How sweet it must feel. Congrats to all of you and thanks for bringing to all of us Warhawk fans a life time of memories from this year. You lived the dream. YOU ARE THE CHAMPS.

I would like to say congrats to every player who ever put on a Warhawk Jersey, this win was for the whole family!!  As far as awards go...did we get screwed...yeah but not one person who did cares, and that is what set this team apart from many in the past all over the country.  We played as a team and won as a team!! All of this says one thing.  That you have won the battle but have not won the war.  Every d3 team has a long way to go in order to accomplish all the MUC has.  All of this trash talking just shows me how much you are jealous of MUC even with a national title ring on your finger.

And MUC(k) has a long way to go to accomplish what UWW has this year.

Who wouldn't be envious of all the success MUC(k) has had in the past decade plus? Regardless, a National Title win this year means a lot more right now than 2 the years before.

Right now, MUC(k) is just another D3 team like all the others who ended the season on a 1 game losing streak. The Warhawks beat you fair and square and they were the better team on Saturday. End of discussion.

Allow them their well deserved celebration and go drink your sour milk by yourself. UWW had a great team and played a great game to cap off a great season. They were better than your Raiders on Saturday and right now, that is all that matters. Show some class and allow them to celebrate without your obnoxious posts and attempts to rain on their victory parade.

Hey KR....just so you know.....Klopenheimer is not one of ours.  Raider fans have no sour milk about WW's win.  However.....I do take exception to all the Raiders lack class..etc...  Football is a passionate game and both teams were doing their share of trash talking and finger pointing.  It's just part of the game.

No one who is a true Mount fan has said anything but congrats, etc....

Finally got back to BC after the STAGG BOWL!!  What a weekend!!  Non-stop activity.  The third year was truly the charm!! I am so glad I decided to give myself the Thursday-Sunday getaway as my Christmas present to myself.  I met so many wonderful people from both sides, to tell you the truth.  But from the Gagliardi presentation to the Friday luncheon, I must thank Justin, AJ and all the players and coaches for signing the hat that I received last year.  It was great to sit with the UWW media on Thursday evening and get a hug from Coach Brez, one of my favorite people in D3 football.  I was also delighted to meet Coach Leipold, Coach of the Year in his first season.  What a great testament to how the players and coaches are a great family at UWW!!  I have been where there have been coaching changes and never have I seen such a smooth, excellent transition!!  I have enjoyed cheering for you guys for the past 3 years.  It has been a real treat and made this victory even more meaningful for me and all of Stone Station.  We were there en masse cheering you on!  I think that playing UMHB really did prepare you all to face the MUC juggernaut and have a fantastic plan.  Coach Borland, what can I say?  That defense was extraordinary!!!  The refs let the players play and to some extent that made me uncomfortable as such games can get out of control, but your young men were up to the task and did such a fabulous job.  Corraling Nate Kmic, I didn't think that was possible.  You proved that it was. ( I predict that he will be in the final 4 of the Gags next year) But this is about this year.  To the offensive line, how many times have I written on this board that you are the BEST OFFENSIVE LINE in d3 football.  It goes back 3 seasons, but I am right and you are.  And yes, Mr. Anstatt #68, it was great to chat with you at the Victory party!!  Without you guys, the flashy guys (yes I love you, too) like Danny and Justin, could not do what they do!  They have to have the protection that you provide to get the pass off or to get that first couple of steps or a cut back be4 they just fly toward the goal line.  And what can I say about the receivers?  Even in the lousy weather, you all did great!!  I got to congratulate Neil Mrkvicka whose Mom and Grandmom ate with us at Stone Station for the second year in a row!!!  We were thrilled to have the Raebel clan with us as well!!  I think half the band also came along with so many people who were so proud of you all , their faces' shining with pride in all your accomplishments.  I enjoyed being able to deliver on the promise of the brownies and being able to watch the last few minutes of the game behind the endzone where the offense was going for a TD.  I got to see Justin's long run and his stretch for extra yardage.  How does he do all those things?  Last year he played after only 3 weeks with a broken collarbone and this year with broken ribs?  I've had both and know that it hurts every time you breathe much less exert yourself in any way.  My admiration knows no bounds for his courage in the face of these injuries!!  And add to that, he is a very nice young man who was very kind to this old lady!!  As were you all.  I thank the coach who gave me his National Championship shirt.  It is already a cherished possession and I will remember the gift always!  UWW:  what a lot of classy individuals!!  The last person from UWW off the field turf?  Coach Brez.  What a bearhug I gave him!  All in all, it was a tremendous game, one for the ages. You all did your parents, families and your university proud!! ;D ;D ;D
My brother, who  was an OT and DT back when they played both ways routinely, even taped the game for me so I could watch it again anytime I wanted.  I think Wildcat11 is working on a video of the game as well, which I will want.  Diane Raebel says she will let me know about more championship stuff so I can get a little more.  Can't wait.  the only problem?  There's no meaningful football for about a zillion years or at least it seems like it!!  Love, the Olinemom
Brownies for Film Day--Now there's a Slogan I can live with!!!:)  Go EAGLES!

