Thanks.  I had a copy we got from our video guy from 2004, but it's shot now.  Didn't want to lose that game (even though we lost).   :'(

I can kind of agree with that.  But I also think it is not easy to chase a pigskin for 62 seconds after you have played an entire football game.  And I don't think it was a lack of effort on the last lateral, it was a lack of knowlege.

There were four Millsaps players closing in to make the tackle before he broke, however, when they saw the ball hit the ground on the last lateral, they all stopped thinking it was an incomplete pass, and---- game over.

Sure was a tough year for Ohio college football fans to watch championship games this year ...
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

Oh boy did I ever miss that one. I knew LSU was good but WOW did they ever beat down the Buck Eyes. Both lines, O&D, reminded me of the Stagg Bowl domination sensation by the Warhawks. When LSU was down by 10 early I told the people I was watching it with that somehow LSU didn't looked to worried and now the Tiger was awake. So it's up to the Pros for the last FB fix of the year.  :(

National scandel brewing. NCAA rips off the Warhawks fans as revenge for the beat down of their beloved Purple Raiders and to fend off the bookies looking for the vig.  ;D Maybe they can recover tonight with LSU -4. But I'm going with OSU. The underdogs seem to have a place in history this year right. (Warhawks +18, yeah right) I spat on the +18 by the end of the first quarter.  +K to me from me.

Still waiting on mine also.

Love to support the underdogs but found myself rooting for LSU last night.  For some reason, the last few years, I have developed a dislike for Ohio teams.   :) ;) :D  Congrats to Trinity!

I'm guessing he was referring to a total lack of effort by Millsaps...I agree it was one hell of a play but that Millsaps team looked horribly unathletic in the video. There were players walking around not even trying to make a tackle. Just my interpretation...However, I still believe it was worthy of the award as any lateral play lasting that long is quite impressive.

How is that embarassing???

It was a play that the Trinity team has worked on every Friday walkthrough for years.  They got a chance  to perform and executed it to perfection.  It was obvious that every player on the field for Trinity knew exactly what he was doing.  Someone always back, someone always across the field, etc...

If you ask me, it's just an example of really good coaching and player execution by Trinity, and not so by Millsaps, who had obviously not practiced any situation like that.
You got it. The play was unbeleivable but to credit it to good coaching is pretty weak, it was a combination of luck and out-of-shape Millsaps players.

Not out yet and last I heard, the Hawks were still working on finding any non-conference opponents.  With the home/home series done this year with UMHB and Lakeland, (and St. Cloud just one year to fill the last open date last season,)  they have 3 openings and not alot of D-III prospects who want to play them.  And that was BEFORE they won the Stagg.   :)

I know that Lakeland is off the schedule for certain but I had heard that UMHB was interested in continuing another home/home series.  Though that was before we beat them in the playoffs.

Boy, you guys sure have a high opinion of yourselves these days. Everyone is quaking in their boots  now that UWW has won a National Championship. I'm sure THAT'S the reason. Or could it just be that most teams are already booked up for this year, as well as next, and don't have any open dates. "Come on down" to reality for a sec.

Does anyone have any info about Beav and Raeb regarding the next level??  Were any scouts at practice this year?  Have they hired agents?  All Star games??  I would think with how good the WIAC were represented last year after sending 4 guys to camp, these guys could possibly get a look?? any other guys from other teams with a shot?  Thanks

In November, Coach Leipold said in an interview that UWW had no nonconference opponents scheduled as yet for 2008.

If they've bagged one or more in the 2 months since, then I'll be happy to lead the charge towards reality.  But in the meantime, please consider that in 2007 only 2 teams in the WIAC were able to find 3 D3 non-conf games.  The rest had to make do with NAIA and D-2's.  Heck, Stevens Point had exactly zero D3 nonconfs.

Is that all because of scheduling?  A bit hard to swallow.

Why have numerous Chicago area teams NEVER played a WIAC team?  How many MIAC vs WIAC games would be fair to expect in an average year?  Or IIAC vs WIAC?  The geography would suggest that a few each year might be considered reasonable.

It has been a reality for several years now that the top of the WIAC has had trouble finding D-3 non-conference opponents even before the Hawks success but I bet that sure won't help the situation.  Started first with UWLC. Do you think it is a coincidence that Platteville and River Falls book teams from the CCIW and MIAC but UWW and UWLC have had to look to NAIA, D-II and D-I opponents to fill out their schedule?  Heck, ask yourself why your own Johnnies play River Falls instead of LaCrosse.  ;)   And regarding scheduling, there may be some conflicts but it is not like the AD is sitting on his hands every year until everyone in D-III's schedules are booked and then decides to go looking.

No shame in being a National Runner-Up, 39.  I said the last 2 years, (happily not this year,) that you still come home with a Walnut and Bronze.  It is silver not gold but it sure beats watching it on TV.  ;D

I credited it to good coaching AND player execution.  Now I'm not gonna say that a little luck didn't help it, and that Millsaps looked good, but I also believe that luck happens through preparation.  It's taking advantage of situations that you have been in before.  Trinity made it a point to put themselves in that position every week, and it allowed them to even have a shot to put that great play together when the time came.  Millsaps was tired, but even more so they were utterly confused for 62 seconds.

Anyways, enough about that.

I am disappointed that we will not be able to continue our schedule with you Warhawks this year.  I think that was a great test for both teams in two of the contests, and the beating UMHB received in October was another third great learning tool for the CRU.  No one likes to lose, but sometimes you need a good kick in the butt to knock you off your pedestal and make you realize that you're not that good.  Although we came out 0-3 I would have liked two more years and maybe three or four contests with you guys to settle the score a little.

After the National Championship the last two years, the football program has worked out a deal with Impact Sports of Wisconsin and taken orders for Championship apparel and they will be doing it again this year.  It has mostly involved players and their families but I would think that anyone can put in an order.    It is different than what is sold in the bookstore and the proceeds benefit the football program directly.  I suggest that anyone interested should try and contact the football office to request a flyer or contact Impact Sports directly.  These are pre-paid special orders, however, and no one will be getting the clothes for awhile.

Did everyone get their orders in?  Time is almost up ...
