Looks like the Rabel hit against LAX pretty much runined thier season.  Very enjoyable to see them quit on the season as a ww fan.

IMO, that might have contributed to LC's problems, but losing two more LB's (leading tackler Dane Cordes and Drew Kiefer, leader in sacks) last week vs EC to an already depleted defense, might have been a bigger blow. Their offense has shown they can score, but they have also shown they can't stop anybody, either.  But, it is a team game.

Congrats to Coach O'G and the Falcons.

What a league! For the record, if you'll check my posts, I never said I thought the Blugolds were "that good." I said I was proud of what they had accomplished to this point. As they proved today, there is little margin for error with their talent level. Still, they were a blocked XP away (by the way, it would have tied it at 21 with less than a minute left and made the ensuing onside kick unnecessary). But, hey, the 'Golds have "lived by blocked kicks." So perhaps it's fitting that they "died" by a blocked kick.

Also, a last-minute pass in Paul Mirr's direction found him wide open, but Schaeuble overthrew him. "Them's the breaks." As always, the Falcons play hard from start to finish and earned their Homecoming win.

The "naked reverse" in the 3rd quarter was entertaining. I admit I did cringe when he hopped the chainlink fence on the far side. Talk about a "small" margin for error! :D

Wow, we can agree on one thing!!   ;)

P.S.  The "naked reverse" sounds...interesting...pls tell more.  Are you going to leave me "hanging" in suspense?

Come on, bgbacker, do tell us about that "naked reverse".   I saw a unique game in Stevens Point today.  Stout played hard and was very competitive but again, found a way to lose.  Point has great weapons at the receiver spot and both are basketball players.  Kalsow the leader in catches but the real deal is Jenkins, a freshman from Rufus King who was recruited to play basketball and is very talented.  SP has now won 7 straight conference games by 3 points or less.  Now that is an amazing stat.  I don't think they can play with WW, though, based on what I saw today.

P.S.  Hey, Fred.  I really think you guys have something going.  Congrats to a class act John O.  Next week you should plan on the Ale House after the homecoming game.  I will try to make you feel better with kind words and a beer after your tough loss at Williams Stadium.

Kestrel broke the story on his post, but it's true ... there was a streaker who dashed onto the field during the 3rd quarter at Ramer... he ran about a 3.6 40...and then went out of bounds at about the 20 .... ran to the chain link fence...hopped over it... and disappeared into the fields beyond.

Although both Nathan Anderson and Cory Sartorelli had very good days, it was definitely the longest run of the game! He proved once again that to score, you've gotta let it all hang out!  :D

The other highlight was seeing my first-ever "cow-udder" hat! Love Moo U!

The Warhawks dominated the titans again today. Not counting the forfeit win in 2002 the Titans have not beaten UWW since 1976.
The offense did spudder a little bit as they went very conservative with 3 time outs at the end of the first half. I had to wodner if Barry Alvarez was coaching the team,as thats somethign he would have done taken two time outs into the locker room with him.Special teams was UGLIER then UGLY, and need to be fixed.
The Defense was ocne again steller. Two weeks in a row.The high light of last week was watchign good old coach Z walk away from UWW upset as his O for UWRF got shut down, byu his good old buddy Brian Borland"Thats a joke as they two have not talked since the fall of 2005 when Borland said he was going for the head job.
Okay next week will be another fantastic W for the Hawks, and get them ready for the big show down with Mary Hardin Baylor as if they beat them they will be back at #2 in the polls and almost guaranteed a #1 seed for the playoffs without having to travel except to the stagg bowl.
GO HAWKS OR GO HOME
Gotta beat the best to be the best otherwise your just one of the rest

Let's hope it happens as somethign like this will bring all the hawks back to UW-W

Not so fast on this one razor, as the Oshkosh view of history tells a different story.

Nov. 14, 1987 Oshkosh 21- at Whitewater 3
Nov. 13, 1982 at Oshkosh 25- Whitewater 15

Whitewater's own records indicate the same (scroll down page about 1/2 way).

Wow...you better tap on the brakes a bit.  There's a lot of football to be played.  Next week will not be a cake walk by any stretch, and MHB looks like they have a very solid team this year.

Someone please comment on the Hawk's passing game this year.  Listening to the games on the radio, it sounds like there are a lot of passes missing the mark and a lot of missed opportunities.  Is that a concern for anyone at this juncture?

KitchenSink

They don't throw down the field as much as they have in the last couple of years.  Whether that's because Jacobs had a cannon vs. Jones more average arm, or because the current crop of receivers can't get long I don't know.  Does anyone know why Gifford hasn't played the last 2 weeks?

I thought Jordan Wells would turn into a deep threat, but we haven't seen that.  Is the coordinator change part of the mix, too??

Yesterday, Oshkosh's defense played very well.  Other than Beaver breaking a few (a very few) tackles, the Osh D was really swarming and not missing any tackles.  The WW pass game was almost entirely a quick look, and if nothing there immediately, Jones would take off and run.

That may have been a conservative mindset entering the game, reinforced by the WW D clamping down very well right from the start.  Ball security seemed to be the top concern after Beaver's fumble in the 1st.  May have been at the expense of possible plays - but the overall result worked out for the Warhawks.
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

I'm confused.  Is Stan Zweifel managing to run the UWRF offense from his office at Beloit Memorial High School?

Hey razor,

If you are talking Stagg Bowl then probably you should just "Go Home" and save the trip. ;)

Janesville,

Are you sure that shouldn't be a concern? ;D

I got my wish.  A win by point and whitewater this week to set up the match up for first place.  Im a point fan so of course I want them to win but I dont think it will happen.  Point makes to many mistakes.
Heres a question.  If Point only loses to Whitewater this year to go 9-1 or if they end the year 8-2 and the only team in the conference with 2 losses, do you guys think they will be in the playoffs.  If they go 9-1 I think they will but Im not sure about 8-2.
