Any way you slice it - 6'7" vs  5'7" =  don't like the match-up  ;)

Not just 6'7", but a 6'7" former center that played pro basketball in europe and can jump.  You just have to throw it high and in the area.

I'm sure the defensive coaching staff have things well in hand.  A bend, but don't break, opportunistic, ball hawking (insert adjective here) DB's along with constant pressure from the guys up front will have a chance to stymie their once in a while passing game. Looking over their season individual stats, Oliver, in 7 games with 16 catches, 8 TD's/22 yard avg. Force them into 3rd down situations by stopping the run on first and second might, IMO, force them into doing things their are not comfortable doing.  That is using their big guy as a possession receiver, not a TD machine with the high, long ball. With their running game what it is, it probably makes a guy like Oliver even more effective than he really is. Contain the run and you might contain that passing attact. The other receivers look to be their weak link on offense, however, they don't pass much so it is hard to tell. umb8904, how well does he run the floor, oops, field after the catch?  His longest gainer was 79 yards, but from what I read from the MHB fans, it sounds like they just throw the ball up and let him use his size and jumping ability to haul in the catch.

I like our chances more if Josh Welch has trouble getting elevation on his throws.  I think our little football guys can out wrestle your big basketball player in a loose ball situation!  ;)

The first NCAA III West Regional Rankings were released this afternoon...West Region...

No. Name In-Region Overall
1. UW-Whitewater 6-0 6-1
2. St. John's 7-0 8-0
3. Central 7-0 8-0
4. Occidental 6-0 6-0
5. St. Norbert 7-0 8-0
6. Redlands 4-1 5-1
7. Bethel 6-1 6-1
8. Wartburg 7-1 7-1
9. Linfield 3-1 4-2
10. UW-Stevens Point 3-1 6-1

Reaction from St. Johns fans will be coming shortly!

The way you phrased that just proves that EVERY WEEK IS JOHNNIE WEEK!  But really, I'm perfectly fine with the rankings.  Until someone from the West beats the Warhawks, the road to the Final Four should go through Whitewater.  Not that I'd complain if they got beat by UMHB or got upset in the tournament...

Were these people getting ready for a football game or their annual colon scope?  Because they didn't seem all that fired up.

Also, I think Touchdown Tommy had relations with the chick in front of the big Warhawks logo last time he was in town.

I've only watched 3 games this season, the most surprising of which was the HSU game.  Oliver was obviously a part of the game plan, and what I saw was a tall wideout that had good hands a good body control.  He ran possession routes mostly designed to move the chains, not all og which were jump balls.  Don't let the stats fool you, Josh Welch can fling the ball if he needs to.

Not sure on that. This guy may only be 215, but it is all muscle.  Not a percentage of fat on that guy.  If anyone is going to do the strippin and rippin, it's Oliver.

Question, how tall are y'alls DB's?  Our reciever, Patrick Oliver, is 6' 7" 215.  He jumps out of the "gym" so to speak and is extremely strong.  I know the running attack is our b/b, but this guy is nearly unstoppable and could be a weapon that is underestimated.

Well, they could put Gabe Shultz on him at 5'5"   178 lbs or Matt Blaziewske who is 5'11"  185 lbs or even Andy Murrey who is 6'2"   205 lbs but my vote would be for Ben Farley who is 6'5  200 lbs and has 4 interceptions so far.  ;) :D ;D

What is the matter, 2001?  Not sure your monster running game will be enough anymore?
          (LOL, just ranking your chain)

Hey, Daniels and Thrasher can hold their own.  And because we are two deep on the O line, we can run guys in and out all day long and keep them fresh.  Those guys, too, are pure muscle and can run over anyone.  Seen Marion Barber lately, how he runs over guys, that is what these guys do, and oh yeah, they are lightning.

Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

Guess what???

It doesn't work  ;D

It may yet. I uploaded video that I shot of Oliver from the HSU game to youtube and it hasn't showed up in my videos yet.  It's about 5 minutes long and has video of Oliver and Thrasher (mostly Oliver) and a cameo by Josh Bowerman.

Thanks for the link to the State Journal,  BoBo,

"Jones gives a lot of credit to his backup, senior Brian Ryczkowski, for acclimating him to the offense and the expectations that go along with Whitewater football the past few years.
All through the summer we were throwing and we started a good relationship then," said Jones, who has completed 109 of 188 passes for 1,232 yards and 12 touchdowns thus far. "All through camp we talked and helped each other out with cover ages and reads. When I come back to the sideline, the first person in my ear is Brian, trying to help me out and explain to me what's going on out there. He's one of the most unselfish people on our football team. People like him around this program are why we're successful."

Wonderful to hear Ryczkowski get credit from Jones.  After hoping to finally lead this team in his senior year, he was relagated to the back up role once again after Jones won the spot. Hearing how he has put the teams needs before his own shows amazing character.  Sure would be nice to see him get some playing time when Danny sits down.  He certainly deserves it.

Well, at 6'7"   215,    it may be all muscle but how much of it can there be?  Sounds down right lean to me!   ;)   Remember, while we have lost Kleppe who was a very special player, UWW does return 8 out of 11 from last years defense and they held Kmic to 111 total yards in the championship game with 61 coming in the final quarter, (39 in the last 7 and 1/2 minutes,) after game was in hand for the Raiders.  It took Micheli's arm and Garcon to win that game against the Hawks.   Great backs may get a good quarter or so against them but they will not run for 4 quarters, IMHO.  But the one thing you guys have said that has me a little concerned is the TWO O-lines.  The Hawks D-line better be well rested and hydrated for Saturday.  I know that your RB's are great talents and will get yards, for sure, just don't see the Hawks front 7 being decimated as has been implyed by some of the MHBU posters but, hey, if they are, I will lead the charge to congratulate the Cru.

Nice write-up from one of the local newspapers that covers UMHB that shows much respect for the Warhawks: http://www.temple-telegram.com/story/2007/10/25/44487

One thing is for certain, all our comments on the forum don't count for squat. The two teams will do all the talking that matters on the field Saturday. I anticipate a physical, well played game by two top-shelf programs.

Razor is a great kid and I have a lot of respect for how he's handled the situation with Jones.  It had to be a big disappointment but he's risen above it and that, my friends, takes character.  Razor is a kid that I would expect will do well in life.

6'7", 215 lbs.....In Wisconsin we call them string beans. ;)

St Norbert's fifth in the region....I'm not certain that there is a team in the WIAC they could beat.
