Just because they are written does not make them automatically good rules. We all realize it's an NCAA event but that does not mean that it can't be improved or some of the ludicrous requirements changed....Eliminating recognizable customs and practices belonging to different schools makes the event sterile and uniform and really takes away some of the color and fun....Loosen it up a little NCAA....that's all I am saying.....It's a great event but maybe it can be even better.....

Rules are rules. Let one slide, where do you stop.
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

You need to factor some common sense in with the rules.

Will band instruments be banned as artificial noisemakers at some point in the future?
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

Congrats to Jim Leszczynski, a former standout Hawk WR for signing with the Milwaukee Bonecrushers.  The Bonecrushers are a new professional arena football team that will be playing it's first season in 2008 in the CIFL.  The Bonecrushers are going to be coached by Gilbert Brown, a former Green Bay Packer defensive lineman.  Jim was not only an amazing player and teammate, he was also a great student!!  I'd say "argueably" the best WR in Warhawk history.. Goo, 96Warhawk, Voice,  where would you guys rank Jim compared to Stanley and Mrkvicka??  All three are GREAT players.

What do you mean "let one slide"?  Nobody is going to "let a rule slide."  What I am trying to say is that not all rules accomplish what they were meant to accomplish.  When a rule becomes a rule, however, it SHOULD be enforced.  I just think the NCAA should review the noisemakers rule and consider the positive and negative effects of the rule.  If they still believe the rule is positive for NCAA football, then so be it.  "Letting it slide" is not the issue and I hope you know better understand what I am trying to say.  Thanks! ;D

I totaly agree.  Why is it that DI can have all of their noise, pomp, and pageantry and DII can't?  It doesn't make sense.  If anyone has a clear cut reason, please let me know.  Home field advantage should be home field advantage, period.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

Ok, I get it, you are saying all artificial noisemakers should be allowed, right?

As a fan of UMHB and someone who will be in attendance this weekend I hope you guys get to fire your cannon. I was also there in October and thought the cannon was pretty cool, it is after all your field and that is what home field advantage gives you.

All that being said, I hope you have the ability to fire it you just don't get the chance. Above all I just hope its a good game where neither team can say it was the weather, turnovers, or the referees that lost the game but that the other team won the game.

No, I am not saying all artificial noisemakers should be allowed, at least not until the NCAA lifts its ban on them.  If the rule states the noisemakers cannot be used, then they should not be able to be used.  What I am trying to say is that in the offseason the NCAA should review the rule and determine whether or not it is fair and accomplishing whatever the NCAA wanted the rule to accomplish.  Also, does the rule apply to all divisions or just D3?  (Because we all know how much D1 schools abuse the rule if it applies to them too)  If this is the case, then the NCAA better rethink what's going on and enforce the rule across the board and not just the cases in the smaller schools.  That is what I am trying to say.

Jimmy L. is one of the top receivers of all-time at UWW.  Statistics bear that out.  He and Derek Stanley rewrote the record book when it came to receiving statistics.  What set Jimmy L. apart from the other Warhawk "greats" was his leadership ability, both on the field and in the locker room.  He made other players better around him (much like Justin Beaver has done in his career).  If you judge by one's heart and determination - there has been very few better (if any) wearing a UW-Whitewater football uniform.  Congratulations on signing with the Bone Crushers!

Reposted from earlier in the month on this issue:
I had a chance to talk to an NCAA offical and they are already posting rules for the upcoming weekend regarding "artifical noise makers". Here is what he said.
1) Cannon guy will be allowed in his usual spot but he will have to use smoke grenades and use a big sign that says "KABOOM" instead of the usual live fire.
2) The Warhawk band will have to use "air band methods" similar to any air guitar competion.
3) The PA announcer must be subsituted with students that are proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) strategically placed in the stands.
4) Fans will be not be allowed to stomp on the seats unless muffled by pillows.
All above are subject to change depending on how full the envelope is prior to the game

There's only one way to find out if a man is honest...ask him. If he says 'yes,' you know he is a crook.

Im sick of hearing about the weather.  Rain, sleet or snow UWW with beat MHB as they proved earlier this year when they threw a  beating on MHB.

Jimmy L is easily one of the best receivers of all time.  He was a great leader and a unreal blocker along with his receiving ability.

Here, Here, Voice!  Great post and so true.  Congrats to Jimmy who is a great football player, team mate and a great man!  Was one of the toughest blocking WR's I have ever seen!

Does MHB play on grass or field turf?  If turf, then the sloppy conditions will be a much bigger factor than Mother Nature.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.
