Surprised at the Oshkosh finalists. I wouldn't want Hoffner. Sims has coached there before. I had the misfortune to be behind him in line for the post game buffet a few times. Nothing left for me. He's a really nice guy, and no one would give him any crap. He has lots of connections in the coaching ranks. Guess he'd be my favorite, though a bit of a wild card, and not likely to stay there long. I like Cerroni ok, for defense, but if he stays they really need a good O coach too.

Interesting about Z. I thought of him right away for St. Thomas. O'Grady should step down and let Z take over RF in my opinion.
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

UWW has been in the playoffs enough times that they know the rules. How about this. Next season, tell the cannon guy to stay home once the playoffs start. Don't wait until an opponent needs to complain or the NCAA has to tell you to follow the rules.

What about the NCAA failure to enforce the rules. If you don't enforce the rules then there are no rules to be broken.

If I were the NCAA HMFIC, it would be "No artificial noisemakers during play. " That being said, since many on this board ignore grammar/spelling rules (see there/their/they're et.al.) I see that also carries over into other areas where rules mean little.

4.2-4.3 what a joke, your living in some fanatsay world if you think he's that fast.  Not to say he isn't a good football player but he's not that fast unless he's being timed by his high school coach.

I for one am glad that Mount hasn't had to play WW at their field.  Getting shot at by a cannon can't be fun.  So when the other teams score does the cannon guy shoot off a cap gun?

At Mount the tradition is that every time Mount scores the cheerleaders do push-ups to reflect how many points Mount has scored.  This has lead to a steroid investigation at Mount due to all the cheerleaders who have massive arms and chests.   ;D

Driving 7 mph over the speed limit is illegal, but we think we should be able to get away with it, and we pretty much do it anyways.  The cannon situation is the same.  It's illegal, but so what, do it anyways and if you have to go on the hill to do it, so be it.

Playing in football games and going to football games is culture in the lives of those who love the game, and that cannon guy is truely embedded in the culture of Whitewater football.  He's the man.

At any rate, if opponents don't like it, than play defense.

Good luck to Whitewater this weekend.  Travel safe MHB.

Early Salem, VA weather forcast: Partly Cloudy with a high of 48 and low of 35.  Just a 10% chance of rain and light winds, 5-10 mph.  Glorious day for football!!!

There is no game, just a civil war battle between the north and the south in the snow with cannons that make sound, but are not allowed.

I have seen 4.29 in the D3 ranks, but that is darn fast.  I mean between 4.21 and 4.39 is a large range in talks about speed.

I am thinking UWW by 11 points about 21-10.  I think UWW does dominate, but amy have a few long drives that do not materialize in points, but it does not bring them down this week.

NOT at all buying a 4.2 40 by any football player in D3.   There is such a huge difference from a coach timing an athlete with a hand held stop watch as compared to them getting officially timed at a combine or pro day.. In most cases they use an electronic timing system which totally eliminates the possibility of human error.  Lets just remember Adrian Peterson ran a true 4.39 and 4.40 at the NFL combine, and we all know how fast he is..  So to say the MHB back runs in the 4.2-4.3 range is quite hilarious..    One more thing.. NO athlete in Texas or any other state declines D1 offers to play football out of high school..   WW 28-7..

Hey Bobhawk.......quite a bold statement.....NO athlete turns down a D-I offer out of high school?????  Yah....ok...   ::)

Greg Micheli had numerous offers at the D-I level, but all were for his skills at defensive back, and none wanted him as a QB.  He chose to TURN DOWN THE D-I OFFERS and go play QB for Mount.

I am sure there are many other stories similar to his.

Yea, i highly doubt he has Devon Hester type speed (4.3).

FYI. don't bother getting Hester a x-mas gift.....he'll just return it.

Who pissed in Pat Coleman's cornflakes?
Have to agree with Bobhawk.
If this guy truly ran a 4.2, he could "stay at home" and play for Texas, Baylor or A&M.
Of course, there are UWW fans who say Raebel runs a 4.5

For the record, I believe it is Daniels' high school coaches that have made the 4.2ish claim. All I have ever heard the UMHB coaches say in reference to his speed is that he is fast, real fast.

Of course, it sounds like the game Saturday is going to be played on a skating rink, so it probably won't matter how fast anyone is. The key to this game is really going be in the trenches.

All I know is that the 10.89 he ran in the state track meet wen divided out averages to 4.356/ 40 yards, and if he gets free in the secondary there are generally 11 defensive players looking at his number.
