La Crosse's next, Azuza Pacific is losing to West Texas A&M 75-13 with 6 minutes remaining.  Anyone know who WTAM is, or should I say, who they use to be?  Never heard of them?

Also, in a finely pitched ballgame, Auburn defeated Miss State, 3-2.  Miss State left the bases loaded in the bottom of the 4th quarter.  The Auburn closer came in to cap the victory by tackling the last ball carrier.  But for some reason, he doesn't get a save.

BoBo - Didn't quite get your Auburn/Miss St reference until I saw the article this morning. Good one!

I don't understand why he wasn't penalized and the runner wasn't awarded the base.  Tackling him is clearly defensive interference.    ???

Today I saw a thing which said it was the Auburn's lowest winning score since 1990something and I thought, "you mean they once won a game 2-0."

Maybe the runner was already outside the basepath?!

This thread reminded me to bring up the week-old thought that Eau Claire's game at Bethel was the first I've ever seen where a team was up 4-0 in the first quarter!(It's always good to get an early grand slam home run!)  ;D

Found this posted on the MIAC thread.  Pretty cool article about teams being afraid to play the WIAC.

Yep -- that and other interesting Division III stories can be found in the "What we're reading" box on the front page and on the blog.

If that doesn't shame them into playing us I don't know what will.  :D

What's going on down in La Crosse?  Senior standout QB Griffin Moe was apparently benched after the one-point loss to Hardin-Simmons.  He saw no action against North Dakota, and with Azusa, Whitewater, and Eau Claire coming up next the timing seems awkward at best.  Articles in the La Crosse Tribune have shed very little light on the situation.  Something similar occurred a few years ago as well when two-year starter Steve Tennies rode the pine most of his senior year.
