AA team on a last-minute kick.

I'm expecting a great game and have no other viewing planned.;)

Old Indian

Last time UWW comes to Veterans Memorial and you think they will win?
No chance.

This Saturday will mark the return of the Maroon and Gray to dominance.

Enjoy your new scoreboard while you can before Lance runs your program into the ground.

I really think this Whitewater team is going to suprise alot of people this year Mount U. right now i would give them that edge but as this team starts to put it in gear that visual gap you were showing will close in. These kids are very talented and very hungry. Look for them to air it out early and pound the rock late to seal the deal. Mount U. look out.

WoW Old Indian......... ??? ??? LOL You dont know much about football. But thanks for the enjoyable post i always need a good laugh now and again and yes good luck to your boys as well... ;D

With all due respect to your team(s)--and it kills me to group SJU behind UW-W--there's no rational way to look at what has happened this year, what's happened in the past, and the current makeup of rosters and not think that Mount Union is playing a totally different game.

I would argue that the gap between MUC and UW-W is as big as the gap between UW-W and the typical, non-competitive playoff team.

I was at Perkins for the past two SJU games and watched both of the Stagg Bowls on TV.  I was also at SCSU for the game a couple weeks ago.  This year's Warhawks didn't look like the same team I was used to seeing.  I know that good teams play bad games--34-7 a couple years ago wasn't indicitive of the talent gap between UW-W and SJU--but MUC has shown they haven't slipped any this year.  It's going to take a flawless game from one of a handful of teams for anyone to even have a shot at knocking off the Purple Raiders.
