In all honesty, I think this is the type of game we expected back in October. A defensive battle where the team whose defense makes the most big plays wins, and th WARHAWKS led by coach Borland did that the best.
Danny Jones is the man, a couple of those runs were awesome and his passing was pretty decent as well.
My only question of the MHB fans why did your coach keep calling the option play on third down. It never worked. The Hawks had that sniffed out like a lion on the prowl. I would have ran that lil shovel pass again as well, as that was the biggest play you guys had.
Okay know it's time for Lance and the boys to take care of buisness in Salem, and knock off the king of d3 football those Darn Purple Raiders.

This sounds a little better than today's weather, doesn't it?

Forcast for Salem, VA on December 15th:
High of 47, Low of 33
Cloudy with a 10% chance of precip.

See y'all at the Stagg, and go Mount Union!

ZWarhawk

If Daniels runs a 4.2, then the two Warhawks that ran him down on that long run in the 2nd half must run 3 flats.

Just wanted to give congrats to the Warhawks. I'm not at all surprised to see MUC in the Stagg just about every year. But to see another team kick so much ass the last three seasons and make it to a third straight Stagg is remarkable. Especially when you consider the Warhawks regular season and playoff competition from '05 to '07, it's incredible you guys have made it all the way to the Stagg yet again. I'll be pulling for your squad against The Mount.
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

Well it was a great game and I sure had the score wrong but I was right about one thing was that Danny Jones was the difference.....he simply has got better every game and has his best games in the big games. He will sure need one next week but I guess that is why he came to Whitewater ....it will be interesting to watch. Mount Union appears to have their best team of the last three years we have played them so it will take a great effort. Hope to be there again....Where is everyone staying? The Marriott again. Will this be the year they don't run out of Miller Lite? Pound the Rock.....

It's called having an angle........ I'm not sure of the exact 40 time, but none the less Quincy is fast. Quincy played a great game today. 105 rushing yards on 22 carries with a 4.4 yard per carry average. With 56 yards recieving. Much better performance than the almighty Justin Beaver.

Danny Jones was definately the Player of the Game today. He showed great poise and great leadership, even after being sacked 4 times. Without his stellar performance the outcome of the game might of been different. UW-W has a great team. I'm not pulling for anyone in the Stagg Bowl, but for the UW-W seniors, I hope you finally get over the MUC hump. It is a great feeling to beat the Mighty Mount Union Raiders, maybe yall will get to enjoy that next week.

The Crusaders played a tremendous game today and just barely came up short. Yall played your hearts out and left it all on the field. You gained respect from the UW-W players and crowd, as I didn't hear any "Overatted" chants at the end of the game. Good luck to the seniors, i wish you the best. UW-W was a worthy opponent to lose to and you have nothing to hang your head about.

The hospitality at "The Perk" is second to none. Takes dedication to tailgate in 9 degree weather. Even more to offer the opposing fans some nice adult beverages. It was an honor traveling to WI to watch the Crusaders and the Warhawks battle it out this year. "Cheers" to many more games to come against the Crusaders and the Warhawks.
Walking on thin ice cuz someone lost......again.

I think you meant Justin Beaver (not Beavers) ;D ;)

There i corrected it for you. I wouldn't want you to get confused and think I was talking about someone else.  ;)

Ok, we all understand QD is fast...so even if he runs a 2.9 40 time, someone else with knowledge of geometry has a good chance to stop him.  BTW, you did misread the stat sheet.  QD's net was 96 yards - take away the 33 yard run and he's in the 60's. A considerably slower Danny Jones had 9 fewer yards, but a 5.4 average. Speed isn't everything, just ask Jarvis Thrasher, good blocking by your teammates can get you just as far. That was the difference in the long gains. Jones had blockers with him the entire way, Daniels broke the line and had little help beyond that. What does it all mean, the defenses were pretty strong all day.  I'm certain Beaver will trade getting only 60 yards for a chance to play another day - in the National Championship Game - on the other hand...UMHB, well, you know, let's not go down that road!

Would it be safe to assume that ESPN will be carrying the Stagg Bowl once again this year?  Having recently moved from my longtime(45 years)hometown of Whitewater, to the northwoods, I sure would like to be able to see them play again.
You can't have everything.....Where would you put it?

Does watching Danny Jones make anyone else think of Scott Krause?

Congrats to the Warhawks. I was only able to sporadically listen to the game. That said, everytime I was able to tune in I heard "Danny Jones this and Danny Jones that." No doubt, when it comes to playing QB, Jones is "da man."

Nice job by the UWW "D." They made plays when they had to.

Looks like this might be Whitewater's best chance at MUC simply because they finally have a QB that's a threat to make a play.  Wasn't impressed with Jacobs in either of his Stagg opportunities.

Travel safe and see you in VA.
