there r a bunch of haters on here
Clownshow, I think we have found our biggest hater in sakman. Like I said he is a 2 time national champion, and that along with an invite to the combine are two very big accomplishments, which I am sure everyone in here wants to do,and many have failed to do as well.

You couldn't be further off darock.....What ever Garcon has accomplished and will accomplish which has and could be quite considerable will not change one fact.....he is a class A jerk.....

dawarhawksrock

Sakman you must know him pretty well to call him a class A jerk.

Sakman 1111

Won't comment on him anymore....not worth the time. Much more interested in young men like Derek Stanley who is a class act....

Like I said you can make statements about people you don't know on a first hand basis and comparing him to people you do know is not fair either. He got invited to the NFL combine, and most likely will be drafted on the first day of the draft as the majority of people invited to that event are. As it would be a waste of time to invite someone the NFL does not think is worth drafting.

Just to clarify the point.  I do not hate Garcon.   True, I'm not pulling for him and I think it's funny that the Viking of all the NFL organizations are vouching for his character.  I suppose it would have been funnier if it were Cincinnati but the Viking have certainly had more than their share of character issues in recent years.

Hate is far too an intense emotion to describe my feelings towards him.   With the exception of an occassional comment here, I think I've mentioned him maybe 2-3 times this past year, I don't think or feel anything about him.

IBW, I totally understand were your coming from. I would never call someone that I do not know a JERK. Like some people here have done.
I think most warhawk fans are going to be happy he is graduating. As far as how he reacted this year in the game. Well let's sum it up like my high scool coaches always did
"Don't write checks with your mouth that your play on the field can't ack up" His play backed up his mouth and talking in both 2005&2006. However in 07 he was writing checks which were getting returned as his play was not up to par.

I don't have a dog in this fight, and I'm not casting aspersions on any particular person, but experience tells us that we all make mistakes once in a while and get carried away in the heat of competition.

That being said, when a player continually acts out over a period of years, and even his own fans admit it, ordinarily that carries over at least a little bit into his personal life.

It's always a pleasure to see and read about young men who are not only class acts on the field, but off as well. That's what's great about the Gagliardi Trophy.

Don't mean to shake the hive anymore...however...how does "...Rodgers to Garcon....touchdown Packers!!...(presuming Brett retires)" grab you?  This from Ted Thompson in Garcon's
hometown newpaper in Florida:

"He's very prolific," Packers General Manager Ted Thompson said. "He's big. He's strong. He catches the ball very well. He's good after the catch. He's all the things people are looking for."  Ok, no mention of the "C" word here...but wouldn't this be interesting?!  :-\

Just a couple things here.......First, just because you are invited to the combine does not mean that you are guranteed a spot in the first day (especially with the rule changes this year where the first day will consist of only the first two rounds, I don't see Garcon going in the first two rounds, but I digress and understand where you're coming from on that one). I remember a few years ago there was a player from WLC (yes wisconsin lutheran) that was invited to the combine. I believe his name was Nate Hahm, or one of his brothers. He was not drafted at all. I know this as a fact because he is the son of one of my former coaches. Now, I don't really follow the combine but I can tell you for sure that just because you are invited does not gurantee being drafted. It certainly can help your chances though.
Second, warhawksrock, I believe that it is possible that one can justify calling someone who they have never met a JERK. And this is the perfect example. If someone disrespects a friend of yours or one of your sons you are bound to react. This is what I believe happened. He disrespected players who happened to be some of these posters' friends or sons in this case. So I respect your opinion, but IMO I believe that in this case it is quite justifiable to make a statement about someone based on how they acted towards a loved one.

I did not realize that there wore only going to be two rounds on the first day. So he probaly won't get drafted on the first day but  I would think it might happen within the forst four rounds.
I have  heard plenty of stories from loved ones about people who are not nice to them at work, or disrespect them,. However I am not one to judge people until I meet them and get to know them. So for me to ay that Mr. Garcone is arrogant, cocky or a jerk. I can not. However after his first two performanes against UW-Whitewater he had the right to have a little cockiness in him. His play allowed it.

dude what are you Garcon's PR manager???  Guess what I never met Hitler or Stalin or Ted Bundy  but I'm guessing that I can get a pretty good handle on who they were... and no I'm not comparing Garcon to any of those people,  but when you show your A$$ on a national stage your going to get labled.

If anyone cares about such things, Derek Stanley still has a tenuous hold on a national indoor long jump spot. Stanley currently has the 10th best jump in D-III this season at 23 feet.

He has two more meets to improve his seed before nationals. If he can go 23-2, he should be safe. But 23-0 might be good enough this year. However, that's not usually the case.

The top 10 regular-season long jumpers are guaranteed spots at indoor nationals to be held March 14-15 at Ohio Northern.

It's not quite a 75-yard slant from Bulger for 6, but I thought someone might be interested in his track and field dalliance/nontraditional training exercize/competition fulfillment (whatever you choose to call it).

My guess is that it is not so much his cockiness regarding his play that turned off the Warhawk Faithful to him but rather his body slamming, chest shoving, personal fouling antics that took place at all 3 meetings.  His play did not allow for that.
