It sounds like this Warhawk team now has their own Linfield game with this great comeback victory. Danny Jones and the defense has a great second half. Can't wait to watch it on TV Tuesday night. Wish I was there today. See you at the Perk next week.....Pound the Rock....Way to play Oline when it counted.....

A real Jekyll & Hyde game...it seemed like after WW's 2nd missed FG at 5:04 of the 3rd and then the fumble 2 minutes later, the teams changed roles in this one. LC completely imploded after that, with help from the WW D that started to act and play like they were coming into this game.  The 12 penalties for 97 yards certainly didn't help LC's cause, either.  From the 3:04 mark in the 3rd quarter, LC finished punt, INT, punt, fumble, INT, fumble - all this coming from the team that could do no wrong for the first 42 minutes of the game.  I said this earlier in the 3rd quarter on the update thread, what happened to Dan Hall in this game? He was having a game for the ages after the first quarter, something like 8 rushes for 114 yards - but finished with "only" 136 on 22 carries.  He seem to disappear. Does WW D get the credit for that?  I don't know.  Moe was picking apart the WW secondary for big chunks, especially to Everson.  But, I guess in the end, the WW D stepped up when it counted the most and the WW offense woke up in time.

Can't say enough about the 2nd half Danny Jones had. What was he, 1-11-1 at one point, but finished at 16-30-1, 204, 2 TD's and the big 2-point conversion to tie the score.  Not great stats if you only looked at them, but for all the trouble he was having, it was a remarkable recovery.  No telling what this guy can do if he can put 4 good quarters together.  Big catches by Gifford and Mrkvica helped him out a lot.  It looked like Jake Anderson was unprepared to step up following the Beaver injury, fumbling right away, but he quickly reversed himself and I feel was another catalyst (12-73 6.1/avg) in the comback.  Beaver didn't get 200 again (26-155 6.0/avg), but he held things together during the first half when nothing else worked.  All in all, it was nearly an entire team bust in the first 42 minutes, but a total team effort in the comeback.

I haven't mentioned the D very much, but they were key to everything, though they went through a rough 1st half.  The hit on Moe was big time - hope he is alright - he played a heck of a game.  I think the LC coaching staff needs to re-evaluate their in-game tactics.  Going back to the Azuza game, they have shown a propensity to play poorly with a lead, going away from what was successful for them.  They got away with it against APU, but not today. From reading and listening to all the comments we heard coming out of LC this week, you know that this one's got to sting.  I hope they can bounce back next weekend make a run to the play-offs.  WW is in the drivers seat.

They have a solid defense, but are VERY young on offense.

But, they'll have to try and keep scores low and count on the defense to get 2-3 takeaways and maybe even score a TD for them.

Yeah, umm, remember when I said that?

UWSP 45, UWRF 42.

Nevermind.

(At least, there was a defensive TD.)

Right back at you, Olinemom.  Good luck to your Bridgewater Eagles today.   ;)  Glad you had such a great time with the Cat familly.
And +Karma back to you Of all my favorite teams, only UWW pulled through today.  Bridgewater could not stop Hampden-Sydney at all.  Linfield lost in the last seconds, so I was super happy to hear that DJ and Justin and the team had pulled themselves up from the depths of a first half deficit and taken a win from LAX.  That shows what a team is really made up.  Way to go OLiners!!!!

I didn't see the SP-RF game, but the box score reads like a tennis match.

The second half featured 7 touchdowns, each of which resulted in a lead change.  Point scored 4 of those including the last with 2:17 to play.  Mike Ferron racked up 199 yards rushing and 2 TD's for Point.  Michael Zweiffel caught 12 balls for 144 yards and two scores for the Falcons.

Wow, I was pacing my basement rec room so furiously I broke a sweat.  I can't believe LaCrosse implouded like that.  To tie the game exceeded my wildest imagination but actually winning it was unfreakin' believeable.  I thought, at best, we were headed for overtime.

If you're a WARHAWK fan you gotta love the "we don't quit until 60 minutes are over" attitude this team embraces.  While it fell short at SCSU it won today's game.  I"m still shakin' my head wondering if what I listened to on the radio actually happened.

SCIAC fan here. Danny Jones is a very talented quarterback. Hopefully he really won over his team and you fans with that type of comeback performence today. It must have been a classic to have seen live.

I've kind of dropped out of the "Whitewater football discussion list", but I wanted to pop in and congratulate Whitewater on a big win.  I wasn't able to attend the game, and it sounds like one not to miss.
