That momentum that he is referring to lasted about 14 seconds after NCC pulled to within 3 points with 9:38 left on the clock in the 3rd.  Hawks answered back with that 70 yard TD pass on first and ten with the clock at 9:24 putting the spread back to 10 points.   Don't get me wrong, it was a scary 14 seconds.   ;)

So you are saying that NCC was not a very good team... and really didn't give you much of a game I assume....

Absolutely not, I already congratulated the NCC team and their fans on a very good game played against the Hawks.  But, considering the Hawks were ahead anywhere from 10 to 21 points for most of the game with the exception of 14 seconds................well,  it is all relative, IMHO.

Well, there was those three posessions in a row ending in TD's that took NCC from 0 to 21.  Guess it was scary for a little more than 14 seconds now that I really think about it.  ;D

If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Anyone around when Jake Wolter was an All-Conference cornerback and safety?  I would think that he would make the All-WIAC.  He was great.

Also on that list should be Derrick Levake as an offensive linemen.  He spent a few years in the NFL, and was also an All-American as a wrestler at UWW and was an Army Ranger.  Needless to say, he stabbed people in the face whenever he felt like it, because he was that good.

I was fortunate enough to play with both of these guys.  Jake was an amazing athlete.  Coming out of high school, he was all state in football, basketball, and baseball.  He came in as a true freshman, and all of us in the defensive secondary knew from day one he was special.  What was crazy about Jake is he was never that fast, but was such a good athlete that he always somehow MADE PLAYS.  Punt returns or picks......ALWAYS.  If I were forming a defensive unit, I would absolutely have him in my secondary out of all of the guys I played with/against.

Levake....ridiculous.  He was absolutely a man amongst boys.  He was one of the guys on the offense that, after Bu was done yelling at us defensive players on the sidelines, I would literally just watch in amazement as he would dominate play after play.  He would pancake one guy and move onto another every down.  Probably the greatest thing about Derrick was the person he was.  He was one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet, was a motivator, and was a tremendous leader.  Great teammate and definitley someone you would want to go to battle with.  As you can tell, I admire that guy a lot.

Those were two of the best at their postions in the WIAC during my time without question.

Listening to the game on the radio, for a while there, I didn't think we could stop them.  When NCC pulled within three points, I actually started to freak out a little bit.  NCC basically did what they wanted to during that period of the game.

Can I just point out that this Levake, of whom I have never before heard, strikes me as both a good player and a good person.  Shame the likes of he are no longer desired in WIAC football, as if you aren't a trash talking sh*t kicker you aren't anything...

The best description of the NCC game that I've seen was one that described it as akin to watching three games in one.  The first game was dominated by the WARHAWKS 21-0.  Game two went to NCC 21-3 and the final game was again dominated by WHITEWATER 35-7.  Obviously it's a single game of 60 minutes but it was funny how I felt we were totally in control during the first game, had lost much of it in game two and then took total control again in game three.  It's the bottom line that counts though and that was, to borrow a phrase, a monkey stomping.

Gee wiz OzJ, I thought for sure you were going to say something totally nice on the WIAC board for once.  :-\
Had you stopped when you were ahead, I would have considered sending a little k your way.   :o

It is shame, isn't it?  Because if there were players in the WIAC who were both good football players and had good character off the field, they might actually have a shot at being a Gagliardi Finalist or maybe even making it into the final four..............................Oh wait, never mind! ::) ::) ::) ??? ???

Guys, the ALL-WIAC list only shows players from the mid nineties until today so it is more of an all-decade team.  I will add my two cents about Jake W. as he was one hard hittin' sun-of-a-gun.   There are some names I do not think belong on that list, but those are just opinions and I dod not want to call anyone out.  You gotta give props to the mohawk man of ours and  former WIACer on WVU as being possibly the best player to come out of the conference ever.  The thing I remeber of Lavake was he was so much older as he had already went through his training and maybe a tour before playign in the WIAC so that limited hiw NFL shot, IMHO.  I am thinking more LaCrosse players from the 90's could be on the list as that is still the bst dynasty in the WIAC since they ahve the rings to prove it.  Whitewater is approaching, but not shure if they will make it over the hump (MTU).

Not realizing I may be unclear, I was continuing with the theme of the last few pages of how a few posters think that good football players can't be good people.  Apparently, you and I are in violent agreement in that we disagree with that statement.  It was an ironic shame I was expresssing, not a literal shame.

Since most of the Whitewater fans seem to looking ahead to the semi's, I thought I'd ask if y'all had a preference on who you face: UMHB or Wesley?  I know you handled UMHB pretty easily the fist time, but how confident are you that you could do so again?  As a Mount Union fan, I know I personally would rather face Wesley at this point.  UMHB seems to be playing with a chip on their shoulder after their loss to y'all earlier in the season.
