For a change of pace, does anyone think there will be some coaching changes this off season? I'm thinking Platteville and Oshkosh are possibilities. Kind of wonder how long LAX will tolerate things there also.

yea, possibly platteville and Oshkosh, but i doubt we'll see any change at La Crosse. things were going well at La Crosse until Raebel almost took Moe's head off. They were all down hill from there. Can't really blame the coach for injuries like that.

Mount fan here, but I'm surprised I haven't seen any Cap posters over here. Congrats on the #1 seed and move to the North. It looks like the Warhawks are putting together a nice little dynasty. WWW should move through this region with limited resistance. If you're like us, it's nice to see some new teams in the playoffs. I suspect St. John's could not be happier as well.

Cap is an outstanding defensive team. They are very athletic with a stud D-line and shut down corner. Their offensive was pretty good until they lost their starting QB and WR to season ending injuries. They just haven't been able to adequately replace these two and their offense has really struggled as a result. Their "D" may keep them in the game but I think they will need a little help in the turnover dept to have a chance to pull it out. I think Cap must keep WWW under 20 points to have a shot at this thing. Had Cap been healthy this could have been a great one.

How about those preseason rankings.  They are as follows:
1.  UW-Whitewater (7)
2.  UW-La Crosse (1)
3.  UW-Oshkosh
4.  UW-Stevens Point
5.  UW-Platteville
6.  UW-River Falls
7.  UW-Eau Claire
8.  UW-Stout

Actual standings:
Whitewater <0>
Eau Claire <+5>
Oshkosh <0>
Stevens Point <0>
La Crosse <-3>
Stout <+2>
River Falls <-1>
Platteville <-3>

I think this shows that you that the most difficult spots to pick in the WIAC is the bottom 4.  THis has to do with amny things.  Better matchups (good run game vs. terrible rush defense), locations of games (home vs. away) and montivation (mindset of playoffs).
Does anyone else have thoughts as to this?

Thanks for the analysis Shark. We've been hearing the same stuff regarding their defense being strong, but their offense has been struggling late. If they were healthy, it would be a great matchup. however, i doubt UWW and Cap would be playing each other in the first round if Cap was healthy

Log in here and I see a fight has broken out on the playground.   ;D  Shark, welcome thoughts about Capital.  It is a little unsettling having an unexpected group of opponents.  The more info the better.  I prefer the opponent I know to the one I don't but it sure will make this run interesting.  I keep hearing about the injuries to Capital's O. Tough to lose the QB especially after having to replace Pentello this year but I thought I heard the WR is back.  Any info on that? In reality, though, every team playing in the 11th week has plenty of injuries to deal with, I suspect.  The Hawks have a mighty fine DEFENSE of their own and let's not forget that the road to the North Region Championship goes through Perkins Stadium!

Old Indian....................I'd take a AQ from a weak conference any day to the at-large #2 team in the OAC.  Why are we playing them first round again???????  Guess you'd prefer that the Warhawk posters be arrogant??????

Cap's 2nd WR is back from injury.  Their stud All-American Derek Alexander is gone for the season.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Picking three of the four correctly doesn't suggest that it was so hard to identify the lower half of the standings.   Though EC and LaCrosse took everyone by surprise.

UWW should change their nickname from the Warhawks to the Worryhawks.  Your team has lost 3 games in three years, and you are worried about home game against an at-large qualifier?

UWW has an offense that averages 30 points a game, and their "fans" can't stop worrying about how weak it is.  But on Sunday, you guys are the first to crow about how great they are.

Some of us (like Scarver) have grown tired of your sky is falling routine.  It's really insulting to teams looking up at you in the standings.

Ya know what, I would rather worry about every team than get knocked off by a team like Platteville. You don't take anyone for granted be it Mt. Union or Lakeland. Maybe that's the difference though.

A team that comes to the Perk and has no offense can not win.  I dont care how good capitals defense is have fun stopping Beaver and the OLine.  Jones plays well in big games and this is a big game.  Im sure he will also be jacked for his first playoff game.  Im changing my prediction to 31-7.

Anybody who knows UWW football, knows that Scarver's message was designed to stir you fools up.   And like lemmings, you took the bait.

He's probably been to more Whitewater games over the past five years than any of you losers.

We heard the same argument about MHB D but they also came in with a legitmate running O. Well the results spoke for themselves.

That is fine that some Warhawk fans do not think that Capital will show up or play against them well.
We are talking about a team that has 5 losses to Mt. Union (2 of them were ending their playoff run by only 3 points) and has only lost to one other university the past 3 seasons.  With the Warhawk team I saw play this season, there is no way Danny Jones does anything well against this stellar defense that will be harassing him all day long.  I would love to see UWW win for the WIAC, but as I stated earlier (a month or two back), I do not see them getting past the first round of the playoffs.

This year, I would much rather be on the road @ SNC like UWEC than be at home against the #3 defense in the nation.

I cannot beleive the OAC board has the spread at over 20 pts. in this game.
