I heard that NCC is going to stay home and watch the game on tv. WW can find a high school team with similar uniforms that can play equally as well as NCC can. :o

Old School G

Final score...I'm going to go 45-0.  Croak will hit a field goal and the third team D might, just might give up a touchdown.  But, I doubt it.

Hasn't the attendance been similar for these rounds the last 2 years?

ok, theoretically, if you were to play for a CCIW team who would it be and why?

Billy-o, man!

Until somebody can actually stop Whitewater's Offense, I doubt you will ever see any trick plays..   WW in a laugher this week 35-7..  Keep representing the WIAC like you always do!!

Boy, a lot of disrespect for North Central on these pages.  I mean, I hope the Warhawks win by 40 as much as anybody, but let's not be arrogant about it, people.  In looking at the roster for NC, I see a comparatively undersized defense so one would think that the O line and Beaver would hammer them up and down the field.

But they only average giving up 67 yards a game on the ground.  So they must know something about defending the run.  Now, they haven't played the UWW offense, so that per-game may not mean that much.  But this high-school team talk is stupid.

Voice has a fair point.  Was awfully weak to see such a small crowd.  Yeah, the rain made it pretty miserable, but you can't take playoff games for granted.  This weekend might be a little better because it's supposed to be drier, but  the TG weekend will shortcircuit any big numbers.  Kachel is giving out tickets to students, so hopefully there will be a decent gathering in the seats behind the bench.

What, would you rather be shopping?  Go to the game, people!!  Heck, you can get a free hot dog and soda before the game, if you're sick of turkey leftovers.
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

I predict a lot of passing by NCC...probably a more sophisticated passing attack than the dink and dunk of Capital...Farley and Borzick each get an interception

The Hawks will be pounding the rock very hard to keep the NCC passing offense off the field and because of the size advantage of the Hawk o-line

No disrespect from this poster.  You  might squeek in as an AQ but nobody who is playing in the 12th week is a cupcake!  Teams don't run on us and I don't think this game will be any different but defending the pass will be crucial once again.  More importantly, I don't think that the Hawks and coaches will make the mistake of underestimating NCC.

I am thinking UWW by atleast 35 points.  It will be bad.  I know I was one of the lone doubters last week, but give me a break, the hawks will win the next 2 games by an easier amount than any WIAC games this year.

Do they play with flags or just two-hand touch football down there?

I'm sure the weather and deer hunting played a role.  Plus as you might expect Capital brought a relatively small contingency with them.  But the lack of students is what impacted attendance the most and with it being Thanksgiving weekend the campus will be essentially deserted.   At least the small percentage of students who have stayed can get free tickets which pretty much eliminates the other excuse.   I hope that I'm pleasantly surprised by the number of students at this upcoming game but I don't expect it.

KS, no one here will play a down so they can be as brash as they wish.  Overconfidence and looking past opponents isn't something that the WARHAWK team and staff do.   I can guarantee you that they're preparing for North Central.  Perhaps we're insane but we want another shot at Mount Union and to a person everyone who matters knows that won't happen if we don't take care of our business first.

The irony is that we've been trying to schedule CCIW teams for years but none will play us.  Elmhurst even backed out of a scrimmage at the 11th hour and left us high and dry.  But because the NCAA moved us NC has no choice in the matter.   I get a chuckle out of that.

I agree with Badgerwarhawk. I don't think UWW will overlook NCC and i don't want to get too cocky about the game either. In other pickem leagues (like OCA) that factor in the spread have UWW favored by 21.5 (where they get that from, i have no idea).

I don't really care how much they win by, just as long as they stay healthy. that'll be the key on getting back to Salem.

both NCC's QB and RB were first team all CCIW, and they proven they can put points on the board. But then again, they haven't really played a defense that amounts to what they are going to see at the Perk this saturday!!!

As far as Elmhurst backing down, that sounds about right. My home town is around the Naperville (North Central College), Wheaton and Elmhurst area down in Ill. However i went to UWW obviously. When i go back home to visit, my parents friends talk about Whitewater like we're the Yankees of DIII sports. They say we are the big school that gets all the recruits (not just in football). and that schools like Elmhurst don't stand a chance against Whitewater because they get all the funding and recruits. I love it!!!

Hopefully the weather and holiday won't shy people away from the game. I know i'll be there though.

The strange thing about attendance is that other teams like the Johnnies and Mount Union were also down. These first two playoff games for the last two years have been pretty sparse in attendance.......getting a good spot at the Perk is nice but I would rather have the lot full with purple backers. As for North Central I hope we pound them I remember back a few years ago when they told a future solid Oline standout at Whitewater they weren't interested in recruiting him.....for that reason and the playoffs I am hoping for an all out monkey stomping. Pound the Rock and send them back to Naperville after a real beating......

Yeah, frankly, I don't think students are all that into paying to get in when most are getting in free with their student ID all year.

I will just add that my initial point about trick/misdirection plays was not that the Warhawks need to do them in order to be successful (or that such plays are even successful that often), but that the threat of such plays may make what they currently do even more successful.

Now e-mail me if your team wants to sign me as your offensive coordinator ;)

Pass defense is crucial to the W this week. I bet NCC has already seen the films from Capital and are putting in a heavy pass scheme. Not that WW was bad in pass D but there were some break downs that were exploited buy their QB and a pretty good receiving corp. The only word in the minds of the D coordinator should be "blitzkrieg" this week.  Turn Raeble and Griz loose early and often to force turnovers.  Jones/Beaver and the O line are really in sync so no worries there. I know "pound the rock" is the standard trumpet call but I say " receivers hold on to the rock"  ;D
WW by 21 and going away.

Very true... I asked a girl if she was going and she said she couldn't afford it... I nearly killed her... it's only a $4 ticket with your ID, and DLK gives out some free tickets too...
