Since most of the Whitewater fans seem to looking ahead to the semi's, I thought I'd ask if y'all had a preference on who you face: UMHB or Wesley?  I know you handled UMHB pretty easily the fist time, but how confident are you that you could do so again?  As a Mount Union fan, I know I personally would rather face Wesley at this point.  UMHB seems to be playing with a chip on their shoulder after their loss to y'all earlier in the season.

Ahem...there's still a game to be played this weekend.   ;)

Wally,

I know there's a game yet to be played...against your very good Little Giants.  I was asking since so many of the Warhawk faithful have been predicting at least an easy game this year.  They're not just playing a good team, they're playing a good team with a chance to host the semifinal next week if UMHB loses.

Since we're playing the hypothetical game, I'll play along...

As a Wabash fan, I'd rather see UMHB win over Wesley.  That would put Wabash back at home in the semis (as you mentioned) and save me a looooong trip to Delaware.  I can't even begin to imagine how nuts Little Giant Stadium would be for a semifinal game.

Now were I a UW-W fan, I'd probably be pulling for Wesley to beat UMHB.  It's hard to beat good teams like the Crusaders twice in one season and the Warhawks have beaten Wesley like a drum each of the last two years (I don't think Wesley matches up well at all with UW-W).

But we can worry about all of that on Sunday.  Win or lose, I'm amped up for a good game and a good time at the Perk this weekend.

I would not say that everyone on this board is looking past Wabash, I feel that UWW respects their opponents each week and demonstrates that on the field by whoopin' them all , for the most part.  Through eyes of UWW, there is quite the drop off from #2 to the rest of the field as was proved on the field against UMHB.  If I were a hawk fan, I would want Wesley as the last two times against UMHB were close and they darn near shut down the Beav.

No one in WHITEWATER who matters has an opinion regarding Wesley or Mary Hardin Baylor.  The only opinion they have is that if we don't beat Wabash first it won't matter one way or the other.  The focus in WHITEWATER is on Wabash.

I can assure no one on the Warhawks staff or team has spent any time looking past the Little Giants(that nickname is starting to grow on me);consequently, conversation about looking past Wabash and future opponents is somewhat ludicrous. Wabash is who they are preparing for this week and who they play next week is just that....next week....and only if they beat the Little Giants.....

I'll be at the game on Saturday, and if the Hawks get the W I'll be there on the 8th.  Do I have a preference?  Not really.  Both will come in with 0-2 against UWW the last couple of years, both look scary good.

Let's just play the Wabash game at a high level, and to quote Crash Davis, "We gotta play it one day at a time.  I'm just happy to be here, hope I can help the ball club.  ... And the good Lord willing, things will work out."

Or something like that.
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

I will admit that I have not read incredibly far back in the posts.  What I was trying to say, and maybe I'll say it a little better this time (maybe not?), is that it seems some of the fans are looking at this coming game as a comfortable win.  It will still be hard-fought, but I was getting the idea that folks from Whitewater would have been very surprised to not come out of Saturday with a win.

As I typed that, I realized how I would have reacted if someone had said the same about Mount Union.  I'll be surprised if they don't win on Saturday vs. SJF, but I don't think it will be a cake walk.  Eh, maybe I'm just bored.  I'll head back to the OAC board until (and IF) both teams make it to Salem.

And you would have us Warhawks fans say "well we look forward to the loss this weekend" or "we predict that the lil giants come in and kick or butts " We are exuding positive vibes in hopes that the great creator blesses us with a win and no injuries to all players and cheerleaders, especially the one on the front row 3rd from the left  ;D.

For you Warhawk fans looking for more info on Wabash, Wabash has put out its weekly press release which has some game notes, a little preview for each team, and two-deeps.

Pretty fair analogy. I am positive that the half time locker room parade was not a pleasant place to be.

The best description of the NCC game that I've seen was one that described it as akin to watching three games in one.  The first game was dominated by the WARHAWKS 21-0.  Game two went to NCC 21-3 and the final game was again dominated by WHITEWATER 35-7.  Obviously it's a single game of 60 minutes but it was funny how I felt we were totally in control during the first game, had lost much of it in game two and then took total control again in game three.  It's the bottom line that counts though and that was, to borrow a phrase, a monkey stomping.

Anyone know how many fans the visitor side stands will hold?.....

Well, the visitor bleachers go from about the 30 to the 30, so that's 40 yards wide or so.

There's about 10 or 12 rows, IIRC.  Plus lots of standing room.

So, if you guys squeeze together ...

Thanks......I appreciate the response.   We may need a bigger boat. :)
