Regarding tailgating at UWO, we have used a parking lot down a little ways and across the street from the main stadium parking which, I believe, is a bank parking lot the last few years we have been there.  Some overflow fans in it and with discrete drinking, we have never had a problem.

We don't pursue players from other programs and if we are contacted by them our staff makes it clear they must first discuss it with their respective coaches before we'll have anything to do with them.  There's no doubt that success and facilities play a role in attracting players who, for whatever reasons, want to leave another program but some of them are players that we recruited out of high school and didn't get as well.

It is also worth noting that some players leave our program and transfer to others where they feel they'll have more opportunity.

I wouldn't normally post this, but I actually +k'd Goo (he's obviously in serious negstive territory with me still) for his last two posts. Older and wiser? ;)

The last couple years when I returned for a couple games we used the bank parking lot for tailgating. I imagine it will fill up VERY fast this weekend so plan ahead for that. Never had an issue with drinking there either.

Someone mentioned 2006 attendance of UWW fans...that was a night game in which the hawks won 17-3. I believe all scoring was done in the first half. That was our highest attended game that season as well...I'm sure the UWW fans helped contribute.

If it was me I would listen to the game on 106.5 FM in the Whitewater area, or listen online by clicking onto http://www.uwwsports.com/sports/gen/2007/followthewarhawks_09202007.asp

Jordan Wells is listed as #1 slot receiver for UWW, but does anyone know if he is scheduled to play this week?  He wasn't listed on the participation sheet as playing last week and I didn't hear his name called while listening to the River Falls game.  Is he injuried?  He was playing so "well" this year.

For the La Crosse game he was on the sidelines in jeans, so it looked to be some kind of injury.  You're right - he was off a great start, so hopefully he'll be back soon.

I think he has a shoulder injury that occurred at Puget Sound.

I have a nephew that is considering colleges to play football.  UW LaCrosse is one of them.  My question to you UWL supporters is this.  How long does the program go with Terry?  How do supporters/alumni feel about him?

The word through the grapevine is that the natives are restless.

Congrats to Nick Slupski, this week's D3 Team of Week tight end.

Bisondad, unfortunately, you might go awhile to get an answer to that question...haven't seen a die-hard La Crosse fan on here in many moons.  There has been some discussion from others about the La Crosse situation recently and IMO the consensus is that Terry has made a number of boneheaded moves, most visibly with the QB situation, that have contributed greatly to the Eagles crash landing.  La Crosse is a very good school academically (I even have a masters degree from there) and La Crosse was always a fun city to live in, but your nephew will ultimately have to make the choice about the football program and if it's right for him.  As I wrote a few weeks ago, it seems a bit discombobulated lately.
