Things are just not going to well for EC.  After Nubs takes the 13-10 lead, EC takes kickoff into Norberts territory.  EC gets down to the 9, but gets a FG attempt blocked.  Norberts then fumbles on the insuing play and EC takes over at the 17.  EC throws a pick in the endzone.

Sounds like your WIAC officials are trying to job the Johnnies.

Good for them...glad they got the memo.  ;)

EDIT:  the WW announcers are also complaining about the officials...do you think they're from...?  Don't know :D

After a short hiatus, I just can't resist getting in a couple jabs to those who continue to defy common, and other, sense.

First dawarhawsrock predicts a 35 - 14 win then says that's not a monkey stomp. Please find out what a monkey stomp is before you contradict yourself.
Didn't any of you, (specifically willie warhawkforheisman) ever take a basic logic course. Personal attacks are not valid arguements. You don't persuade anyone by calling them names. It may be cute, it may be easy, but it's not logic.

Just to aid retagen's point a "monkeystomp" is a 21 point victory over an opponent.  I have a link to all the monketstomp rules that I will post when I can find it.

Here's the link- http://www.geocities.com/wardo78/msrules.html

Good god the live stats are killing me!!!  It is going from 20-15 to 20-15 to 27-14 to 21-14......I can't keep watching this.

ScheckDiesel

UWW wins 34-14... close game for a while until UWW D steps up...
Great play by #99 Ogrizovich... gets to the QB, ball pops up, catches it... takes it to the house from 20 yards out... after that play, all the momentum went to UWW's side...
Didn't see much from the much talked about Cap Run D... UWW had around 200 yards rushing, and a couple long Beaver runs were called back.. next up.. North Central

congrats to UW-EC on the win...

scheckelkn14 -

You didn't mention, but D. Jones played a pretty effective overall game, especially with his feet.

Too many penalties, though - 8 for 105...not to mention all the big yards lost on many of those mistakes.

WW D - CAP 27 rushes 34 yards.

Hello WIAC board

Congrats on your victory over Capital today.. We have spent a little more energy then you did but we are looking forward to the challenge of playing the Warhawks.

How is the tailgating scene at Whitewater?  Is there plenty of room close to the stadium for the NC followers to set up camp?

Plenty of room outside the Perk, plenty of room inside the Perk.

I know little about Whitewater except your dominance the last 3 years.  Based on stats..it looks like Beaver and Jacobs were outstanding players in 05 and 06 for you.
What are the strengths offensively and defensively for whitewater?

Beaver is still here - MVP of the WIAC.
Defense has been dominate all year - big, physical line and LB's, game changers, DB's solid, experienced, across the board and currently on turnover roll the past few games. Made one real mistake today, but otherwise very difficult to get momentum against them.
Offensively, not as dominating or consistant as the past 2 years.  But, they get the job done.
Seventeen warhawks made all-WIAC.  QB Danny Jones kind of a surprise 1st team All-WIAC.
Very good punter and kicker (All-american Schebler didn't kick today, but didn't really need him, injuried last week - don't know his status for next week.  They did missed a point after). Go to Warhawkfootball.com for more.

Just a quick note of congrats to the Warhawks and their fans.   Spent most of the week reading up on the deep program and tradion you have up North in Whitewater.   Was planning to get up to see the Perk and experience another D3 environment but an small time emergency kept me in Chicago.  Our boys from Columbus made us proud once again despite the injuries but they met a tougher foe today.  Best of luck to you.  I wish you the best all the way through the playoffs....that is until you possibly meet the OAC again.  Peace.

Way to go Blugolds! Congrats to the Green Knights - the game could have gone either way...

Looks like there will be a lot of turkey leftovers and some empty deer stands next weekend, as the players forego family sit-down turkey day dinners and deer hunting in the woods (up nort!) to prep for one more game as a reward for today's efforts...

In a game eeriely like last week's game against Stout, the Blugolds, trailing 20-17 with 2:50 left, had to count on the defense to shut down St. Norbert's after a punt put the Green Knights on their own 22... The 'Golds gave up but two yards, forced a three and out, then returned the punt to their own 39, setting up another last-minute win...

UWEC then goes 61 yards in 6 plays for the game winner, with punter of the year Mitch Schaeuble having completions of 12, 21 and the final, 28 yards, a TD to Chris Hull with 46 seconds left...

St. Norbert's starts its final drive at its own 32, but like last week, UWEC picks off a pass to close things out...

Gentlemen - Winning ugly, but hey, this ain't figure skating, and you don't get points for style... The only points that matter are the ones being posted on the scoreboard, and gentlemen, you have another week to see your score up there in lights... Good luck guys, and make the most of the opportunity that you are being rewarded with next weekend in a Sweet 16 match...

The La Crosse Tribune reported earlier that Scott Burnoski, former Eagle wide receiver and  2004 WIAC POY, had a tryout this week with the Green Bay Packers.

Burnoski, UWL's all-time leader in receptions, yards and TDs, had played football this spring/summer for the GB Blizzard AF2 team, leading that team in receiving yards with 775 and 7 TDs...