You talk of sour milk sir.  I think you should take your own advice and quit crying sour grapes over the all american team.

True about other D3 programs but not every one  ;D Your analogy is like saying that MUC has along way to go to accomplish all that the Patriots have. It's stupid. Are some teams jealous maybe, envious sure, long way to go, yeah but for most of the young men who play D3 they know that will never happen they play for the love of the game. Now you go away to.

Not what I was saying at all.  I just found it funny that even with a national title ring on your finger their are what seems to be current players off the team talking of being screwed on all american teams.  You guys said time and time again about playing as a team and winning as a team.  Now after you win the greatest team accomplishment one team can win at any level, do you want to tear it all back down about who didnt make the all american team.

I believe oldhawk said it best in regards to the national title win vs. the amount of all american you have.  But good luck next season and best of luck on a repeate.  I really do like seeing new blood at the top of the d3 nation.

Well, I've been away from the computer since Friday.  I managed to catch the first half of the Stagg.  I just wanted to congratulate the Warhawks (write this down on your calendars!).  I never would've imagined this outcome after the loss to SCSU!

The Warhawks looked good.  They kept MUC out of their game.

Congratulations again.  We'll be gunning for UWW in 2008 ;)

I don't mean to beat a dead horse, and I haven't read all of the latest posts, but I am tired of hearing about who did and didn't get all-american status!

Who cares how good your individual players are!  YOUR TEAM won!!!  That is what the game is about.  Not about your best 2, 3, 4, 5 best players, but you best 22.

So what if only one offensive lineman for UWW was 1st team AA and helped Beaver rush for 2500 yds on the season.  UMHB rolled two complete offensive lines in and out and had two backs set the all division NCAA record for tandem yardage at around 3200 yards on the season.  MUC's offensive line helped Kmic to however many yards he had on the season.  THOSE GUYS ARE PRETTY GOOD TOO!!!!

I was part of a Nat'l Championship runner-up team who had one of the best  rushing defenses in the nation.  We had three LB's that were 2nd team ALL-CONFERENCE. ( I was one of them)  Maybe not the best LB's in the nation but when you put us together, WE played very well.  I didn't care that I was 2nd team all-conference, because our TEAM played for a Nat'l Championship and finished 2nd in the nation.  I know Jerrell Freeman pretty well, and I can certainly tell you that he would trade in his Div. III Defensive Player of the Year for a chance to have played football last Saturday.

I can guarantee you that you care a whole lot more about these things than the players.  These are the TEAM morals and values that we talk about the players receiving from the great coaching staffs they have.

See the game for what it's played for, not the individual attitudes, but the team values
YOU KNOW IT!!!!

Heck, this is much about nothing.

UWW was the designated home team. And like many teams, it's part of their ritual at home games to mass at the center of the field. So, I don't find that part inappropriate. Pointing and jawing at the MUC sideline, but that's an issue for their coaches as to how they want to run their program.

However, I have seen teams, as the visitor, who turn their backs on the field when the home team comes out. They focus on getting ready for the initial series. Who cares what the other team wants to do.

Funny thing about perception is that it allows to you to color what you see with your beliefs. Sorry, but I saw what Sidekick and most everybody else in that stadium saw. Mount came out, fired up as you'd expect and went to their bench, or at least their side of the field. WW came out to mid field in a planned celebration and started the jawing and finger pointing. Check the tape.

geez, talk about your poor winners.

You won, celebrate, be happy, get a life

Having said my peace, I just want to reiterate that I have nothing but respect for the UWW program.  They definitely deserved what they worked so hard for.  Even though they knocked my team out in what I thought was an even better game than the Stagg Bowl.

Congratulations Warhawks!
YOU KNOW IT!!!!

VOJ

Most people outside of MUC dislikes the Raiders and are probably happy about UWW's win...just like people were happy when the Johnnies kicked the crap out of them in 03...Warhawk fans, enjoy this and quit crying about All-American teams, Nick Gunderson should have been a first team AA...Andrew Salvato at least 2nd team at Center...but that is the way things go...

Go ask your players...All-American or National Championship, what do you think they would choose...

Could someone explain to me what the photo on the far right of the homepage banner is?  Was Ryan Coleman trying to be creative peering through the yard marker while capturing some kind of apparition that was appearing before him?

Here is the deal for all you road scholars.  Nobody is saying anyone would rather have all american status instead of a ring.  All am asking to the d3 comittee, is how you could possibly not think Raebel is not a first team all american especially after being pre season and how Dan Anstett doesnt crack any list.  Im not even complaining, I really just honestly want to know.

CONGRATS to the Hawks, all the hard work paid off and playing as whole team got you the ship.  Cant tell how great it was to see you dominate MT Union and actually in my opinion make them look pretty bad at times.
