Maybe my posts are ignorant to some just like others are to me.  But that is my opinion, that some posts are ignorant or SILLY.  To me its just impossible to me to watch football and say that Beaver is not the best back in the WIAC.  That is all Im saying.

Ill take Sweetness for sure.   Go Bears.

One of the most entertaining games I saw was a 2004 matchup between Linfield and UW-Stevens Point, in the Dairy State here...

The Pointers had leads of 21-18 at the half, and 35-25 after three quarters. But then some kid named Brett Elliot threw three TDs in the fourth, and Linfield went home winners, 46-35...

I didn't get to see that one, but I listened to it on the radio. We never count our 'Cats out until the game is over, and that one was a heartstopper. It still didn't compare to the game with the Warhawks, though. That was one for the ages.

Coco, I agree, that was an incredible game.  It is hard to really explain how incredible if you were not lucky enough to experience the drama first hand.  Best game I have ever seen.  I, too, have been a Cats fan ever since!

A big congrats to the Warhawks and their coaching staff on their win over the Blue Devils and clinching the WIAC for the 3rd straight year in a row. One game away from making it 3 straight undefeated conference championships.   Not buying this talk about UWW being undeserving because every game was not a blow out, offense not consistant, etc.  The WIAC is recognized as the toughest conference in D-3 to play in.  Wins here are difficult by any standards and the AQ of the WIAC has earned it the hard way.  Kudos to Stout for playing a good hard fought game.  They played us very tough.  They always do, especially in their house.  Will be glad to see that crappy turf being updated.   ;D  Time to get ready for, "Whose Next,"  Hawks and beat the Pioneers!

Unbelieveable!  The WIAC gets FIVE teams into the NCAA Volleyball Tournament.  They take 4 of the 19 Pool C bids.  Platteville finished 7th in the league, but made a run to the WIAC tournament championship match and got a bid.

I'm very happy for our league, but don't you wish our football and basketball teams could get that kind of consideration?

I knew that three, Whitewater, Oshkosh and Eau Claire, were in and LaCrosse has been hanging around 20th nationally for much of the season so I thought they were a possibility but Platteville surprised me even with their run in the conference tournament.

Of course 61 teams are invited to the women's volleyball postseason tournament and only 32 to the football postseason so it would be difficult to get many more than two.  The league has been doing better basketballwise since the field was expanded and 18 pool C bids became available.

Gee stealth. You seem to have it all figured out. If I was as pi%$ed off as you I'd take my toys and go somewhere else. If I believed as you do, I would not be able to, in good conscience, live in such a corrupt society.  By the way, how many courses have you taken at Wharton in order to be so knowlegeable about what they teach. I guess you don't have to be a CEO in order to be an idiot.

By the way, it's NAFTA(North American Free Trade Agreement), and "They're"(not their). I hope they teach English better at WIAC schools that you have shown.

I totally agree that everyone is entitled to their own opinion in saying who they believe is the "best of all time"   Just as Goo played with Mr. Beaver for 3 years I played with Mr. Wurth, so I therefore believe had Chad been under the same circumstances as Justin he would have accomplished as much if not more in his 4 years as a Hawk.  The teams at WW the past 3 years or so are far better than the teams I played on both offensively, defensively, and special teams wise.  There is nothing wrong with people stating their opinions, however nobody will ever know who was really the best because everybody plays on different teams in different era's.   I have played and watched a lot of football in my life and especially around the WIAC the past 7 or 8 years and I believe there is probably a list of between 7-8 RB's in that era that are worthy of being argued as the best back in WIAC history.  Just as Goo would definitely be in the discussion as one of the best o-lineman in WIAC history.  Congrats again to WW for another conference championship, lets hope this is the year we get after the Mount!!

Warhawk fans might crucify me for this but I think player of the year should be Andy Moriarty.  He means more to his team than Justin Beaver does.  Not saying Beaver doesnt mean anything to his team.  Moriarty I think is better.  Thats my opinion.

Happy Monday to you Old Indian. Nice to see your in such a good mood. Hope you have a great week.

I did play with Beaver as well as playing with Wurth my opinion still stands, Beaver is the best by far.  In my opinion Beaver is a great big reason why the last 3 years have been so successful.  Wurth was a great back but is no Beaver.
To change the subject: Here is my 2007 lst team all conference selections:

QB-Harmon/Jones
RB's- Beaver, Moriaty, Andersen
WR's- Everson, Zwiefel, Mrkvicka
OL-Allen, Ramsier, Darmody, Schmitz, Gyllin
TE-?
AP-Genslinger
P- Schaeuble
K-Schebler

DL-Neuman, Orgizovich, Booze, Troia, White
LB-Raebel, Borzick, Stenbroten, Baillargeon
DB-Blaziewske, Kent, Farley, Schills, Winney

Uniamous Dec- Beaver, Moriaty, Zweifel, Allen, Ramsier, Schebler, Neuman, Ogrizovich, Raebel, Baillargeon, Blaziewske

A featured running back's primary job is to gain yards rushing.  List as many runners and go back as far as you like and the fact remains that one running back tops them all at doing what they're on the field to do and that running back is Justin Beaver.  He's not only broken the all time rushing record he has shattered it.   He's done it with opponents stacking the box and setting up defensive schemes specifically aimed at stopping him.

There are several good backs in the league this year but Beaver stands above all of them.   That's my opinion.

I really do think Beaver is a great running back, but I was definitely shocked at the Stout game this past weekend (first time watching live-no radio or tv broadcasting).  If they stat change has been made official, taht would make much more sense as he did have two great runs.  He is definitely WAY better than Moriarity.
What did Moriarity do running the ball against some of the best run defenses in the WIAC?
UWW-64 yds.
Stout-72 yds.

These numbers are not put up by the best back in the league.

Liepold has done a great job but he inherited all the talent.  Glaser turned a team around that didnt have a good season last year.

Goo:  great football minds think a like.  I noticed that we both agree on alot of the same players for all-conference.  But looking over both of our selections we made some mistakes.  I put 4 River Falls players on first team.  You put 5.  If they dont win this weekend they take second last.  The second last place team doesnt deserve that many first team players.  That means that the only team with probably more would be Whitewater.  I had 3 La Crosse guys and so did you.  If they lose this weekend they tie with River Falls if they also lose.  They dont deserve 3 guys.  You have I think 0 Eau Claire players and I had 4 maybes.  If they win they take second.  That means they will ahve atleast 3 players on first team.  I had 1 pointer and 3 maybes you had 0.  If they win they will take a tie for 3rd.  That means they will probably have 2 first teamers.  It interesting that we gave credit to the bad teams and not the better teams.  Should be interesting come next Monday in the meeting for all conference.  In the end, if you win you get recognized, if you dont win, you dont.
