Newborn in a topless bar?  That's not a look of confusion, that's a look of euphoria.

Can someone guide me on how to view this weeks WW/MHB game. I am as confused as a newborn in a topless bar  ;D

Lesson #1 - start by making sure your computer electrical plugs look something like this:

sorry couldn't resist the set-up

Actually, here in Korea, a newborn wouldn't be that confused...if the baby's anything like mine was/is, the little one would just look around and think "look at all that chi-chi!!"

stealth, I think PC will have a link on front page later in the week to help you out or at least get you headed in the right direction.

I am not going to the Land of No computers when I can watch the Warhawks play the Cru!!  No way.  It's 24 here and supposed to snow during the over-night.  Not good as my kids are supposed to finish their exam tomorrow at 9.   :( :(  I wanted that finished as I am going early to the STAGG!!  I expect the game to be close, both teams to be ready,   and I really like both teams, but I've cheered for AJ, Justin, Nick and all those guys from the first row of the stands right behind the team last year.  So I do have my favorite team.  And I'm hoping to see a favorite player at a certain banquet next week as well. ;D ;) :) ;D

I think weather will play a factor on saturday. I mean how often do the boys from Texas see temps below 40 and white stuff which is called snow up here in Wisconsin on the ground in Texas.???
If it was Wesley and UWW again I would say weather isn't a factor because it snows out east. However it  doesn't snow that often in Texas, and therefore the advantage goes to the Hawks.
Also the field turf idea has been in the works for a couple of years. It was actually Brez's idea as it would save time and money on paint and things of that nature. Although I can't see the perk with out Brez mowing it once a week in the summer and watering the dam thing at least twice a week.

I live in abilene and we've had 7"of snow already this year, and sub 40 degree weather is not abnormal. the coldest I have ever felt, and I've lived in Germany and the northern part of Utah and been to the great lakes area during the winter, was in Texas.  I played pick-up soccer with friends in Killeen (20 minutes from the UMHB campus) in 10 degree weather while it was snowing.  Is it an every day occurance here, no, but it's not abnormal either.  Now we are having abnormally warm weather right now, yesterdays high was 14 degrees above normal, but as I type it is in the high 30's

Also, i was wondering, with the NCAA rule of "No Artificial Noise Makers" will the guy be able to blast the cannon on saturday. I know that was very annoying in October, only because we were losing. Any other time I think it would be a great addition to a "Home Field" experience. Just a thought.

I played in 18 degree weather and a blizzard when the CRU beat MUC in 2004.  I had never played in snow.  The field wasn't that much different than being wet from rain.  You don't feel the cold when you're in a ball game due to adrenaline and as long as you can stay warm on the sidelines, it doesn't really affect your play.

On a side note, and this is kind of a joke but kind of not, I don't think people give Texans enough credit for playing in a different climate.  We have them all here.  It was in the high 30's about a week ago for a day or two, then it was up to the high 70's, low 80's the next day, then dropped back down to the 40's.  We can have everything from sub freezing temperatures to 100 degree heat that we play in throughout a season.  The old saying goes in Texas, " If you don't like the weather, go inside for five minutes and try again later."

Umhb is not the best passing team in the country, I think we can all agree on that.  But to say  that they are one dimensional in the run is not true.  We may have been one dimensional versus UWW but I believe that was in large part on early mistakes.  UMHB is very effective in the pass when we use the run to set it up.  I don't care who the team is, it is easy to get lulled to sleep from the option and then get burned on the option pass.  I do not think that UMHB did a good job of this in our earlier meeting, but will take advantage of it this time around.

I think it will be a close, hardfought game to the end.  I have tickets to the Stagg Bowl and could think of nothing better to be back there watching my boys from the stands this time.  But if it were to be UWW, I'll be rooting you guys on.  Might as well lose to the Nat'l Champs if you're gonna lose to anybody!  Good luck to both teams.

I don't have any information regarding a time table but I can say that there will be field turf in Perkins Stadium at some point in the future.   It's inevitable and just a matter of getting the money together.

Today there is talk of the possibility of more snow/sleet/rain mix on Saturday though at this time they're calling for it later in the afternoon.   It could get pretty nasty again.

A blizzard?  Interesting as the Mount Union people report that it was cold with occasional snow and flurries that day.  But, gratz on that win anyway.  They're a rare thing.

It was snowing pretty hard, especially in the second half. You are right, that was strong wording.  I guess my definition of a blizzard is a little different being the hardest I'd ever seen it come down, but I think it was a little more than a flurry.  I guess you could call it a blizzard by Texas standards.   ;D

Thanks.

Maybe a blizzard is strong wording, I know what a blizzard looks like and from the pictures I have and the reports I received I'd say a strong snow storm at times, but not what I think of when I think blizzard.  But that aside, CruAlum39 makes a great point that I thought about over breakfast this morning.  People make a big deal out of going from a warm texas "winter" to the north and experiencing the cold, but that really is the norm in Texas.  When I was in second grade Christmas day it was in the 80's the next day it was 30 and sleeted all day.  by New Years it was balmy and in the 60's.  Climate change is part of life in central texas.
To better illustrate how bizarre the climate changes can be, when I was in middle school the news announced and incoming "blue norther" for the afternoon.  If you're not familiar with the term, it's a strong cold front that you can watch push through.  the lead edge is very pronounced and the skies behind it are the prettiest clear blue skies you can see.  The problem is that the temperature usually drops 30-40 degrees in a very short time.  Because the norther was coming, I wore a heavy coat to school on an 80 degree day.  I was mocked by my short wearing friends.  When the front blew through after lunch things were not so funny.  Me and my short wearing friends walked home with temps in the 40's and falling.  I was warm.  Temperature changes this time of year are par for the course.  now if the game required protracted play in the cold, like playing cricket, advantage Wisconsin, but a few hours over a few days, I don't see the temps and weather being a problem.

Playing in the snow and cold weather is not going to be the issue.  I think it is the frozen ground that when you put your hand down for the stance it instantly freezes and you cannot even warm them up with the heater on the sideline for the next time you go out there.  This is how the weatehr will affect both teams.  UWW has to practice (I am guessing they are practicing outside) and has played many games within the past few years on frozen ground.  I am going on a limb and saying that the ground does not freeze in Texas and this may make a difference.

I do think that the game will be closer this time around, but UWW will win again.

I'm not discounting that possibility.  Nor the possibility that the Cru could bother the Hawks.  we'll see saturday
