Great game by the Warhawks, you made the plays on offense when you had to have them, and defense kept UMHB from doing the same.  UMHB had a couple chances in the first half and again in the second, but the UWW defense held when they had to.  Good luck against Mount.

My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

Old School G

Hero - Danny Jones

D Player of Game - Gabe Shulz(or however you spell it).  They kept going at him thru the air and on the ground, but, he answered every time.  He also got robbed on that pass interference call.

Congrats to the Cru and the Cru faithful.  You are one tough ass team with a lot of fight.  At the last game, I was standing behind the UMHB stands for awhile and saw how pumped up their fans (fathers/brothers/cousins) were getting.  I see where the players get their fire.

Billy-o, man!

I just want to say that was a great semi-final game.  Good luck to all you Warhawks in Salem... I will be there sporting my CRU gear at the Stone Station, so make sure and come up to say hi.  I will say that I will be rooting with you guys.  I'd love to say we lost to the Nat'l Champions!!!

Danny Jones was the difference in the ballgame.  Definitely won the battle of the QB's.  He made plays when he had to.

I would also like to give props to the UWW defense.  They bent but never broke.  As a former linebacker, I love to see a goalline stand, just not against my own team.  I think that was the biggest series of the ballgame.  You can't expect to win if you can't get the ball in from the 2 yard line after such a big play.

Quincy Daniel's had an amazing game today.  I hope you guys get to see him for his two remaining years...

Good Luck guys!
YOU KNOW IT!!!!

Great game.  Both sides played well, but our defense led by AJ and Orz (I can't spell it or pronounce it, but promise to work on it before the weekend!!) really stopped UMHB when it was needed !!  Hope to see FTFAN 413, Sakman1111, and all the other posters down in my area come Thursday n Friday.  Will you'all be at the same hotel as last year?  Somebody let me know!!  (and y'all is OK but you'all is classier)  At any rate Stone Station welcomes you with open arms and lots of yummies to the Stagg Bowl!!  And now to the men of the Hour:

CONGRATULATIONS WARHAWKS!! SEE YOU GUYS FRIDAY AT THE LUNCH IF NOT SOONER!!  I'LL BE AT THE GAGLIARDI BANQUET SO MAYBE I'LL SEE JUSTIN EARLIER?  AT ANY RATE THERE WILL BE BROWNIES FOR EVERYBODY!!!!
Brownies for Film Day--Now there's a Slogan I can live with!!!:)  Go EAGLES!

Congrats to the Warhawks. 3 Stagg Bowls in 3 years. Very impressive. Looking forward to meeting some of you again in Salem. MUC vs UWW round 3!

Beaver may not have a lot of yards today...but he has made the D work to really stop him.  The past few plays he's been dragging 4 or 5 guys.
Euphemistically speaking, Beaver has been dragging 4-5 guys at the end of a game, but closer review of the tape shows that UWW linemen were pushing the pile for some of that as well.

Overall, 28 carries for 60 yds.  Had he not had those last 3-4 carries where he "dragged" those players, his stats would look like 24 carries for about 40 yds!

Was Beavers unable to cut on this field?  Gordon Mann suggested that Beavers gets most of his yardage by breaking out of the pack.  We know that MUC will tackle as effectively as UMHB!

The size of the players on the UWW roster is more akin to the size of players in the D-2 Lone Star Conference, such as Angelo State, Tarleton State, West Texas A&M, Midwestern State, Texas A&M-Kingsville, Texas A&M-Commerce, etc.

BoBo

Ralph, you're basically right about Beaver, but, Whitewater is more than Justin Beaver.  And they showed that again today.  Football is a game of opportunities and Whitewater did a better job at capitalizing on theirs, today, than UMHB. The Cru is a very, very good team and would have beaten most teams today. It's good the weather didn't seem to be a large factor...a couple slips, but you see that in any game.  Gabe Schultz is not in that large player category, but he played like it...HUGE game by the little guy.  The difference in the game was the QB play - Danny Jones was better today.
