The best description of the NCC game that I've seen was one that described it as akin to watching three games in one.  The first game was dominated by the WARHAWKS 21-0.  Game two went to NCC 21-3 and the final game was again dominated by WHITEWATER 35-7.  Obviously it's a single game of 60 minutes but it was funny how I felt we were totally in control during the first game, had lost much of it in game two and then took total control again in game three.  It's the bottom line that counts though and that was, to borrow a phrase, a monkey stomping.

Might want to be careful using that one, SJU told us they would do that to us all week and see how well that worked out for them! :)

SJU says a lot of things.  ;)  Relax Johnnie fans I'm just kidding.

Saturday looks to be a nasty day in southeastern Wisconsin.  The forecast calls for rain/sleet/snow with temps in the low 20's and windy making the wind chill very cold.  If this all plays out it's likely to have a significant impact on what teams will or won't be able to do offensively.

FYI:
Following Saturday's football game the WARHAWK women and men's basketball teams will be playing Stevens Point in Williams Center.  The women, ranked 10th on d3hoops.com (the highest ranking in the history of the program), will tip off at 3:05 pm.  While the men, ranked 18th, play the second game which usually starts around 5:00.  Stevens Point men's team is ranked 2nd nationall, their women's team #16 and the two schools enjoy an intense hoops rivalry.   Should be some pretty good basketball if you're a sports junkie like me or simply need a place to thaw out after the football game.

Good idea about the basketball games, but I'll need a way to thaw out while keeping the inside cold.
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Whoever wins Saturday, I hope they win two more games after that!!!

Looking forward to a great trip to UW-W this weekend.  Should be a lot of Scarlet there.  And loud.

Go Wabash!!!!!

What a boring week in the chat room.  It was nice to take time and read what the Wabah fans were saying though.
I guess it is time for some predictions as I think that may get some people "excited".  I am thinking snow will only make things worse on the lil ones.  Wabash gets two big pass plays to keep them "close", but Beaver may get 250-300 this weekend.  I do not see him have anything less than 3-4 runs of 30+ yards.  He will prove why he is the best running back in Division 3 this year besides for Moriarity ;), jk.  Unfortuantely for the Little Giants, the O-Line for UWW wins the game 41-17ish.

I am pulling for bad weather. The worse it gets the better it will be for Whitewater. Since Wabash is predominately a passing team, a messy cold afternoon cold pose a lot problems for Wabash's speedy WRs and accurate QB. Based on their stats, their RB isn't much of a threat.

It might be tough for Beaver to get 250-300 yards with their all american LB running loose, but we'll see.

I say UWW by 14, especailly if the weather gets ugly.

I dont know much about Wabash but I have to pull for my fellow West Region transplants. Regardless of weather I think Beaver is too much for anyone to handle. I see UWW rolling 38-17. Good luck and hopefully everyone stays injury free! Sounds like well have a storm down here in Pella as well.

Im planning on two West teams to the Semis, Go Warhawks!

Bad weather doesnt always mean a passing team will struggle,  WW gets after the QB so well they are volunarable to the screen and if the weather is bad I wouldnt be surprised to see alot of WR screens and short timing routes that wont be bothered by the weather..  I remeber playing Pville on a cold rainy day in WW and they beat us with screens and timing routes.. Hard for corners to break if the footing is bad..

I still think the Hawks will get the win, WW 35-14..  Beaver will have 150-200 with 2 tds

OK, We have all heard about the All-American linebacker from Wabash and I am sure he is a very good player but does that compare to #33,#40,and #50. Is there a better group of linbackers in the country? I can only say that they are better than anyone we have already played and I would bet they are the best group of linebackers in D3 and that includes MHB which has also an awesome group. One of our linebackers is also an All-American and I am betting that #40 will be one besides #33.....for my book #50 should be one but that probably will be considered too much....So when linebackers are mentioned our guys line up behind noone in my opinion .....Pound the Rock......

wally_wabash

Wabash's defense is more than just Pynenberg.  He lines up next to a couple of other good linebackers (Andy Deig and Matt Kraft) and behind a very good defensive line (DL Darryl Kennon is tied for 7th nationally in sacks...tied with your guy Ogrizovich actually).  If it were just Pynenberg out there running around making every play, Wabash wouldn't still be playing football this weekend.    ;)

The truth:  Im sure this LB from Wabash is a good player.  He is no great player though and Saturday will prove this.  He plays in a cupcake conference and has really nice stats because of it.  RAIN SLEET OR SNOW this game will not be a close one.  42-13 is my prediction.
When does all region and all american come out???

And I'm sure that stats compiled against Earlham, Oberlin and Denison are worth the same as those compiled against Mary Hardin Baylor, Eau Claire and St. Cloud State.

'O2 Warhawk.....

Last weekend, Wabash ran the ball most of the 1st quarter and dinked and doinked the rest of the half.  Little Giants have 2 different style rbs which will get the job done on the ground.  No disrespect intended, but the hawks will not be able to stay with teh LGs 4-5 or more receivers on saturday.  Defensively, I'm sure Beaver will get some of his average, but not all of it.  WC lb corps, including Adi, is just too good.  Just as St.Cloud was the best thing to happen to you guys earlier, the DPU game was the best thing to happen to WC in preparing for their playoff run to Salem.  It woke up WC's run defense, and the LGs held Case to negative rushing yards.  I'm afraid that Wabash will be the worst thing to happen to the Warhawks this season.

But it should still be an entertaining game, even with bad (good football imo) weather.

Wabash 34 UW-W 24.

Should be a HUGE Wabash contingent there.

We're comin, boys.

I didn't think of that.   [/sarcasm]

The point is that he's a good player...Wabash has no control over how good or bad the other teams on their conference schedule want to be.  I'll be the first to tell you that a goodly number of teams in the NCAC are just a half step above a joke.  It's the primary reason why I'm not sure what to expect this weekend...Wabash doesn't get tested like WIAC teams do so it's hard to say exactly how good Wabash is.  I think Wabash could be competitive this weekend and possibly even win...I also think Wabash could get stomped by 30.  Neither result would totally shock me...I just don't know what to expect and that's going to be a big part of the fun this weekend.
