It really isn't a level playing field (or in Stout's case - a level billiard table).

This Saturday's game will be the last time someone will try to make one in the corner pocket, unless Menomonie HS gets another playoff home game.

BDB,
Do you know something that many of us may not?  Are they replacing the turf?  Are they going to make it blue, a la Boise St.?  What is the change?

Just as I am making the move to satellite so I can get the Big Ten Network and NFL package, Charter announces that they will have a free WIAC channel on demand.  From Warhawkfootball.com:

The WIAC Channel will feature athletic events from the premier Division III conference in the country. "Over 80-percent of the athletes that compete in the WIAC are from Wisconsin high schools," stated WIAC Commissioner Gary Karner. "Charter's decision to provide its digital customers with free access to WIAC and WIAA Channels speaks volumes about Charter's commitment to Wisconsin sports at all levels," Karner continued. "This agreement provides our students and fans, as well as the over 300,000 WIAC alumni currently residing in Wisconsin, the ability to view countless WIAC athletic events involving teams from the premier Division III conference in the country and all at no additional cost to the customer. The WIAC couldn't be more pleased to be partnering with Charter on this groundbreaking development--a first of its kind in the history of Division III athletics."

I sense a dead horse about to be beaten.

Ya, and I hate myself for taking the first whack!   ;D

While perusing the UWW/UW Oshkosh program that I got at the UWW.UMHB game ;) I couldn't help but notice that of the 71 underclassmen on the team, 25 were "Pre Business" majors. What exactly is that, and why is it so popular, at least among the football players? Another 11 were Phys Ed majors.

I also forgot to add how impressed I was by WR Aaron Rusch, then I look at my UWW/UWO program that I got at the UWW/UMHB game, and see he's just a freshman. He looks like a good one.

retagent- I just realized, that since it turned out Oshkosh is a much better team than UMHB, you owe us another dollar for THAT program.
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

With any luck, I'll see you at the SJU/UWW III game, and buy you a brewski. Will that even up the tab?

One last comment from Texas and one question, and then I will retire to the South region where we apparently belong, at least for  now.  I agree that top to bottom the WIAC provides the best competition week after week.  Almost all the other conferences, even very good ones, have a few or more really weak teams.

Now my question--the WIAC schools seem to be pretty logically distributed geographically but then there are 3 in a very small area in the west--River Falls, Stout and I believe Eau Claire if I have my geography straight. Someone enlighten me.  I talked to some Stout parents at a women's basketball tourney in Georgetown, Texas at Southwestern University last December and they explained about the Stout name. Does Senator Stout have something to do with the 3 schools so close? Thanks!

People in that part of the state aren't as smart as those in the rest of the state, and need more education.

Are a lot of fans from Whitewater going to the game @ Menomonie this weekend?  The game will be a dandy.  I know Whitewater would be a heavy favorite as Stout has not won against UWW since 2001.  The underlieing stat in the games with these two teams is sacks which leads to offensive line play.  The other thing that was glaring was turnovers (aren't they always).  The team with the big plays will win as the time of possession has not been important as of late in this series.  I am looking to see a slobber-knocker as I know UWW has the linebacking core that does inflict their will upon the opponents.

Thats a hard question. With an actual free weekend I have the opportunity to possibly watch a much higher profile game 30 minutes away from Whitewater ;) or I can go up to Menomonie and watch the Hawks beat the Blue Devils on what I assume is senior day................hmmmmmmmm

Retagent... UWW is known for its business school (one of the tops in the nation) and its education program... It just reflects the majority of the student population... About 3/4 of my close group of friends (out of 20 or so) are business majors...

retagent, in case you were wondering WR Aaron Rusch is listed as a freshman in the UWW/UMHB program too.   ;)

He's done a nice job with the opportunity he's gotten this season.

I'm not suggesting anything other than the WIAC schools have more students which gives them an advantage.  We all know which school has the most men's championships don't we (of course most are in track and field)

My wife and I are going to be in Chicago next week for a conference, any suggestions on food places?
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.
