LAX people. Is there a bar walking distance from the field? If so, could you give the name and some directions.
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Hey flash - I hear there are some great bars near the river that feature a "River Stagger and Drown" drink. Don't know what's in it since those that have had it aren't talking.

janesvilleflash-

The Eagles Nest is a block away, south, from the football field. It's on Campbell Road... Cut through Mitchell Hall - the hoops gym - and there you be. Otherwise there are a few bars on La Crosse Street, about a half mile to the west, or so...

I've always thought I have just as good of sense of humor as most but that's just plain nasty.

I love the unconditional faith that some of us Warhawks have but being a realist, this game will probably not be a blowout. This is the same LAX team that almost beat us in 2006 in the playoffs. Warhawks win with a goaline stand on 4th and short;)

btw I see Mike Ferron is having a heck of a year so far. You guys really lucked out with that transfer. What do you Pointers think about him?

I totally agree, 96.  I sure don't anticipate a blow out but I hope your prediction isn't true either.  Don't think my heart could take it.  But just a reminder that this is not the same LAX team that played us tough in the 06 play-offs.  I believe they lost a fair amount of talent to graduation as well, just like the Hawks.  We will see who was the most successful at reloading.  You know, given LAX's great bars and all. ;D

...I can vouch for those cute girls from La Crosse being a great recruiting weapon...I married one!!

Yes I agree the match up on paper and last years performance puts this game in a close grid lock....But.. I think this offense has been sputtering a little to get started and I think that when they are all in tune it will be a shock to a lot of people how well they perform. Truth be told we have seen some good games from them but still out of step here and there. So I base my whole blow out prediction on the fact of them putting it all together this weekend and catching LAX D with their pants down. Given they will not take WW lightly but I think they will put em all in the box and force the pass. WW will answer. Yes the whole reloading of each team....Must be great bars in both towns you got kids from all over...this year. LOL ;)

I may have. And out of respect for my audience, I will apologize. Coming out of the profession I do, we many times resorted to such "humor" in order to keep sane. I will watch myself in the future.

Is there any video coverage via the internet of the game this weekend?

LaCrosse was extremely impressive vs. Azusa -- they looked complete all around. And lookwhat  Azusa did last weekend... losing to a 3-1 I-AA team on a last-minute kick.

I'm expecting a great game and have no other viewing planned.;)

Speaking of not being the same team from last year, AP came into that game against LaCrosse ranked 34th in NAIA. They are no longer ranked.  Last year when they played the Eagles and the Hawk, they were 8th or 9th, I believe.

Not really. That's more a reflection of the NAIA rankings (which are similar to to the AFCA's d3 -- a real crapshoot) and Azusa's schedule. The NAIA can't have a 1-4 team in its top 25 even if Azusa played three teams that are tougher than what 95 percent of the division's teams will play.

And they have.

Azusa played d-1aa san diego -- No. 1 of the lower d-1aa schools --  a lot closer this year, lost to the No. 11 NAIA team in their opener and last week fell to the No. 23 d-1aa (scholarship) in the country on a last-minute FG on the road. And losing to UWLX is no disgrace (despite what the NAIA zealots will say...)

As an independent they don't get as much notice or pick up "conference loyalty" votes that other schools might. I saw this year's team and last year's and they are better this year. That was a good team UWLX beat and they looked good doing it.

Having 2 weeks to prepare like they have for this game...and being fully aware of what's at stake, I would find it difficult to believe LC could be caught with their pants down. It's not like WW is just sneaking up on them out of nowhere. Don't see it following this scenario, 13.

EDIT:  In a Sept 17 La Crosse Tribune article LC Coach Larry Terry pointed out the following:  "The guys have had the Whitewater game marked on their calendars for a while and it won't be hard to motivate ourselves to prepare for them."  Doesn't sound like a team that will be caught with their pants down.
