Keep in mind the only record the selection committee is looking at for the Pointers is 3-1.  Those other three wins over NAIA teams don't count in their criteria.

I am just sitting around here in Montana and while surfing the channals ..... HOLY S%#$ its UWEC vs UWP football.  Man that is nice and I can't wait for the bball games to come on randomly.  NICE
You are only as good as the people around you.

I must say that after reading y'alls posts, you sound like a great bunch of people.  I so wish I could be there this weekend.  When we went to Delaware last Fall, the people were not very nice after the game.  We were ready to get out of there as soon as possible.

Question, how tall are y'alls DB's?  Our reciever, Patrick Oliver, is 6' 7" 215.  He jumps out of the "gym" so to speak and is extremely strong.  I know the running attack is our b/b, but this guy is nearly unstoppable and could be a weapon that is underestimated.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

2001 answer me one ?......I was in Texas last year and was impressed with your team especially your defense. How did you guys lose to Wesley?.....Never could understand that......

I could not figure it out either--I was in Delaware last December and I still cannot explain it --no excuses, Wesley definitely deserved to win the game, but UMHB seemed out of sync, got burned on a few long passes, a trick play, etc.  Also, our o line did not protect our QB well.

UMHB got it back to one score but a fumble return closed it out for Wesley.  I also saw the UMHB/UWW game in Texas and the scores don't add up do they?

In my opinion UMHB is certainly much better offensively this year, but we will get a true test and find out Saturday.  UMHB did lose a few people on defense but  I believe we are close to last year in quality-- of course we will also get a great barometer of that Saturday as well! I will be there--CAN'T WAIT!!

Let me be the first St John's fan to wade in on the Rankings. Looks pretty good to me, and totally understandable. After the first two, it's really a toss-up. I have no problem with UWW being above SJU based on the season so far. If UWW loses to UMHB by less than a TD, it will be interesting. SJU has to win out to have a chance at the #1 seed.

I concur with Rich on the out of sync observation against Wesley last year. From my perspective, over the past few seasons, UMHB has had one or two games each year where they didn't seem to show up and have been out of sync. Christopher Newport and Wesley were the two games last year. Thus far, this year, the CRU has been playing like a team on a mission. I think the opener with CNU set tone. UMHB has been taking care of business each and every week.

UWW has played a tougher schedule to this point. I don't think the UMHB starters have played more than 2 1/2 quarters all season. Saturday's game will be a good barometer for the CRU.

I was at the game in Texas last year. It was the most exciting 7-3 game I have ever witnessed. I talked with a few UWW fans after the game. They were first class.

I would love to be in Wisconsin for this showdown. But with a son playing high school ball, there is no way we can make it. We will be glued to our computer screens, though. It should be another tough, tight game.

Well, they could put Gabe Shultz on him at 5'5"   178 lbs or Matt Blaziewske who is 5'11"  185 lbs or even Andy Murrey who is 6'2"   205 lbs but my vote would be for Ben Farley who is 6'5  200 lbs and has 4 interceptions so far.  ;) :D ;D

What is the matter, 2001?  Not sure your monster running game will be enough anymore?

I guess Gabe Schultz shrunk a couple inches since I posted this (sorry for the repost, but I think it applies)

Mary Hardin-Baylor was down 12 in the fourth quarter in the national semifinals at Mount Union in 2004. Passing situation? No, not really. They still pounded it right at Mount Union and came back to win.

If you run, run, run, sometimes you're going to win by the run (like you mentioned in 2004) and sometimes you die by the run. Last year WW/UMHB, they rushed 37 for 49 net yards and passed 27 times.  I guess as a defense, you either stop their run or you don't (rather straight forward approach).  Their record shows they've been pretty successful at it, so nothing more for me to say.

You'd learn something about their passing game at the link I posted.

I've read that a couple weeks ago.  Just hope WW doesn't put 5'7" Gabe Schultz on their big boy.

BoBo,
Warhawkfootball.com's roster has him at 5'5".  UWW football page has him at 5'6".  I like your number better so let's go with that!   ;D

 Any way you slice it - 6'7" vs  5'7" =  don't like the match-up  ;)

Not to worry, BoBo.   I'm pretty sure that Borland can do math.   8)
