Coach Terry and UWL?:
(1) Most demanding admissions requirements is the WIAC
(2) Second smallest (after UWRF) amount of released hours to coach football.  D-coordinator position is 50% teaching in season, even more during recruiting season. O-coordinator is full-time administrator.

UWL has other great advantages, however, not the least of which is the state track meet which brings many athletes to their campus.

I said early last year I would be wanting him out were I a LAX fan. I feel like he has taken the program down right from the start and it's past time for a change.

...furthermore, it's never a picnic trying to fill big sneakers, too.

Here's an updated photo I've found of the Perkins Stadium field turf project.  All of the lettering, logo, etc. still needs to be stitched but 90% of it is cut out.  After it's stitched another crew will come in and spread a mixture of silica sand and small black rubber pellets over the top of the field and that will complete the field portion of the project.

The north end zone has WHITEWATER and the south end zone has WARHAWKS in it.    The logo at midfield is way cool looking.

As a former Warhawk who absolutely loved the look and feel of the natural grass in The Perk and always thought it was the best available in the WIAC, I have to admit that I am a little jealous of the new turf and look of the stadium.  It should be a fantastic experience.  I'm excited to see the end result.

Even if they had purple diamonds at midfield I'd still prefer grass.......but I guess I can live with field turf

I know where you're coming from, Warhawk 96, but please allow me to suggest a different stone.  I'm not a gemologist, but since there are no purple diamonds, I would recommend changing the stones at mid-field to amethyst. They may not have the same allure as a diamond, but besides being the appropriate color for Perkins Stadium (a brilliant violet or purple), interestingly, it is considered a "healthy" gemstone by gem therapists (yes there are such people) for it's sobering and cleansing nature.  In fact, there is a popular belief that amethyst offers protection from drunkenness, for it's Greek translation (amethystos) means 'not intoxicated.'  I guess everyone is going to wear an amethyst ring to their tailgate parties from now on.

BTW, another little known fact about amethyst - it is also said to drive away evil spirits and inspire the intellect. Around my home, we have various amethyst items, bookends, jewlery, etc.  I can vouch for the first one, as I have yet to encounter evil spirit lurking about my abode - but as for inspiring the intellect, that's just about as rare as the evil spirits!!  :D

I think I watch too much Discovery Channel...

My life is now better for that tutorial on Amethysts. Thank you BoBO. What good is all that knowledge unless you pass it on. ;)

I am unaware of any sentiment to replace Coach Terry. Taking Whitewater down this year would sure help his popularity, and that is not out of the question. The Warhawks have had a great run, but I'm expecting the Conference race to be a real dogfight this season.

The fact that you are such a sharp guy, retAgent, with a high attention to detail, I would have thought you of all people would've already known that information  ;) .  But, even yours truly has to thank my brother-in-law for the info in my tutorial, as you put it.  He's a Senior Geologist with the Korean Ministry of Construction and Transportation and knows a lot more than I do with my 6 elective class credits in geology from a WIAC school.

Ok, so camp has officially started for the Hawks.  Remember the talk about the stud D1 transfer running back....the guy that could have played for 4 different SEC schools?  What's the latest and greatest on that rumor??  Voice, what can you tell us?

I'm not Voice but I can tell you that he is enrolled and practicing.   It is difficult to tell much at this point because they haven't practiced in pads yet.

What's with the cloak of secrecy, bw?  The question dallas is asking is rather simple and direct.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think he and a lot of others would like to know the name of the guy.  You obviously know who HE is - so, if what you say is true, what's wrong with ending the suspense so we can move on to other things?  Unless, of course, there is some kind of gag order preventing you from disclosing this kind of inside information...or that HIS skill set is not as advertised? ;)
