Who cares what there 40 times are we wont get to see it anyways.  We might not even get to see their 20 times.  For the record I think Daniels is better than Thrasher even though I think he is the younger back.

And there is no way he runs under a 4.3.  No way.  Maybe if Corky from life goes on is timing him.

I think you're right about Daniels.  Thrasher is a good back, but Daniels is at least as good, and Daniels has two years left to play.  I think Daniels as a senior, with 2 years of experience under his belt, is going to be a beast.  That will be fun to watch if I'm in Texas.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

NOT at all buying a 4.2 40 by any football player in D3.   There is such a huge difference from a coach timing an athlete with a hand held stop watch as compared to them getting officially timed at a combine or pro day.. In most cases they use an electronic timing system which totally eliminates the possibility of human error.  Lets just remember Adrian Peterson ran a true 4.39 and 4.40 at the NFL combine, and we all know how fast he is..  So to say the MHB back runs in the 4.2-4.3 range is quite hilarious..    One more thing.. NO athlete in Texas or any other state declines D1 offers to play football out of high school..   WW 28-7..

Going old school on you I do know that Travis Taltonwas timed in the 4.2-  4.3 range back in the 90's

and FYI Capt kurt I was a 4.72 DE  in the late 80's early 90's   :)

It's true.  He had scholarship offers to play football, but decided to stay home and play for the home team (he's from Belton).  My understanding is that he's a very good student and scored enough in external academic scholarships while in high school that he could go where he wanted.  And don't be fooled by the size listed in the program.  Daniels is pretty stinking strong here is a snippet from his Belton Wall of Honor entry:

Daniels also excelled in track and field and during his junior season of 2005 he placed 3rd in District 13-5A in the 100 meters at 10.97 and 4th in the 200 meters at 22.10.  He finished 6th in the regional in the 200 at 22.33.

Quincy also met considerable success in powerlifting finishing 2nd in the regional and 7th at state as a soph; 2nd in the regional and 7th at state (1,445) as a junior; and 1st in the regional 181 lb. division at 1,445 lbs. as a senior.  At the Midway meet in Jan. of 2006 Quincy won 1st in the 181 lb. division and set a meet record beating the old squat record with a 560 lb. lift, the old deadlift record with pull of 620 and the overall record with 1,450 lbs. ranking him at that time first in the region and state.

Calling BS on the 4.2.  There have been very few documented 4.2-something guys in the history of football and you run a good bit faster than 10.97 in the 100.  For example, Ttrindon Holiday at LSU is the fastest player in D1 and runs a 4.27 forty.  His 100 time is 10.02.  So this guy *might* be in the 4.4 something range but there's no way in hell that he's a 4.2 guy.  That is elite, elite company and the 100 and 220 times don't compute to support it.

I remember always hearing that Deion Sanders and Moss had the fastest 40s ever recorded at the combines. And I think they were both 4.2. So yeah, that'd be pretty good company.

I stand corrected, there have been players to turn down D1 offers to play D2 or D3.  I just find it hard to believe if it kid in Texas is that fast, he would have turned down offers from the likes of Texas or Texas Tech..  However, as Captain says, kids have to go with a place that feels like home to them.   My bad!!

For Talton I'm going off the Chicago Bears Scouts .. no pads.. believe it or not he was picked up by them as a free agent  even after his knee injury

To get a 4.2 40 you would need in my estimation a Fisher Price stop watch with an Elmo figure serving as the second hands.....

Have Brez pull out the old VHS tapes of Travis  when he got the corner on teams  you wont believe you eyes

I saw Talton play several times. I have no problem with anyone saying he was AT LEAST as fast as Stanley.
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

was this prior to his injury,  because he is probably the fastest person I have see in person on the field

I prob saw him play 10 times, starting his senior year in high school. I only saw him once after he was hurt. I remember the Bears bringing him in, which I thought was cool, being a Bear fan. He was still fast then, but had lost a little.

I do know he ran a 4.4 +  after the injury

Maybe he went through the Balco Labs training center program like Bonds and freinds  ;D

4.2-4.3 what a joke, your living in some fanatsay world if you think he's that fast.  Not to say he isn't a good football player but he's not that fast unless he's being timed by his high school coach.
There's only one way to find out if a man is honest...ask him. If he says 'yes,' you know he is a crook.

My 40 time is sooo sloooow..................

How slow is it?
