Sakman 1111

I realize this is a new year with new players but we played them in the heat in Texas last year without Beaver and won.....

Too bad Beaver had cramps...

Maybe you should get the boy some Midol?

As much as I'd hate to admit it.........that was pretty funny.
I agree that was a great come back Duffman!!!

I'm not sure if you're referring to Zach Paul or Dave Wicklund for WIAC Def POW. They both had great games. So did Sam Cummings. But so did the CB from UW-O (Kent?) with two big picks. And it sounds like Baillargeon had a big day in a losing effort, although we all know # of T's doesn't always mean everything. And, actually, Drew Kiefer was impressive for LX, but probably not a candidate 'cause of the 'L."

As far as that late T.O. I would be interested to know if anybody has a take on it.

The reason why there was a late timeout at the end of the game is two-fold.  He is teaching the players to never quite fighting.  Secondly, they were trying to get the freshman quarterback a few extra snaps.

I don't know which one it was actually.  I only remember reading the recap and one player had 17 tackles and the other had 15 tackles.  Once again there were several outstanding performances but I considered EC's win an upset whereas I didn't think that of the Oshkosh game.  That tipped the scales for me.  If you're an underdog, you win and one of your guys has 17 tackles I have to think he was a big part of the win.  But, then, so was the other guy with 15 tackles.  Maybe we should have co-defensive players this week but I was picking on the assumption that there could only be one.

You may not have considered it an upset however.  If you noticed my picks last week you can see my confusion, given the recent history of the two programs, why I was picking LaX.  I guess old habits are just hard to break.

Thanks, unique, I hadn't thought of it in that light.   One of those extra reps was an interception.  ;)

Sak--I would be surprised if any bad feelings exist between WW/RF  coaching staffs. There is no evidence of that in my conversations with RF coaches.

Badger Warhawk ...

If you based your predictions on recent history, you would definitely have picked EC. They have beaten LX 5 of the last 7 games.

They also have won more conference home games since 2000 than any other WIAC team. I'm sure you'll call that "stretching," but I'm not sure how. It's simply another fact.

I know, that's why I said this in the pickem...
"UW-Lacrosse @ UW- Eau Claire....EC is 4-2 in the last six meetings with LaCrosse.   They're at home,  have a competitive defense and seemingly have their offense back on track.  So why am I picking LaCrosse?"

Damn old habits, they're as hard to break as the urge to periodically pick Platteville.  :D ;)

I was just goofing around with the "reach" comment.   Didn't you notice that I inserted a winking guy after the comment?  No offense intended but you were coming across a little defensive with your initial respect post and then you came up with a stat that covered a century to support it.  No biggie and personally I was pleased to see EC take LaCrosse down.....again.
