flash, they're looking for writers in LA. You'ld put them all to shame.

rock, your saying that half of D III didn't think the Warhawks could do it is just a little off. I would estimate 90 - 95% didn't think they could do it.

Bobo...and if SJU hadn't had a couple of defensive/special teams meltdowns UWEC might not have been in the playoffs...or if you did get in...it would have ended in Collegville (where you have lost before) in the second round rather than Arden Hills...go have a Merry Christmas and stop posting such drivel

IF pigs could fly I'd have to clean pig crap off my windshield.  And IF SJU played EC's WIAC schedule without a starting quarterback they wouldn't have even made the playoffs.

Bulk I see what your saying and wasnt going after you.  Your boy BoBo at times just makes me laugh.

Do I make you laugh in a janesvilleflash sort of way, or what?  I can agree with you on just that one point - janesvilleflash does bring a lot of good humor and sensibility to the table. If only you did, too, I wouldn't have to be wasting my time doing this.

So, if you're not "going after" Bulk, you must be "going after" his boy BoBo? Sorry, not his boy.  Real mature though, par for the course, considering the source.

You need to calm down, big fella. You appear to get worked up quite easily.  BTW, thanks for the smite...I'll consider it a badge of honor. You seem to be orchestrating quite a barrage lately among the allies. Very boarish.*

*thanks to badgerwarhawk for the set-up

We have decent backups, would not have to resort to using our punter...or Wr or water boy

Did you smite me for playing the absurd IF game or are you just in a bad mood today?

IF we hadn't screwed up we'd be three time defending national champions.  But we did screw up so we're just this year's champs.   You can talk IF all day and not make a lick of sense.

Funny how BoBo and I engage in a little football talk and speculation on the WIAC board, and it drives the sensitive MIAC people nuts. Ha

They paraphrase my original comment, but not in full context, and then incorrectly pinned it on BoBo, who is labeled as the fall guy... Sorry about that BoBo...

Had you MIAC posters bothered to read my initial statement, you would have seen that I took my "what if" scenario regarding the Blugold football team to both extremes. I said they could have also gone on to lose the next 8 games, and finished at 2-8. No one mentioned that part of the equation in their postings...

Instead, you guys chose to focus on the other extreme, a 13-2 record, which has lead to the silly diatribes that have been posted the last 24 hours...

Just where does one talk football, and have fun speculating and playing the "what if" game, if not on the D3 post board?

At least the WIAC has actually had some football to discuss in the last few days - congrats again to the Warwhawks on a championship season, and to the Blugolds - and are actually talking about football still here in Wisconsin, rather than ice fishing...

How can this be? Are the lakes not froze over there?  Your football season is over and you can officially start talking about ice fishing...begin

Sorry, freebird, I don't talk ice fishing on the football board... I guess that's a MIAC tradition...  ;)

I'd invite you guys along some time, but we just sit around the hole and talk and speculate about WIAC football...

Addendum - we still have a football team in Wisconsin to talk about - Green Bay. When their season ends, I guess maybe we will revert to talking fishin' here, eh?

Talking football!?!?!?  You're fantasizing.  It's like an American Pie movie around here.  I'm waiting for someone to go, "one time, at band camp, UWEC had a flute and they were sooooo good even RF could have beat MUC."

OzJohnnie - since you mentioned the band, here's one for you from the AP wires (and feel free to take pot shots and diss these kids, too, who work just as hard as the football players do... I think you, who chose to attend St. John's, should be quite impressed that they are meeting the pope. That's quite the feat for anyone, let alone members of a collegiate band... Their performance is probably the equivalent for the band of winning a game called football, eh?)

UW-Eau Claire marching band to spend New Year with pope

The Associated Press

EAU CLAIRE — Some University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire students will be spending New Year's Day with the pope.

The Blugold Marching Band has been invited to play at the Vatican in front of more than 100,000 expected visitors in St. Peter's Square.

Band director Randy Dickerson has said the band will play just before Pope Benedict XVI comes out to give his papal blessing and then as he leaves.

It will be part of a 10-day trip that will include a trip to Greece as well, playing other stops along the way.

Dickerson solicited an invitation from the Vatican last year. A response came in March.

"This will be our biggest live audience, but I don't think it'll be much different than other shows,"' Myers said. "We'll just concentrate on our playing."

That was my point exactly...I was not as direct as you were...as far as smiting goes, I got smited a few times for my comments, welcome to the club

Good for them.

And, amazingly, you have the 'dissing' completely backwards.  It's not me doing the dissing, but you.  Take the band example: say you fantasized about the band meeting the Pope twice, if only they were a little better.  Who's dissing then?

Now take your fantasy about how well EC would have done if they were only better or had better QB's that didn't get hurt.  Who's doing the dissing?  Isn't what they did good enough?

Actually it was a tuba.   You were close though. :) ;)
