A couple of thoughts regarding the last couple of days posts:

1.  I saw NCC play earlier this year:
a). Sulo is solid, but, he might be banged up.
b). Their WRs push off like crazy especially that little Mastrino character.
c).  DBs are suspect at best.  Should be able to pass.
d). Couple of good linebackers tho.  Not up to par with WW's tho.

2. Can someone explain to me why NCC wore turf shoes on grass last week?  The field wasn't frozen was it?  Did I read the "cardinaldad" post right?

3. I am astonished that NCC didn't recruit Sakellaris.  When I saw them, not one of the current o-lineman was remotely in his class.  Plus, they heavily recruit the area.

4. Barber Greene is right about the threat of the trick play.

5. Raebel better get an NFL shot.  No disrespect to last year's guys, but, he has legitimate dimensions.  And he's a FIB.

6. I was a FIB in WI so I know, nothing trumps deer season.

7. Doesn't it cost more than $4 for a cup at a kegger now?  Good job on not killing anyone.

One last thing.  Their fans are annoying.  Not Hardin-Baylor annoying, but, they got a couple of jags.

Reasons for poor attendance at UW-Whitewater playoff football games:

-costs money

-the dorms actually close during the Thanksgiving break (students cannot stay in their own room if they wanted to)

-colder weather

-weekend/Thanksgiving: many students live within three hours of UW-W and go home for the weekend/holiday...family over football...I cannot fault that priority

-hunting season

-lack of school spirit/loyalty: many students do not feel a loyalty to UW-W until at least their third year of school. Until they chose to go to Whitewater for academic reasons, their allegience was with the Badgers, pro teams, and their high school. It also helps to know someone on the team or involved with the athletic program...many do not.

-end of semester: homework, studying, and tests...lame excuses...but they're used

Attendance will suck this week again because of the holiday weekend. However in two weeks when there is snow on the ground and it's colder then crap. The place will be packed. Go figure the UWW Students show up to the big games Mary Hardin Baylor, and then who ever we play in the game before the stagg bowl.
Thats how it has been the last two years, and thats how it will be this year again.
Unless something unexpected happens and the Hawks lose however I highly doubt that will happen. Yeah I am pretty sure that won't happen for a couple of weeks, if at all.

You know, fans are all nice and good.  But, anybody who's played D-III football knows that you don't play for the fans.  You play for your team and your family/friends.

The people who are important will be there.

I don't know about the other UWW fans... but knowing that we have one of the best teams in D3, one  of the biggest stadiums in D3, and not filling it during the playoffs pisses me off...

I am thinking UWW by atleast 35 points.  It will be bad.  I know I was one of the lone doubters last week, but give me a break, the hawks will win the next 2 games by an easier amount than any WIAC games this year.

Do they play with flags or just two-hand touch football down there?

Man, I tried to stay away from this one...I am a Warhawk, but, don't even start with the "Down There" bullschnizzness

Congratulations to UWW's Justin Beaver for being named one of the 10 finalist (for the 2nd time) for the Gagliardi Trophy.  All the finalist should be be commended, but let's hope this is the year of the Beaver!!

I would just add that this is the first year that fans get to vote!  Link is on the front page!  Just cast my vote!  Congrats, Beav!  I hope a Warhawk can get it this year!

I've just cast my vote this morning for MUC O-Lineman Derek Blanchard.  'Bout time a lineman wins this award.

Wow, why didn't you vote for one of the Johnnies on the list?
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Janesville;  I might drink your Groovey Brew and I might wear dark red blinders however I am open minded.   8)

I didn't notice Moriarity's name on the list.  ;)

I voted for Beaver as well, I love the Johnnies but also don't wear blinders.

We all know where my votes going but Blanchard is a nice second.  Two times missed Moriaty on there.  Did I read it wrong.  Thats 3 years in a row a UWW player has been nominated.  Pretty good if you ask me.
