He sounds legit. The only thing that seems to worry me is the youth on this team. We lost so many seniors! I guess we will really see how good of a coach Leipold is now.

I am most interested to see how the Warhawks replace the four senior starters in the defensive backfield...that group really played well during the second half of the season, especially in forcing the turnovers

I always thought of Danny Jones as Scott Krause without the arm.  Of course Krause never had a running game like UWW had at his disposal.

Please don't mention Scott Krause. I still wake up in cold sweats remembering how he laid waste to our defense seemingly by himself. I remember someone calling him a D3 Michael Vick after the game and in hindsight, it's kind of ironic that he played for the pointers.

Didn't say you in particular had, but you only have to go back about 24 hours to see Whitewater fans' knee-jerk reaction to attempt at serious discussion.

Mr. Coleman, there's no knee-jerk reaction going on since none of the attempts are of a serious nature.  Those attempts, which you describe as serious, are in my view, just the opposite.  They come from posters who readily admit they only come on here to blow smoke in our face (or an orifice of a different nature) or stroke their own ego.  Attempts at serious discussion?  Laughable from where I sit!!

Obviously replacing Beaver will be difficult but so was replacing Chad Wurth and Colin Burns.....rumor has it there might be a very talented transfer on the horizon but you never know that for sure until August in D3. Looking past transfers remember the name--- Level Coppage because he is an exceptional running back and incoming freshman......

I understand that you've had good backs before but I think everyone knows that Beaver is on a different level than even healthy Colin Burns.

A guy who got eight carries at a I-AA non-scholarship school might indeed be the answer but will have to prove himself.

Thank you for being willing to entertain a serious discussion on it, and not resorting to knee-jerk attacks.

I told you guys awhile back that a transfer was coming in. Don't let those number of carries at a non-scholarship 1-AA university fool you. He was in a rough and unfair situation while at that university. I know for a fact that he had scholarships from four SEC schools and a number of Big Ten schools out of HS. He is a talent who will be a great addition to your program. I have been coaching for sometime now and he is one of the best that has come through our Junior College program. I am expecting great things from Wisconsin-Whitewater this upcoming season.

I know I haven't posted this off season but I've tried to keep up with the board on a daily basis.

Will someone please clue me in a little more on this transfer??  I'm having a hard time figuring this out and it's kiling me.  At least tell us where he is transferring from and let us do the research.

Best of luck with that.  All we get are lame posts from a hit-and-run poster who pretends to be an insider, and apparently believes the CIA will kill him if he divulges any actual information.

Let it lie until camp starts and then see who's there.

I'm in the dog days of a hot Texas summer.  Although that means football in general is right around the corner, it still seems like a lifetime away.  A former SEC scholarship type player??  I need more....

Well... What we (apparently) know is that he had four scholarships (Offers?  Obviously the guy didn't attend at least 6 DI schools on scholarship before going I-AA) in the SEC plus a number from the Big Ten, but ended up at a non-scholarship I-AA program where he got 8 carries.  PC, who appears to know the identity of the transfer, says the transfer must prove himself - meaning no slam-dunk on a reincarnated Beaver.  Hit-and-run West Coast Coach, says the tranfer is a JC guy (a step further from I-AA?) and to trust him, the transfer is great.

My reading:  The transfer isn't going to happen.  If it does happen I bet he's an Al "I scored four TD's in one game against Polk High" Bundy type guy that keeps dropping a rung of competition in order to get off the bench.  Does that sound like a Beaver replacement to you?  A replacement for the best DIII had to offer last year?

You sound kind of ignorant with your comments. Do you think the coaching staff will take a transfer with limited skill? come on it makes no sense. Will UWW take a kid who is ala "Al Bundy"? If you truly believe that then you must not think too well of our coaching staff evaluation on talent. They must see something in him thus validating the reason why they are bringing in a transfer. How does PC comments reflect that he is not a slam dunk? All he said is that the kid has to prove himself just like any other player or transfer who plays football. Think before you talk.

Pat Coleman

He is not a slam dunk.

Nobody transferring into Division III from I-AA non-scholarship is a slam dunk.

Another ignorant comment. Have you seen him play or talk to coaches that know him? Never thought I would see the day where our own fans will throw a kid under the bus who they havent even seen play yet, wow.

Better see a doctor about that knee.  I think you may have jerked it out with that auto-reflex to bat away at anything that may disparage UWW, even if you don't quite understand why.

"Do you think the coaching staff will take a transfer with limited skill? come on it makes no sense."

Exactly.  But in case you're too inclined to jerk before understanding, I'll be clearer.  Name the recruit.  You can't.  Name the coach or press release naming the recruit.  You can't.  You're right in that what hit-and-run WCC says makes no sense.

"They must see something in him thus validating the reason why they are bringing in a transfer."

But you must have a statement saying the transfer is arriving.  Looks like we all missed it.  Please help us out (if the knee isn't hurting too much) providing a reference.

"How does PC comments reflect that he is not a slam dunk? All he said is that the kid has to prove himself just like any other player or transfer who plays football."

Isn't having to prove yourself pretty much the definition of "not a slam dunk"?

I believe it is you that need to think before you write.  Lest you continue to make yourself look "kind of ignorant".  Or more accurately, completely ignorant.

By saying "Another ignorant comment" are you giving us warning that you're about to make one?  You must be.  There is no other way to make sense of your post.

At least I congratulate you on the warning.  Still need to work on thinking, though.  I think there are universities that help with that sort of thing.

Nor, am I guessing, have you seen high-level Division III ball yet either. You're clearly connected to the kid rather than the program. Oddly like "west coast coach" who seems to have deleted himself.

BTW, if "not a slam dunk" is throwing someone under the bus, I'd hate to see what you'd use to describe a true insult.
