News from D.C.....Pete Schmitt just got signed again to the Washington Redskins as a free agent as of yesterday......best of luck to Pete on his journey and continue to represent D3!!!!!!!

Congratulation!!  Great to see DIII Players in the League!

Great to see this...kinda wondering what would make Washington release him on July 18 and then re-sign him on Aug 4? Numbers problem? Bad timing? Just seems a tad odd.  Here's hoping they give him a chance to compete and earn a roster spot.  Glad I didn't delete the Redskin sites I had bookmarked on my computer!

As the saying says, "Third Time's a Charm!" Maybe Pete Schmitt can take over that motto.

BoBo,   How is the foot feeling?  Better I hope.

Kirasdad,  I personally wish PG the very best.  He is an incredible athlete and I feel has a great shot.  But I hope you will forgive many of us Warhawk fans who deep down, wish him well as he represents D3, but do so begrudgingly.   ;)  He didn't display the best of sportsmanship whenever he played the Hawks and his refusal to come on the field after the Stagg and shake the hands of a team that beat his team fair and square with the rest of his teammates was the final straw for me. He never was a good or true representative of your coach, team or program, IMHO, but I doubt I am telling you anything you don't already know.

Best of luck to Pete as he continues to ride this rollercoaster they call the NFL.  ;D

K-Mack, welcome back to the boards.  I have missed you this off season.  Will give you my 2 cents on the WIAC race, for what it is worth, after I have a chance to do a little homework.  I need to do it anyway as I get ready to defend my crown as the overall WIAC pick em's champ of 07!  ;)

Best of luck to Pete.....Could care less about Garcon....once a jerk always a jerk and even all the talent he has (which is a lot) doesn't excuse three years of acting like a no class act.....

Warhawk 96

Good luck Pete and Derek. As far as G_____ is concerned, I wish him the best too. I just really hope that he is not the same person that he displayed in the few occasions that I've been able to see him. I figure, if he's on the Colts around Tony Dungy he will either be gone or reformed. I hope for the latter.

Congratulations, Warhawk 96.  96 will be teaching middle school physical education in the Racine Unified School District.  Unfortunately, we will have to coach against each other, being that we will both represent different high schools within the city.  Good luck (except against us  :) ) and welcome to the district.

Speaking of Warhawk96, I had a chat with him in the Sentry parking lot on Tuesday. We were talking about the possibilites for the 2008 Warhawks.  96 talked about entering 2005, the talk was that UWW lost too may off its 2004 squad that finished 7-3 and in a three-way tie for 2nd in the WIAC.  We all know what happened in 2005 - the first of three consecutive unbeaten WIAC championship seasons. As 96 says - the success over the past three years has allowed for some high-level recruits to come into the fold.  Everybody outside of Whitewater is saying the team has lost way too much from last year's team. I agree with 96, the Hawks will have plenty of talent on the field this fall and it should be another solid season for Willie Warhawk.

Voice, are there any updates on Beaver or A.J.?  Last I heard Justin had a workout with the Bills and A.J. was going to the CFL....I think.  (I know it's been a while, but just curious as to what they're up to these days.)

Isn't AJ playing for a semi pro team in WI somewhere?
National Champions - 13: 1993, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2012, 2015, 2017

Success breeds success, as can be seen in programs like MTU, SJU,  Linfield and others. This will be a revealing year for UWW.

I put my trust in Tony Dungy. If he likes Garcon, it means something. Still not convinced, but starting to be swayed.

I thought it was reported here a few weeks ago that AJ was playing for the Wisconsin Wolfpack - there was a link to their roster page, as well.  A quick glance at their current roster doesn't list him as being a member of the team.  Only 2 LB's on the entire roster.

He was? is? on the Wisconsin Wolfpack - Milwaukee area.

Heck, I hope he still is.  I want to go see a game or two later in Aug or Sept.
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

I reported that a week ago.  He is listed on the team roster for the Wisconsin Wolfpack (a semi-pro team with several former Warhawks on the roster).  I attended the Wolfpack's game last Saturday against the Racine Raiders at Historic Horlick Field.  AJ was not in attendance.  I did not ask any of the Wolfpack people about his absence.

UW-Stevens Point's Goerke Field's new turf is now being installed; a new scoreboard, locker rooms and updated restrooms to follow...

What's interesting to note is that Goerke hosts 40-50 events per year on the natural field, but may see as many as 140-160 with the artificial turf in place, including use by semi-pro teams.

Leave your pool cues at home when coming to Menomonie in the future, the new turf installation is almost complete:
