I don't know Garcon or D. Stanley personally, but from watching them on TV (and Garcon Live a couple of times) I sure do like the sportsmanship and attitude that Stanley shows a lot better than Garcon.

But, Garcon seems to have all of the measureables so I won't be surprised if he gets drafted late in the second day.

Wonder where that puts Farley as he and the other DB's made Garcon look very average or below in the Stagg Bowl. Understanding of course that the D line didn't give the black and blue raiders QB many good looks down feild.

413, your right on about Garcon being invited to the NFL Combine...I forgot to mention that in my little bit...if you look strictly at the current numbers, he's probably a bit too low on the list to get drafted, however, D. Stanley was also under that threshold last year and he did get drafted. I agree, a good performance at the Combine could awaken a few teams to put him on their draft boards.
There's only one way to find out if a man is honest...ask him. If he says 'yes,' you know he is a crook.

No problem, Kirasdad.  Just a friendly little poke in the ribs.  You did say, "I hadn't heard of many DIII coaches jumping to the NFL." I just thought it was ironic having it happen so close to our conversation on the subject.

Tis ok.  My ribs need a poking after spending the day trying to teach Science (currently Balancing Chemical Equations) to 8th graders.

I am happy to say that I do know D Stanley personally and he is one of the finest young men I have ever met.  He is a class act.  Humble, polite, great teammate, hard working and very talented. While I only know Garcon from his behavior on the field in three Stagg Bowls, I feel safe in saying that in a contest of character, he doesn't even belong in the same ball park with Derek, IMHO.

Garcone is a perfect fit for the NFL. As he has shown in two out of the last three stagg bowls that he is a play maker,as he made  the Warhawks defernse look bad in 2005 and 2006. Two time national champion.
Whether he is cocky arrogant or a jerk doesn't matter. He has been invited to the NFL combine which is something not many WIAC players and none in the last three years have been invited to.
If he performs well he will get drafted. As far as special teams, I am not sure what special teams he played on except for being a return specialist.Where Stanley was not only a return specialist he also blocked punts, extra points and was a gunner.
Garcone wil go to the NFL as a big play wide receiver based on what he did in college one bad stagg bowl won't effect that one bit. Although it was fun seeing Whitewater shutting him down.

I've got to say.....the look on Garcon's face after the Stagg bowl was the most satisfying feeling I had that entire day. It says a lot too because a lot of good things happened that day.

kirasdad -  I still remember balancing chemical equations over 40 years ago in high school. I always thought it was one of the easiest concepts that many people have trouble with. If you can count, you should be able to do it.

You should have looked at some of their faces on Monday when I went through the steps.  You would have thought I was teaching in a foreign language.

...physical/athletic attributes aside, I'm curious what his measureables will be like on the Wonderlic Test...

At least as high as Vince Young's first attempt.

I heard 1 player actually got a 1 on the test...was that Young?

Nah, his first attempt was reported as a 6.  Second one was a 16.

The WR average is 17, the overall average is 20 for the NFL Combine.  I think David Carr was reported to have a single digit score, too, but it didn't lower his draft position.
