BoBo - Not sure how UWEC, which finished 9-3, would have fared with the starting QB in for the whole season? They were 2-0 when he went out; the pessimist says they could have gone 2-8...

The optimist says they would have beat UWRF, but still lost to the Hawks, to finish at 9-1 heading into the playoffs... Continuing that thought, they would have beaten St. Norbert's, Bethel and Central in the playoffs, to be 12-1 heading into a game against Mt. Union.

A W there would put them at 13-1, with a chance to avenge their only loss on the season by playing the Hawks in the Stagg Bowl!

So, I guess they would have gone 13-2!  ;)

Speculating sure is fun. Ha. I think the adversity made them a better team, and they sure were fun to watch... (Nothing against the Warhawks and the tremendous accomplishments they had this season... Congrats, by the way... But the satisfaction in seeing what the 'Golds accomplished this season, after being picked for the bottom of the conference, was analogous to being a teacher who sees a D student get an A or B, rather than seeing the A student get the expected A. Two different kinds of satistfaction...)

That all being said, as one who spends a lot of time in the campus library reading newspapers, I often see Blugold athletes there doing homework... Not unexpected, since D3 emphasizes the student in the "student-athlete" equation a bit more than some of the D1 powerhouses do, i.e. Florida State, I guess *...

* AP is reporting academic issues (an alleged cheating scandal) could leave Florida State without as many as 25 players for its Bowl game against Kentucky...

I hear ya and mostly agree...I just think with a QB at the controls, they beat Bethel comfortably - Central? Mount? I'm not sure (2 more road playoff games would've been tough) - but they do beat Bethel - you can take that to the bank! The final rankings might have ended up looking somewhat different IMO.

Back to the celebration...

......anyone wondering if Whitewater can "mount" a serious challenge again next year read this.

Thanks for all the great memories this year. True FB fan and now life long freind. Understand that the Packers GM was at the game so I am sure he was taking notes on prospects. Was wondering if you or somebody else knew when/where we can get a DVD of the game ?  I got it on my DVR but am getting pressure to delete it after 15 veiws to make room for General Hospital. Things we do for a little attention .  ;D

Just found this link on UWW's football page.  You can order a copy of the Championship Broadcast from the NCAA.

On the other hand BooBoo will never suprise me.  Could you explain what "find wrench work" is though?  When one finds a 9/16" box and open wrench and finds something for it to do?  Or is it used in one of those "packaging" degrees?

My examples were using silly extremes as to how UWEC would have fared with the starting QB the hole year. So I took it from a 2-0 start to a 2-8 finish... or, playing along with that theme, the opposite extreme would have been to go undefeated... and lose to Whitewater a second time, finishing at 13-2...

Do I think they would have beaten Central and Mt. Union. Not sure... We'll never know... I was speaking figuratively, not literally, but if you want to say I said they would, go ahead...

What's a find wrench work?

And if Norberts stops UWEC on their final drive they go on to beat Central, Mount, and Whitewater right?

For the sake of argument I'm sure you and Bulk are happy you literally got beat by Bethel so you can figuratively talk about them beating Central and Mount.

I agree with freebird.  Unbelievable.  Only the second coming of Christ or WIAC moaning could have achieved that.  Friggin' miracle.

Bulk I see what your saying and wasnt going after you.  Your boy BoBo at times just makes me laugh.  I am still just somewhat shocked there is more talk about pep rallies and parades through the streets of Whitewater, WI this week.  I hope the beer is flowing the the salmon of Capistrano.

"Find Wrench Work"  Yes that was from my Finding Wrenches 101 when I attended Stout and graduated from there as a packaging major.  Now I work in the back room at a FedEx station in Camlesport, WI.  I am the lead liason to the packing peanuts machine but I am governed by the Adhesive Tapers Local Union 440.   ;D

In all reality I made a terrible typo and was trying to quote a Miller High Life commercial when the guy installs a tap on his bathroom sink.

I understand that these posts are simple speculation, but isn't that why we have a playoff in D3?  That way, we don't have to speculate who would beat who because the teams that win their games advance and get to keep playing.  I would hate to see Post Patterns if we had a system like the BCS...

Bobo...and if SJU hadn't had a couple of defensive/special teams meltdowns UWEC might not have been in the playoffs...or if you did get in...it would have ended in Collegville (where you have lost before) in the second round rather than Arden Hills...go have a Merry Christmas and stop posting such drivel
