So, I'm in a bar in Chicago last nite (no, this isn't a set-up for a joke) and I meet this girl who's a Lacrosse Grad.  I immediately tell her that both Eau Claire and Whitewater won yesterday in the playoffs.  She asks "how'd you know that" so I telll her about D3Football.com.  She thought I was the biggest dork, but, somehow I still got laid.

There's a first time for everything, I guess.

Not the shoes again!   ;)  Hey Bobo, I can't see the picture in your by-line.  Is that just me or is anyone else having the same problem.  Doesn't help to right click and click, "show picture."  Tried that already.  Just curious.
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

We'll be installing an synthetic surface this week, bring turf shoes.   :D

BoBo, the officiating crew was from Illinois.

BoBo - The game was close when I was bitchin', and it wasn't the only call. Good teams overcome that stuff I guess. As I said, the dominate/dominant thing has been ongoing, I thought I might have missed "the memo" on that change since I last attended classes - when they still wore leather helmets.

BoBo should have said if "I told you I'd have to kill you" but instead he pretty well summed up the press release version with a couple of add in's warranted. Intangibles:  this team plays with allot of heart and passion. Many of them have tasted the bitter pill of defeat in the big game and do not want thier legacy to be "Been there 3 times and nothing to show for it" Sure being runner up is something to be proud of but my take on thier mentality is that being #2 is just the first place loser. Not something they are entertaining. Second intangible is the two big games they had, the comeback against LAX and the beat down of MHB and what they took out of those. They can come back and they aren't intimidated.  X&O's, stats, etc. tell something but the heart is another. So expect the Hawks to carry that onto each and every game.

FormerCard -

Plenty of room outside the Perk, plenty of room inside the Perk.

I know little about Whitewater except your dominance the last 3 years.  Based on stats..it looks like Beaver and Jacobs were outstanding players in 05 and 06 for you.
What are the strengths offensively and defensively for whitewater?

Of course, there are two ways to avoid this.  One, as you intimated, is to win the big game.  The other?  I'll let you think about it and see if it comes to you.

scheckelkn14 -

You didn't mention, but D. Jones played a pretty effective overall game, especially with his feet.

Too many penalties, though - 8 for 105...not to mention all the big yards lost on many of those mistakes.

WW D - CAP 27 rushes 34 yards.

It's a mystery to me, too...going to have to look into it.  That thing is always getting screwed up...I'm thinking something or someone at the website doesn't like me.  That's ok, I know my mom likes me and that's all that matters.

BluGold Love;

Keys to beating down on Bethel;

1.)  Wrap up frosh running back Logan Flannery, the kid spins like a top and although slight of build, is tough to bring down.  They'll slam him up the middle.

2.)  Close the corner down on starting quarterback Ben Wetzell.  He loves to run, is big and heads right and left around the corner.

3.)  The Bethel offense will sneak a  pass on you occasionally.

4.)  The Bethel offense loves to hang onto the ball, hell, SJU had something like 18 plays in the second half a week ago and 4 of those might have been with less than 40 seconds left.

5.)  Do the WIAC proud and hammer Bethel.

Good tips, Dusty.  #5 would really make the Johnnies happy, too!   ;)

So there's no misunderstand, the problem I was referring to is at the website where the picture was from, not your website. Just want to make sure were clear with that.

I see that UWW has a grass playing surface. I hope NCC buys different shoes for their players. Today's game at Franklin was NCC's first game on grass this year. In their turf shoes, our backs and receivers slipped and fell several times on potential big plays.

Note to the Warhawks: run a lot of stop and go pass patterns  ;D

Devil Badger Gopher

Congrats to the Warhawks.  They really did come out to play.  I hope they continue on this upswing as they cannot have a let down in the playoffs.  The nice thing is for them as that these teams are probably some of the worst the UWW team played all year.  I am excited to watch UWW on TV in the Stagg Bowl again.

Congrats to EC as well.  It is great that they won when they were nto supposed to even make it in the bracket.  These things go a long way for a great conference.  I am going to try and nmake the Bethel-EC game, but there is no way I see a team from the MIAC that is a run first team beat a WIAC team.  I am definitely thinking a humbling upset for the Royals.
