What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

That should be a fun time for the Former WW QB...  I'm sure he will do very well against that level of competition, (compared to D3 football outside the WIAC)  Two former Stout QB's are also over seas right now starting on their respective teams at QB.. Keldric Stokes is the starting QB for the Eidsvoll 1814's in Norway, and Tanner Kattre is the starting QB for Germany's Franken Knights..  Both of which are doing quite well.  It's great to see these kids continue their careers overseas, what a great experience!

Danny should do well attracting the Swedish Bikini Models as well.  Great talent in that country.

Hot off the wires about Danny Jones. Off to Sweden to play for the Stockholm Mean Machine for the summer. Hard to find out exactly what they are all about as the web page is in Swedish. Go figure  ;) Great gig for him to keep his skill set honed in, experience a different culture and get paid. Wishing him and the team the best of luck.

That is awesome for Jones.  Congrats to him.  What a great experience!

In Flander's Field
by John McCrae
In Flanders Fields the poppies blow,
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky,
The larks, still bravely singing, fly,
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the dead.
Short days ago,
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved and now we lie,
In Flanders Fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe
To you, from failing hands, we throw,
The torch, be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us, who die,
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow,
In Flanders Fields.

The Rams are finalizing plans to make Concordia University the team's training camp this summer...
http://www.stlouisrams.com/article/67670/

And for today's daily double for the university? Baseball's all-time legitimate home run king, Hank Aaron, will deliver the commencement speech there on Satruday...

Your trivia for the day, non-football related, seeings a theme is developing here - On this date in history, May 14, 1995, UW-Oshkosh's two-time D3 baseball POY Tim Jorgensen hit six home runs in a doubleheader romp over UW-Eau Claire. He hit two homers in the first game, then proceeded to hit the home run equivalent of the cycle in Game 2 - a solo shot, a two-run shot, a three-run shot and a grand slam...

And last, but not least, best of luck to the Lady Warhawks (35-9, #5 seed) and my Blugolds (32-11, #3 seed), as those two teams participate with six others in the double-elimination collegiate World Series tournament this weekend in Salem, Va.

I wonder what exactly it was that made the Rams to pick little old concordia over UW-Whitewater,as the Wahawks have and always  bragg about having some of the best facilities in the country.

BoBo

Greetings all...I'm back after a 6 week working vacation in Vietnam and southern China.  Mrs. Bobo and little Miss Baby Bobo joined me on a great journey.  But, it's good to be back...lots to catch up on, so I think I'll start reading.

Well, if you read the announcement like I did, you will discover B-B that little old Concordia has something Whitewater doesn't currently have...that is 2 complete football fields covered with a material called Field Turf.  That seems to be a major reason for the Rams to pick Mequon, along with being closer to a larger airport.

Ok, time for me to get reading up on everything I missed.

Pardon the interruption...but is it customary for ones karma to drop (in my case 20 or so points) while not posting for 6 weeks?  Somebody was really being a #$%% while I was gone.  Good thing I'm not vindictive or this nincompoopery would not go unpunished.  However, you made your point, whatever it was.

I'll up you one for the next 20 days to compensate.

BoBo,
Welcome back!  I wondered many times over the last month or so why you seemed to drop off the face of the posting earth but now I know, you came pretty close. Vietnam and Southern China?  Wow, must have been an experience. I will add to the daily karma boost.  Seems strange that you would have seen such a drop off as someone would have had to go out of their way to travel back quite a few pages to find a post to smite you.
As for the Rams chosing Concordia over UWW, field turf or not, it makes me scratch my head.  Having toured the campus, if you can call it that, they have nothing that compares to UWW.  But maybe they like that small, quaint, "all under one roof," concept.  It would provide a certain level of privacy for the team.

After looking at past articles about the choices that the rams had. The one thing that Concordia has that Whitewater doesn't is air conditioned dorms.
If you have ever tried to sleep in a whitewater dorm in the dead of summer it is very uncomfortable.

warhawkexpress28

Ive also heard that the Rams will be able to regulate the amount of spectators at concordia easier than they would at UWW..  UWW practice fields are pretty wide open for anyone to get in to watch..
If you wanna be good practice till you get it right, if you wanna be great practice till you cant get it wrong..

BEAVER-BELIEVER

That is true but Whitewater is further away from a majr city then Concordia. Also with some planning. I am sure they could keep the cops in Whitewater busy keeping people away. I mean it is the summer and the cops won't be busting any underage drinking parties at that time of year.
You would think being closer to a big city like Milwaukee would attract more people then being in a small town like Whitewater where the biggest city is about 50 miles away.
