UW-W athletics has gone through the roof.  Congrats to Warhawks athletes across the board on winning the WIAC All-Sports Trophy.  Men's teams take first!  Women's teams take 2nd!!!

If that's true for the $1.5 million he donated he can have it.   Perhaps he would like the sod too.

I know what you mean.  Mt Union gets alot of transfers.  95% even not a chance.
Goo,
I follow the Raiders pretty close and I would say that Kirasdad is close with that 95% number or even higher. There would have to be more than 10 transfers on the roster to lower that 95% and I can only think of one at the present time that came to us last year. Pierre of course was a transfer but he still came from D3 not DI. He spent three years at Mount as well. Very few D1 kids try their luck at Mount and the vast majority are four year students. There is not the Buckeyes to Raiders pipline that is greatly perceived. Just like the is not MUCh to the rumor of Badgers to Warhawks right? ;D  LK's graduation percentage is higher than his winning percentage. A fact he is most proud of!
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

No surprise there. Right now for athletics its U-Dub Dub's world, and everyone is trying to catch up.

RaiderGuy,

I forgot that Goo just likes to say stuff to get other posters agitated.  I think it is best to just ignore him.

Raider guy, for your math to be accurate, Mt. Union would require a 200-player roster.

Mount Union usually starts the year with 200+ players.  The Freshman class is usually over 100 players.

I've tried to determine the actual number of players on Mount Union's roster last year but roster information isn't available on their website.   Evidently the page has been disabled now that the season is over.  However I've always heard that the number was quite high like 150-180 though I've never taken the time to verify it one way or another.

The WIAC is it's own worst enemy when it comes to roster size.   Well ourselves, the federal government and Title 9.

That job usually goes to Football players for their "Work Study" jobs.  My Fr. year (1990) our starting QB did the laundry and I think that Zac Bruney also did that job while the starting QB for the Raiders.

That explains the lack of mobility of the O & D lines against the Warhawks lines. To much starch in the jocks instead of Stay Soft  ;D

+K for that one.  They sure did look stiff in last year's Stagg Bowl.

Ok, guys, when we start talking about starch in a jock ....

And then guys being stiff ... well ...

Unless we're talking about Erin Andrews, let's get back to football.
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

Something BoBo wrote got me wondering if we are losing our idiomatic expressions. I had also run into another instance of this just two weeks ago, so I will attempt to educate and edify.

BoBo wrote that some of the things regarding the new scoreboard at Perkins Stadium "peaked my interest." While someone hearing that expression would be logical in thinking that was the right "peaked" it should actually be "piqued my interest".

The other case had to do with someone who thought "champing at the bit" was wrong and it should actually be "chomping at the bit". Since champing is hardly in use, it would be understandible for one to think that, yet it actually is "champing" Look up the words if you are still in doubt.

Now that 98% of you are thinking that you'll never get that 2 minutes of your time back, I'll take my leave.
