"Oshkoshs"    How many of them are there anyway?  ;)

I don't get it either, Goo.   But there a many things in life that I don't get so I'm not surprised by this one.

If this message board was a neighborhood, Old Indian would be the crusty old guy who sits on his porch and screams at the rest of us to get off his lawn.

Then he'd run out and grab our football and refuse to give it back if it happened to bounce into his yard.

Beaver is the best back to come out of this league in the last six years. No need for me to say anything to support it, that's why we have record books. To say that he's not that important to our team is a joke.

Moriarity is not on the level of Beaver. If he was, when his QB decides to have a bad day, Oshkosh can still win with him.

Ihavesomethingtosay- A lot of us don't crucify you. I don't even think you realize how negative your opinions are towards us and it's just because you simply don't like us. That's fine, to each his own but frankly most times we disregard your outlandish and sometimes ridiculous posts because your hatred has blinded you to what reality is.

ps. How come nobody has mentioned Mike Ferron for all-conference? From what I've heard he is more than a handful and a big reason why Point is doing so much better.

I never said I dont like Warhawk people.  Why would I hate you?  You like your team, why would I hold that against you.  It may seem like I don't like you guys because I take shots at you once in a while but it's all in fun.  I don't mean harm by it.  I have no problem with Beaver and think he's great player.  I never said he wasn't important to your team.  Don't misconstrue what I am saying.  What I meant was you could put a back up RB in for Whitewater (like last year) and they would still win.  You could put Oshkosh's back up in and they would be a lot more worse off than if Whitewater had to play their back up.  I don't have hatred toward anybody so I'm not blinded by it.  But that's your opinion.

I think Ferron didn't play this week and I watched Stevens Point game on tv last week and he got hurt in the first half.  It's hard to be all conference when you dont play in all the games and 5 guys have more rushing yards than you.  Could be a possible first teamer next year.

Now Beaver doesnt get catches and doesnt get as many TD's cause that is not as big in the UWW offense.

Interesting fact.  Since the 2001 season WW has only had 1 Rb have more than 10 tds and that was Beaver in 2004.  Myself and Wurth both had 9 one season.  Goes to show that WW doesnt care who puts the ball in the zone as long as point are on the board..  And mind you WW has had a RB go for atleast 1000 each of those years

With all this debate on who the better running back is, I just thought I'd mention that we have had the privilege of watching 3 of the best running backs in the history of the WIAC.  Beaver, Moriarty and Anderson are all great backs.  Statistically they are the #1, #5 and #7 WIAC running backs of all time respectively based on rushing yards gained.  They all have set the record for their respective team for career rushing yards.  I'm not going to speculate as to which player is better than the other, because in my opinion these 3 players are all MVP's for their teams and deserve to be 1st team All WIAC selections.

On another topic, how about Ryan Hanson from UWRF for all conference Tight End.  Not many people know or talk about him around the league but he has 47 receptions for 496 yards and 6 touchdowns.   He's 4th in the WIAC for receptions per game with 5.22 and 9th in the WIAC with receiving yards per game at 55.1 yards per game.  He makes play in key situations, notably against RF's come from behind win against Platteville 2 weeks ago, he had 2 key 4th down receptions for 1st downs late in the ball game to keep RF alive.

This post is getting quite long, but does anybody think EC has a chance at playoffs if they win on Saturday?  Would they be in if they win Saturday and hadn't lost to RF earlier this year?

badgerwarhawk

Obviously they are going to have to win and then it will probably depend on how the other teams in the region do.  As it stands today EC is not ranked in the region which won't help their case.

Unfortunately St Norbert will win the MWC and get an automatic berth when EC could beat them by multiple touchdowns.   But that's the way the playoffs go when they have less to do with getting the best teams into the post season.

If Eau Claire wins they have a chance.  They probably need a couple teams to lose but they have a chance.  The WIAC is the #1 ranked conference and with Whitewater putting  a beating on MHB increases the chance of the #2 team in the conference to make.  That win against MHB makes the conference look even stronger.  Not saying they will get in but I bet it makes the panel think about them.

I may have you out to be someone different but I thought you were the guy when WW lost to St. Cloud made that "oh Whitewater lost ;D" remark. If I have the wrong guy then I apologize. I do appreciate the "beaver" joke every now and then, but that goes a little bit beyond banter and more of wishing bad things upon them (not to sound that serious but I think you understand what I mean). If a conference team was playing against someone from a ifferent conference I would hope that they would want the conference team to win (unless they have some kind of tie to that other school).

Good point about Ferron. It's too bad he's missed a lot of time. At least he's only a sophmore

By D3Football.com which has no bearing what so ever on the selection process.  Strength of conference doesn't exist.

UWEC won't even get a mention.  The 7 Pool C's will be gone before they even get to the discussion table.  EC has the same problem Point had when we were discussing them.  All 3 non-conference games were out-of-region and therefore count for nothing.  At best they will be 5-2 in-region, which won't stack up against all the 9-1s, 8-1s and 8-2s.

Someone had mentioned the "Take that Whitewater" quote and I SERIOUSLY can't remember what that was all about.  I am not trying to be a jerk about the whole thing, but I just can't remember what exactly happened.  Didn't it have to do with stout's old coach?  Maybe I'm wrong, but can someone refresh my memory??

In 2005 the Blue Devils scored a touchdown to go up 10-0 in the first quarter I believe and someone in the booth (Stoutguy?) said "Take that Whitewater" We then went on a 32 point run and beat them. So now we kind of give them crap for that statement.

Im pretty sure I didnt make the remark you are talking about and I dont make any "beaver" jokes.  Thats like beating a dead horse(sorry didnt mean to bring that saying up again).  And I do want conference teams to beat non-conference teams.  Makes us look better.

Justin Beaver has had just regular season games since the beginning of 2005 that he has not gained at least 100 yards rushing in a game.  It was back-to-back nonconference games in 2006... Lakeland (52 yards in a 76-14 win) and  Azusa Pacific (86 yards in a 27-7 victory).  He also set an NCAA, All-Division rushing record of 2,420 yards in 2005. Just dropping some facts in the on-going argument.

J44

Beaver had 44 carries against Stout and maybe broke 3 or 4 tackles the entire game.   I believe Moriarity and Anderson both run harder than Goo's self proclaimed "best back in the history of competitive football"   What round is he going to get drafted in this year?

This years game against UMHB he had 77 yards.
