Okay lets get down to the nitty gritty UWW folks.  Where do you see the Warhawks finishing this year.  I will not accept the simple response as winning another national championship without a solid argument.  You have been beating up on us saying we are wrong to assume the cupboard is bare.

Who will replace Beaver, Jones, the monster LB's, and the moster o-lineman?
Please explain if you can their past performances and year in school.

The jump from high school is so great even at the d3 level, that I do not consider incoming freshman to be major impact players.  The only way I would accept the is if you had a recind his comittment to a d1 school and come to UWW, then it might be worth adding them in.

Since I live very near Whitewater, and have seen a number of games there since locating here, I think I have a little knowledge to back up those observations
That's why I respect your comments more than the other johnny-come-lately (no pun intended) posters.

I mean, really...  Only people that attend Warhawks games are qualified to see that you can't string two arguments together without tripping?  That's a particularly unfair poll tax you levy, especially considering this is the World Wide Web we are using.

We'll remember this qualification any time you discuss anything.  Unless you have personally viewed said topic multiple times (physically and with your eyeballs and all that) and have commented on it for a qualifying period (yet undetermined), then your "johnny-come-lately" opinion can be summarily dismissed.  I may have to bookmark this page.

First, before I begin, let me pick myself off the ground.....OK now - secondly...... whaaatever!!

EDIT:  unfair poll tax you levy???  Where do you come up with this stuff?  All from respecting retagent's comment.  That's so interesting.

Oh, I don't know.  I just word it up to be a bit more inflammatory.  Quick secret?  We've got a lot of skill positions to fill this year and although the prognosis looks OK and there is always "Johnnie Magic" which seems to do the trick, I still remain nervous.

Anything I can do to stir the pot over in WIAC-land is helpful to my uncertain confidence, if nothing else.

So to something semi-serious... I mentioned three or four polemical posts ago that all the recent powers of the West have significant skill position turnover this year which may threaten the West's collective position against MUC.  Maybe someone down south or up north will get a sniff this year.  What do you think?

I'm usually a b-ball poster, but would someone please update me on d-stanley????  i know he's a thing of the past with some of you, but seriously, in my softball league he was the right center fielder, was wearing rams short, but he sprinted for UWW this spring semester and now he's in a beer league softball???  did he get cut???  is he risking something???  it's not in awhile that you see a pro playing in a league, but everybody knows it was derek f-ing stanley.

GO WARHAWKS

BoBo

A quick check of the rams depth chart shows he is still a member of the rams.  Wouldn't he have to return the shorts if they'd cut him?
Seriously, if he is really playing in your softball league like you say, is he that unapproachable?  It's simple, play catcher when your team plays his and strike up a conversation when he steps up to the dish!!   ;)

Klopenhiemer, I'm going to reply to your nitty gritty question shortly.  But just to set the perimeters for dissussion purposes, would the term highlighted in bold, black type in the quote immediately above qualify as an acceptable response you demand (and I might add, you legitimately deserve) to convince your skeptical mind on this issue?  If so, then I'll submit the same response, with the words "Warhawk Magic" inserted in place of "Johnnie Magic" and the clause "I'm never nervous" inserted in place of "I still remain nervous."  I'm standing by for your decision.

Iowa State University plays basketball in an area called Hilton.  They commonly use the phrase "Hilton Magic".  This is because they have a long tradition of pulling upsets on their home court and something good always seems to happen.  Though I think this is kind of phoney, I do go along with it.  I go along with it because they have a long proven track record to back up this statement.

To answer your question, yes I will accept Warhawk magic.  If you feel that it has some merit.  If you are just running off at the mouth, in order to spite another poster, then no.  Do I believe in Johnnie magic you ask?  Well after 40+ years of the storied traditions, and the fact that kids seek SJU more often than the coaching staff seeks them, I will go along with this.  I would compare this to Central in the IIAC.  They have a long storied traidition and wake up in the morning thinking they will win the conference the upcoming season.  For those type of teams, I do accept those type of statements.  But once again, feel free to use Warhawk magic if you feel the need.

So if we can move past the nitty gitty nit picking, I'd love to see what your cupboard boasts for the upcoming season.  I might add that I'd also like to see some predictions regarding the W-L record as well.  I know it might be to soon for this, so I will not demand to see this.

I think I was responding to a specific post, and OZ was responding to the general idiocy that we take up, such as using perimeters instead of parameters.

Man, I try to throw the dog a bone and he bites me.  The old phrase "never try to outsmart a Sicilian" should be replaced with "never try to make nice with a WIAC fanatic".  Lesson learned.

BTW - there is a well known trademark on "Johnnie Magic".  You'll have to take something else for UWW like "Warhawk blind-ass and short-lived luck".  And you can replace "I'm never nervous" with "I'm too stupidly arrogant to be nervous".

Klop,

Can I use that term then?  "Dutch Magic" has a certain ring to it does it not?

For grins go over to the D3 simulation that National Sports Rankings has up. Ran UWW vs. Johnnies both home and away for 07 and UWW prevailed.

How can I not +k stealth for that? What a surprise, the National Champion would beat a team that lost in the second round in a computer simulation. Knock me over with a feather.
