Just back from Milwaukee where I was attending Justin Beaver's Draft/Free Agent party where I was treated very well.

Justin tells me that he excited about the opportunity "to prove himself again" as an invitee at the Packers' rookie mini camp this coming weekend.  AJ Raebel gets a similar invite but still is hoping that a team will offer a "priority free agent deal."

Brady Ramseier indicated about 45 minutes after the draft that both San Francisco and Cleveland are showing interest in having him participate as an invitee at one of the team's rookie minicamps.  He indicated to Justin that a decision would be made within the next 24 hours.

Warhawkfootball.com was blogging on the NFL Draft as it pretained to the three Warhawks.

Congratulations to all three for the work they have put into their strong push to the next level.

Update on AJ Raebel,

Just got off the phone with AJ, he WILL NOT be by trying out with the Green Bay Packers this weekend. His agent is currently in contact with several otherinterested  teams in an attempt to secure a rookie tryout this weekend.  Should know within the next 24 hours.

You better make sure all your facts are right or you'll be hearing it from Pat.

Voice is the source of the facts that I cited last night, lilpeds. He has a little more credibility.

Agreed.

I have no other details -- minicamp invite, I would assume, and not free agent contract.

That is also what I understand.  He has been told to report to the Vikings camp in the Twin Cities on Thursday. He is still hoping that a team will offer a free agent contract prior.  But he is just happy to get "his foot in the door."

Sorry knowing Beav since he was 10 years old doesn't apply to being a good source.

Any way, congrats to Raebel.

Beav loves the position he is in. He loves having to prove himself to all the doubters once again. And my assumption is he'll do just that.

Watching things closely as well, and have been advised there is still a bit more dust to settle.

Lots of D3 guys getting invites this year, I'm (of course) rooting for them all to stick!

Sometimes being an FA rather than a late-round pick is nice because you can pick a situation where you think you can work your way into some PT.

Found a link to a reporter's blog at a local Chicago area newspaper which sums up Raebel's situation.

What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

I would like to know who was responsible for not only conducting a Justin Beaver Draft Party, but inviting the entire State of Wisconsin to attend.

I cannot think of a more emotionally damaging sequence of events, than to be surrounded by well-wishers, waiting for a call that never comes.

Isn't this one of Dante's nine circles of hell?

Packer fans, did you all forget what happened to Aaron Rodgers?  Has he ever recovered from his Green Room wait?

Be honest.  What were the chances that Beaver would get drafted?  1 in 10?

The person responsible for the "let's throw a draft party" idea owes Justin a big apology.
