The second mention of a D1 RB transfer coming to UWW this year from a new poster.  Where is the evidence?  Links to newspaper articles?  Name of the Transfer?

kirasdad, if I may, I'm going to take a stab at narrowing down this mystery "D-1" running back who a few of the posters are linking with UW-W.  My guess, and mind you, I have no factual data to support this, but, just for the sake of creating dialogue, I will make a prediction.  Based on history, if (and it's a big if) Whitewater gets a transfer running back out of a "D-1" program it will probably fall into one of these two categories:

1.  not a marquee name from a marquee D-1 school anyone might have heard of
(otherwise, we would have heard of him already in print or electronic media)
2.  was probably a walk-on or perferred walk-on who never saw the field during
his brief tenure at the D-! school, not even on a scout team.  (but still calls
himself a D-1 transfer)  So, in essence, has no college track record to speak of.

Now, in case I'm wrong, let me cover that base, too.  Hypothetical speaking, UW-Madison has a real glut of quality tail-backs trying to get playing time - anyone around there knows this. They won't be able to play them all.  Maybe, one of those guys, buried on the depth chart has decided to get some playing time with a school with a successful thing going and also getting known to have considerable foot traffic around the school from NFL-type scouts  Absurd? Maybe - well probably - but not totally out of the realm of possibility, if you think about it.  Before you start busting on me, neither am I saying or thinking a John Clay type back is transferring to UW-W.  Pls don't misunderstand and jump to any conclusions - this was all hypothetical.

So, in conclusion, if I may be so bold to quote our friend footballfan413 and Dennis Miller (not my friend), "Of course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong!"

Good analysis BoBo.

I still think it is funny that people now tout that they are getting D1 transfers and back in the 90's people used to try to BLAST Mount Union for the same thing.  I admit that there were some D1 transfers that helped the Raiders over the years (Larry Kinnard (originally signed with OSU but never played there), Matt Campbell (one year at Pitt), and Chris Kern (from DII I think)) but 99% of the players at Mount Union were/are home grown.

I wonder if it's helpful to note that "WestCoast coach" isn't posting from anywhere near the West Coast ...

kirasdad, people may have blasted Mount Union back in the day about that, but I bet my last nickle, nobody "blasts" Mount Union today (on or off the field)!!  ;)

Maybe he's a disciple of Don Coryell or Bill Walsh!

I meant "Blasting" on Post Patterns.  :)

Hmm, I didn't think Post Patterns was around in the 90's when Mount Union was loading their team with D-1 transfers (just kidding):-\
When did Post Patterns make it's debut?

Exactly...I think we have good reason to believe that WestCoast Coach/MSUBeavers/BeaverBeliever is having conversations with himself on these boards  :D (the spelling and bad grammar always give it away)

Just wondering out loud here, but does someone with a multiple personality disorder know when they are having a conversation with themselves?  I would think they wouldn't.  Anyone know from personal experience?  ;)

Don't have any info as well on the supposed D1 tranfer but if he fall into any of BoBo's categories, there would still be a reason to be excited.    LB Robb Widuch was a preferred walk-on to UW-Madison and his D-3 career wasn't too shabby.  ;D  I would just add one more category and that would be a player who is really from a D1-AA program and the letters have been dropped from his resume as the story gets passed around.  I have heard though, overall, that the recruiting class of 08 will be talented and large in numbers.  Thank you again 23 Seniors and National Championship!! (and damn that WIAC 100 man roster limit!)  ;)

WestCoast Coach

I thought I was doing a nice gesture and report information that I was told about. I do coach on the West Coast but I am from Miami, what is the big deal? I thought this program had classy fans. The kid is legit and a very talented RB. Instead of trashing the kid in saying he was not at a "top" D1-A or D1-AA school, a scout team player or a walk-on is ridiculous. This I can tell you, a few SEC schools offered him scholarships out of HS. He holds numerous of rushing records while playing for us during his Junior College tenure . I spoke my piece and will not report anymore information that I receive. Ask the coaching staff about the transfer they have coming in at RB if you feel I am lying. Have a blessed day guys.

Just Bill

You could end this nonsense really fast by revealing a name or at least his school.  Until then, why should anyone believe you?

Actually, only two of those people you cite seem to be the same person.
