BTW, Mr. Coleman, how is a poll question deleted (WIAC pickem page)?  It's well past it's prime and needs to come down!!

The person who posted it has the ability to take it down, or you can ask me to. I never ever visit the WIAC pickem board so I wouldn't stumble across it, to be sure. :)

Gee, don't suppose that's a typo.

It's from the official NCAA Statistics.  How often do they make mistakes?...oops, forget I asked that!! Since neither team reported an attendance, does the NCAA just give you 10 in that case?  For statistical reasons?  I also saw that Ithaca and Hartwick was listed as having an attendance of 1 for their game on Sept 20.

BoBo, the NCAA's numbers are only as good as those people who enter them into the box score.  In the frantic nature of wrapping up a game and trying to get information distributed, it would be very easy to accidentally type "10" when you meant to type "810" or something similar.  Accidents happen, and they get corrected.

As I mentioned, the box scores from both schools failed to list an attendance.  So, why would the NCAA put it in the official stats as 10?

Maybe that's a default number in the computer program, and the fact that the schools didn't list attendance it just stayed at the default. Better off if the SID's do their jobs correctly.  ;)

What's more interesting is why a SLIAC attendance figure has dominated the WIAC board.

I'm with Pat...

So, does River falls at home have a chance against U-Dub? The only thing that scares me is Zweifel (6'1")  lighting up Whitewater's undersized corners. I would like to see the D-line get in the face of Harmon (like they did last week vs. LaCrosse) creating pressure to force huried throws, before Zweifel can run his route.

Other than that, there should be no reason whitewater can't extend its conference winning streak.

I'd say that River Falls has a chance but it's improbable. I think they keep it under a monkey stomp though.

Backdoor attendance bragging.

Whitewater averages 206 per game on the ground. River Falls gives up 168 yards per game rushing. I think that is the difference in the game-the Warhawks control the ball and keep the Falcons passing game off the field. And when the Falcons are on the field, the Warhawks restrict them to a short passing game. Zweifel will get his catches-I'll say 10-but it won't be enough.

Just got back from Stout's Touchdown Club and need to chime in with a word about this Stout football program.  I am impressed.  Coach Naatz came in here with a ton of  baggage to deal with.  He has handled everything with class, his players have bought into a program that is all about doing things the right way, the ego's have all been checked at the door, he has hired good assistants and is letting them coach, and people in Menomonie are very excited about the potential of this program.  Yes, I am the guy who picked Platteville last week, but that's because I have traveled to Platteville the past 10 years with both good and bad Stout teams and we have always found a way to lose.  I don't think Stout is going to win the conference this year but I just like the way things are getting done right now.  These are great guys to be around.  If Coach Naatz does not get his contract renewed, then there should be a real "investigation" here at UW Stout.

Talk about the kiss of death. Naatz may as well start filling out job aplications right now. Seriously though, I feel like I can stop hating Stout football now that they have eliminated the trash talking, under talented thugs of the last few years. It would be a shame to interupt the progress being made now by bringing in a new coach. Besides, they are playing pretty good too.

Contact your U's faculty rep and ask about this rumor:  UWSP's chancellor has stated that the Pointers will undertake a feasibility study tp explore the possibility of moving their programs to DII.

Not going to happen without the backing of the UW system, and I doubt that kind of backing is there.  Plus, if they wanted to offer athletic scholarships they'd have to deal with the state legislature.  I don't think that's a road they want to go down, especially if they are on their own, without their WIAC brethren by their side.

badgerwarhawk

What conference would they affilate with? In addition to scholarship costs their travel expenses will increase significantly.  There just isn't a significant DII exposure in Wisconsin so without other WIAC programs joining them they'd be left as an independent or traveling a lot.
