I have already been called out for some of my idiotic comments, but the suggestion that most D3 teams would be 1-AA teams (now called Bowl Championship Division) might be the dumbest ever.

We WIAC fans love talking about former players who make it in the NFL - is Matt Turk still the last one?  Derek Stanley was all everything in D3 and didn't make it.

That said, the NFL is littered with guys from 1-AA teams.

We all love the WIAC, but let's be real.

Platteville nearly beat Drake a couple weeks ago when Drake was the #1 in that subdivision. Those schools, San Diego, Drake, Butler, Jacksonville, etc. are all glorified DIII's playing D-1AA without scholarships.  Would you agree, repete, most if not all of the top DIII teams would beat them (handily) on any given Sat.?
You need to read a little closer, Old Indian.  And BTW, Stanley is still in the NFL.

I must say Tony Beckham is playing for the Lions after stints with otehr teams the past several seasons.  I am not sure how Clint Kriewaldt is doing with Steelers, but there are more than just a long time punter playing in the league.

And Indian, you're going to get called out again. Indeed, no one here is saying that d3 is equal to d1-aa scholarship teams.

Here's what I said: "d3 teams would do very well against whatever the d-1aa "midmajors" "

DI-AA  "midmajors" are basically schools that are Division I in most sports but have a non-scholarship FB team. Hence, they are not all that different from d3.

Check out the teams ... Mount, UWW, UWLX, UMHB, SJU and more would do very well against that lot.

OK, Platteville lost by 13 to the No. 2 "D-1AA Midmajor"  in the country but when was the last time Platteville had a winning record in the WIAC?

And one last thing: Not all of us "love the WIAC " :)

Totally with everyone on this one...not that I'm lilly white and pure, but when making an indiscretion, just apologize, move on, and don't make the same mistake again.  Blaming it on your job, retagent, is about as irresponsible as the original comment.  Janesvilleflash needs to look into a mirror, too!!

Why in the hell should I be looking into a mirror?

I know janesvilleflash. He should never look in the mirror.

In fact, if both he and I looked into a mirror at the same time, that would be 14 years of bad luck between us.  ;)

I believe he is referring to Drake in Des Moines.  I have not seen the current poll but they were #1 when they lost to highly rated UNI last Sat.  I agree with the assumption that some of the D-3 schools would play well with the mid majors.  Drake recruits against all the IIAC schools and they are at or near the top.  I don't think you have to look to MUC or that far away to give Drake a contest.  UWW, St Johns, Wartburg and even Central would give them a game.  I don't know if the Dutch would win but I know it would not be a blow out.

Yeah, it was Drake, which is now No. 2.

Over the past four seasons (2003-06), Drake and Platteville are 2-2. Over than same span, UW-P is 15-25.

Drake is 31-14 over the same period.

'Nuff said.

Footballfan413,
Read your posting on Danny Jones "Danny Boy" as all his lady friends know him on Malibu beach , Zuma Beach and Santa Monica Beach in the L.A.Ca.and Thousand Oaks area about Danny named offensive player of the week in the WIAC Conference. Sara,Moly,Marisa,Yamilla,Ana,Isabelle, and Sharka, all were so happy to hear of his selection and they had a beach party to celebrate for Their  Danny Boy [former California Lutheran University QB]. All his beach lady  friends miss him so much and worry he will be freezing in Wisconsin soon but want him to know they will be thinking about him with warm thoughts. They all led a cheer as the sun set on Malibu  Beach -----keep on keeping on "Danny  Boy".

You shouldn't...janesvilleflash,
Talk about your poetic justice!!!  I royally screwed up that line and take full responsibility for using it. I just wanted to apologize to you and the others on this board for my insensitive remarks. I went back to modify my comments to delete that line.  But at that time I didn't realize it had already been re-posted in ozjohnny93's post.  My carelessness is not an excuse, but I am sorry for the remark.
